comments:I was for the death penalty before I was penpals with some of them. Maybe some people on death row deserve to be there but most of them surely does not. How can you keep someone in in a cage for an undetermined time and let them just wait for years and years. Talk to some of the death row inmates and you will hear that they are not monsters!

Texas is out in control, somebody should do something about it. My prayers are both with the inmates and the victim's families.

comments:Why would you guys give these guys an outlet for any pleasure or exchange from outisde of their death row world? I found this site by researching a guy who shot and killed two 60 something year old brothers who were volunteering for a boys home...he shot and bludgeoned them to death, and he's been sentenced to death since 2002 or 2003.

I don't believe he should be allowed any contact with the outside world, or any potential pleasure he could enjoy from interaction with the outside world. I wish you guys would rethink this site.

comments:I respectfully disagree with the anti-death penalty stance. Ms. Carty had a fair trial before a jury of her peers, and the requisite numerous appeals were undertaken. She received due process, was found guilty, and the jury determined her culpability sufficient to warrant the ultimate penalty. The Death Penalty isn't about bringing people back - it's about punishing the irredeemably guilty. Those who commit premeditated or otherwise aggravated murder bring this punishment upon themselves. My sympathy lies entirely with the innocent victims and their families.

I am saddened to read about the death penalty existing in this day and age. With all of the mountains we humans have conquered, we still haven't really enveloped the word mercy.

comments:I am against the DP and it saddens me when I read comments filled with such hate,rage and cruelty. Just because people oppose this barbaric punishment doesn't mean we don't care about the victims! I don't understand how pro-DP people always throw that statement in, lots of people who oppose the DP have suffered the loss of a loved one themselves at the hands of another. The DP is unfairly administered, how can they say its only the most heinous killers on DR when you have serial killers doing LWOP? Yet someone who didn't kill anyone (Law Of Parties) is sat on DR or someone who didn't intend to kill as never previously broken any laws how can you say these are the most heinous killers? Prison officials blatantly celebrate executions...this is acceptable normal behaviour? The offenders on DR are tortured for years before they are executed and law abiding folks think this is fine and dandy, yet you condemn and call those on DR for less. Many on DR didn't mean to kill if they could take it back they would. No one is denying that there is a small percentage of people who are evil who did intend to kill and would kill again if they got the chance but this is a small minority and in the 21st century we can separate these offenders from society (funny enough these are the ones that do get LWOP) Most on DR are there because they could not afford a decent attorney, the DP represents corrupt power hungry officials only interested in votes, its got nothing to do with truth and justice. If the DP was fairly administered the line up on DR would be totally different. When a broken and corrupt system is administering something so final its immoral! This is why the DP should be abolished. Why do normal folks condemn DR inmates for their cruel deeds then turn a blind eye to them being tortured for 10, 20 sometimes 30+ years? Its beyond cruel and normal folks lose all moral high ground once they become the torturers! We have loads of technology yet offenders are still being denied forensic tests (this should be standard in DP cases). Why if DAs are so sure of guilt do they fight to prevent forensic testing? In the 21st century many on DR are convicted by testimony alone,(testimony usually off someone avoiding the DP themselves or jailhouse snitch who is gaining by lying most recant their statements) no forensic evidence links them to the crime. People think the appeal system is a safeguard for innocents convicted....think again. Appeals are just officials ticking boxes once convicted it is near impossible to prove innocence. The only ones who do win appeals are those lucky enough to have the likes of the innocence project etc.. backing them. Do you know most appeal judges type the refusal out before they even read the appeal...unbelievable but sadly true. If normal folks really looked into the DP they would be shocked at the injustices and sheer corruption and saddened at how little truth and justice there is I know I was when asked to check some stuff out. This is just a few reasons why the DP needs abolishing, no one forgets the victims but if the wrong people are getting the DP wheres the justice?

All i can say is the system stinks, and i'm sorry you got the bad end of the deal. The good news is you have eternity to look forward to. Here's a way to know you'll be prepared. comments:i really didn't care for the death penality or really understand but when i read the book pure murders ,i was shocked!.i can not believe their people among us like those sick and mean guys. I do believe that death penalty does not make them suffer and is a kind of easy way out,but honestly their are very sick people out there that do deserve that!!..So i agree with the death penalty!!

comments:I had a job that took me to Livingston about a month ago, my GPS lead me to a wrong direction and I wound up next to the Polunsky Unit in Livingston.
I didn't know of it at the time. I was reading an article today about an execution to be set for the Bath Tub murders in Arlington and noticed the person responsible is located at Polunsky. After reading his bio and more related info on http://www.crimezzz.net and so on, I noticed my cousin (999299) is there as well, awaiting DR. I must say, I was shocked! How can I write to him or contact him.
I heard of his crimes, but did not think he got DR.

For five years I've been writing to man who has been on Florida's death row since 1991 ..
I hope I also live to see the day that the death penalty is abolished in the USA .. that really would be progress !

comments:I would like to say that I have written and received a letter from Patrick Bearup of Arizona. It was pretty cool, I have sparked interest among the people I know. I am a very very strong believer in Capital Punishment, however in the case of Patrick, I believe they have the wrong guy on death row.
