| Comments: | Hello. This is the random girl you met at the airport. I enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing your mother’s illness with me. You are the first person that I have met that has admitted to me that they were raised by a crazy person. I knew there had to be other people like me somewhere. I just didn’t know they would be sitting next to me at the airport. It is good to know that people can grow up in that environment and still appear to be okay (I know looks can be deceiving but you appear to be okay). I hope one day when my sick people are medicated we can look back and laugh at all the crazy things that they have done and I can talk about those things. Thanks for giving me hope. Good luck with your film career. |

| Comments: | Thank you Dr. Jay for all the insight you have provided to me and my family. I have shared your book "Bipolar" with numerous people, and they have all appreciated having an opportunity to learn about bipolar disorder in an easy-to-read, concise manner. |

| Comments: | Thanks for all you have done. Even tho I'm probably in the manic stage now I FEEL if I keep reading your books and watching your DVDs periodically I'll gain some insight of who I am. Right now I don't want to leave my home as I fear I will spend money on unnecessary Christmas stuff. I explode so easy when my husband yells at me about spending any money. It doesn't help that my sister-in-law, Bev, is Bipolar and never leaves her apartment and calls me to buy Christmas decorations for her. She was a Elementary school teacher and likes to have new decorations each year for each holiday. Also her birthday was on Nov. 9 and she asked me to buy her a cake, yellow with chocolate fudge. Today is Dec. 5th! Nobody will help her because they all look at her as being nuts. I'm a caretaker type. My husband and his brother & family have never helped their sister or for that matter their mother, Maggie.....I did until the day she died. I also had to live with my step mother, Betty, for a couple years. She was afraid to be alone day or night. She got so possessive of me that my husband and adult children couldn't come over to visit us during the last 6 months of her life. I had to make excuses to sneak out to see my family. When Maggie died, within 4 months my father died and I had to care for Betty. When Betty died, in March 1998, I was mentally beat up and had a major heart attack, that I was lucky to have made it thru. Recovery was long. And that is when I was diagnosed with Bipolar myself and so was my sister in law, Bev. At that time she was married and living out in Arizona. She went to a mental health center and got help. But her husband and she moved back to Michigan in 2001. He left her--abandoned her here and eventually they got a divorce in 2006. And that is when I starting caring for her (and myself). She is totally helpless. My husband and I live about 35 miles away. I do what I can when I can. One thing that is nice about Bev's and my relationship is that we know when one or the other needs a little time or space. We call them timeouts. I could write a book. I do love my animals! 1 yellow lab, deeogee,10 yrs old and ill, 2 jack russell terriers, brothers that are 1 yr old, Skippy & Oscar and 1 cocktiel, snow feather. They ARE what keeps me sane. And my 5 grandchildren. I'll keep reading your books and listening to your dvds, as you have given me something I can understand about how and why I do & say things. Thank you, Dr. Carter. |

| Comments: | We have an 18 yr. old daughter with bipolar and other emotional issues. She is currently in the psych hosp the last 3 weeks and it is a painful time. My husband and I sat down together on our sofa and watched Dr. Carter's May 12th seminar. What fantastic insight he has. What he teaches could never all be learned from a book. It is because of his life experiences you just know that he understands exactly what we are dealing with. The best thing about it was not only the great revelations we learned about bipolar but his terrific sense of humor. We sat together laughing out loud at a time when we are hurting so deeply. I am looking forward to it going on DVD so I can get it and make my whole family watch it so they too can get some understanding into why our daughter acts the way she does. Thank you Dr. Carter for making this available for us to learn from and enjoy. Joann |

| Comments: | I know I am signing my own guest book, but the person below, Sharon Liddle, has written the greatest book for kids on Bipolar Disorder! It is called "Eli The Bi-Polar Bear". I have a copy (which I don't lend out)and I have seen her book at the Eighth International Conference on Bipolar Disorder this year in Pittsburgh. It is great for kids, explaining mood swings and some of the problems that kids with BiPD may have, as well as providing an understanding for friends and family. I always recommend this book for kids wwho have a sibling or parent with BiPD. |

| Comments: | Dear Dr. Jay,
Thank you for sharing this wonderful, insightful seminar with me. You have such a clear understanding of the struggles and challenges that families face with bipolar disorder. It was almost like you lived in my house and were commenting on the life of my family. I will share this seminar with others and add you as a link on my website. The short cartoon video at the end was pretty accurate. I would MUCH rather come across a boogy man than an angry bipolar person. I know what the results can be. |

| Comments: | Dear Dr. Jay,
Thank you for your help with this seminar and taping it. I had the honor and pleasure of attending your seminar in Philadelphia early this year and it helped me immensely with developing a greater understanding and knowledge base of Bipolar Dis. I'm a therapist and am beginning an 8 week seminar next week on Bipolar Dis and Depression. The information I've acquired from you is a huge help and support. I have been sharing the Bipolar Light website with my colleagues and clients and am trusting it will bear fruit. I especially enjoy and appreciate your candid disclosures of events in your life. I wish you ongoing success with your outreach to others in spreading true knowledge and insight about Bipolar Dis and the new information that is being discovered. You are truly a light in my life and I'm most grateful. |

| Comments: | I am so grateful I stumbled upon your web site and had the opportunity to watch your video. It was so informative, yet compassionate. My grandmother was very bipolar, and I suspect my mother was for a number of years while I was growing up as well (she seemed to change after a hysterectomy in her late thirties). I found myself downloading your book and saying out loud, "This is ME!" Unfortunately, since my diagnosis last year at the age of 38, I have yet to find a therapist that knows much of anything about bipolar or even simple suggestions of how to live every day. I am on seroquel, cymbalta, ultram er (for fibromyalgia) and a thyroid med because I originally received a medical diagnosis for hyperthyroidism before anyone thought to suspect bipolar. Everything I have learned has been through my own research rather than therapists or my psychiatrist or family doctor. Thank you for the information you provided via that video and through your books—my husband and I finally are able to begin to learn what to do. Quite possibly your efforts may save my marriage and help bridge and strengthen my relationships with my children. Again, thank you... I hope to find help in my city of Springfield, Mo., even though resources so far appear to be practically nonexistent. I plan to order your DVD and look forward to you speaking in the Midwest at some point in the future. Regards, Lisa |

| Comments: | Since I had to live with this illness with both my mother and my sister, while i was living at home and also recently with a partner.
This seminar held my attention all the way through to the end. answered all my questions intelligently, enriching my understanding of the pipolar condition. Dr. Carters's presentation is stimulating, enriching and the video is well produced..had a laugh or two along with enjoying his passion and compassion for life and this subject matter. |

| Comments: | I was entertained, I laughed, I remembered, and I was greatly moved by Dr. Jay's presentation at the Temple theatre in Saginaw, Michigan. The manner in which Dr. Jay imparts important information is amazing. Participants relate to what Dr. Jay has to say because he accurately describes what is going on in the mind of an individual who has a bi-polar disorder. Dr. Jay helps not only the individual who has the physical issue; he also vividly describes the empathy that is so essential for family members and friends to internalize. |

THANK YOU!!!! I just watched the video of the Saginaw seminar and you are the first professional that I have"met" in 13 years of dealing with professionals that really seems to understand the complexities and possible spectrum of BP. I was about a 3 on your spectrum from the age of about 3 who was triggered into a 6.5 by multiple extreme pshycho-social stressors and was treated by the "experts as a 10 which triggered me into about an 8. I have had good success preventing major episodes through a more natural health treatment plan that includes most of your suggestions. I plan to encourage everyone I know to at least watch your video and I hope to have the money to purchase the DVD soon. Thank you again for focusing on the big picture and not just the "science" that has blinded so many "experts" to what we individuals really need. |

| Comments: | My 7 year old son is bipolar. By watching the video, I now see a future of hope for him. Knowing that his chemical imbalance will more than likely be improved with future medications and current therapies, I no longer feel burden but empowered. We delight in his successes and struggles knowing it will be worth it for our entire family. Thank you Dr. Carter for the insight. |

| Comments: | Hi Folks,
Thank you for signing my guest book and giving your feedback from the May 12 event this year in Saginaw. We are editing the film and your comments are much appreciated. This film will be entered in Film Festivals to promote the knowledge of bipolar disorder and help decrease the stigma. Hopefully it will also prompt more money into research. We are within ten years of stabilizing bipolar disorder in the individual and over the next ten years, things will get better and better. Dr. Jay |
