| Comments: | Unfortunately, the weather when we arrived was crap... However we rind a way to make it entertaning by visiting the area aroud the hostel. The staff here is very nice and friendly and specialy Bia who was helped us find flights and accomodation to Salvador... She was great!!!

I was in Rio only 4 days but I think I think that is very nice town. I love Ipanema Beach. I was in Rio in the winter, but for me winter in Brazil is very nice and hot! I dont want to know how hot is on summer! I love Brazilian foods, sea, beach, people and shops. | Comments: | We've loved Rio, it's a great city & this hostel has been the perfect base to explore - great location,, friendly helpful staff & a good little kitchen. We recomend the churrascaria round the corner beneath Shannanagins but go there hungry! Also recomend a trip to Santa TEresa and a expensive but amazing helicopter tour over the city.

Rio is the best place in Brazil and some thanks to the ladies of Karisma Hostel, if anyone goes to "Lapa", watch out for the good looking girls with weiners! They are not girls! | Comments: | The hostel is pretty much what you´d expect accomodations-wise, but the people who work here make all the difference. In my travels in Brazil, I did not stay anywhere, from hostel to a five-star hotel where the people were more helpful, generous, and flexible. My plans changed several times, and everyone was happy to help me make them and get me where I needed to go. The rooms themselves were fine- clean and felt safe, although loud in the late evenings as one would expect of a neighborhood like this. The hostel is also close or attached to others in the small street where it is located, fostering a sense of community and even safety when traveling alone. The location is perfect for the beaches and neighborhoods closeby, though a litle more far from the center. However, the shopping and food nearby is plentiful and excellent. |
