Man in the Mirror

The evidence was so clear
So vibrant I shed a tear
I had become a different man
Someone I couldn’t stand
I want to act out from rage and embarrassment
This isn’t for what my life was meant
How does a man regain his pride
How can I shake this feeling inside
No soap can wash this away
The stains are there to stay
Maybe this is the man who has always been inside me
Maybe I just refused to see
I had become a product of my environment
A creature in a world of stress, concrete and cement
I must return to the man I knew
A task accomplished by few
I will destroy the man I appear to be
Because there’s a better man inside of me.
