Michael Barker Tuesday, November 25th 2008 - 03:36:55 PM brkr49@aol.com My therapist just attended one of your seminars and she came away with some very insightful and accurate observaions of the bipolar condition. When we discussed what you had presented she was right on. You have a grasp of what it is actually like and she spoke to you about me for sometime afterward. Continue on your path, I am sure you will help many others. As for me, I feel I have reached my own reality (influenced by the bipolar I'm sure) even though part of me denys it. Keep the message out there for others. Michael

G. Sutton Wednesday, July 30th 2008 - 09:22:52 AM gms12558@yahoo.com Wow!..."Nasty People"! My daughter just bought this book - for both of us she says. And I plan to make sure my son reads it too. I've been researching "nasty people" for a few years now (because of very painful personal experiences), looking into Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Psychopathic/Sociopathic Disorders. What I love about your book is that it is so dead-on and precise, easy to read in one sitting for those who become too overwhelmed by too much information. I appreciate that you were able to put so much information out there in a nutshell, so to speak. Small book that speak volumes! Thanks.

Paul Okemasfeo Monday, February 18th 2008 - 01:24:55 PM paulok@dreamhive.org Dr. Jay, I'm not usually one to sign guest-books, but I wantad to tell you about how your Nasty People book really changud my life. Since I was a boy, it seems that everyone was nasty to me, my frieds, my work people, my wife. I began going to a psycologist to work through my problems when a friend gave me 'Nasty People'. It changud my life instantly: instead of finding why I kept attracting negative people into my life, I now had a grerat guide to help me discover why everyone was nasty to me! You've saved me a lots of money in therapy bills, and now I understand bullies far better than ever! Thank you Dr. Jay for helping me project my own issues on to others! When I told my therepist that I didn't need him anymore because you're book told me all I needed to know, he said somthing about 'cognitive dissniance' or something. Whatever. I was already walking out! Thanks again Dr. Jay! Regards, Paul O. Topeka, KS PS -- Even to this day I am amazied at how many Nasty People are out there! You're book couldn't be more better timed!

J.A. Saturday, December 1st 2007 - 08:04:23 AM vegielady2@aol.com Dear Dr. Jay, Thank you so much for writing "The Bully Caterpillar" and producing the artistic DVD. As I read the book to my elementary students, it elicited various positive reactions. One student in particular, who suffered the loss of a parent, was especially touched, as I saw tears well up in his eyes. This child was on the verge of becomming a real "Bully," and now he is helpful and caring towards others. I left the book on my desk for a few weeks for children to read during independent reading time, and it was always in use. I highly recommend this book and DVD for educators to use on any level in any setting, and especially with inner city students, as it has been a blessing to both my students and me.

J. A. Monday, November 26th 2007 - 10:25:20 AM vegielady2@aol.com Thank you so much for your wonderful book and DVD, The Bully Caterpillar, as it was a blessing for my students. One child in particular, who suffered the loss of a parent, was changed by this book. As he watched the DVD, I saw tears well up in his eyes and a serious side of him that I hadn't seen before. This child was on the verge of becomming a real bully, and now I see a blossoming child who shows empathy and cares more about others. I highly recommend this book and DVD for teachers, school counselors, and administrators to share with their students, particularly in an inner city setting.

Bo Davis Sunday, September 9th 2007 - 10:33:04 AM bodavis7@yahoo.co.uk http://www.bodaviscoaching.co.uk Hello Dr. Jay I read "Nasty People" early yesterday morning from beginning to end, and simlpy want to say thank you for a wonderful, direct and clearly written definition of bullying. As a newly qualifing Life Coach, NLP Master Practitioner and Hypnotherapist I am particularly interested in the devastating affects of workplace bullying on people's self esteem and confidence. My initial interest stems from personal experience as a survivor of workplace bullying in the UK Educational system, not as a student but as an Art and Design lecturer. I will recommend "Nasty People" to my clients who are the targets of workplace bullying. Warmest Regards Bo Davis (Life Coach)

Bo Davis Saturday, September 8th 2007 - 05:15:56 AM bodavis7@yahoo.co.uk http://bodaviscoaching.co.uk Hello Dr Carter Many thanks for your wonderful book "Nasty People" which I read with relish, early this morning! I will recommend it to my many clients who are targets of workplace bullying. Working in Education as an Art and Design lecturer for 16yrs I survived the direct attentions of a workplace bully and discovered to my amazement how rife bullying is within the UK Educational staff system. Presently I am working as a newly qualified Life Coach and NLP Practitioner, also training as a Hypnotherapist, with a particular interest in supporting people affected by workplace bullying. I also have a strong interest in bipolar disorder as my daughter is diagnosed with bipolar 1. I am in the process of setting up a website for my new practice and wonder if I may use your website as a link. Thank you again for "Nasty People" Warmest Regards Bo Davis

mancha Tuesday, July 17th 2007 - 06:01:50 PM txangeles@yahoo.com Dear Dr.Carter: I married HITLER!!! I even had a child with him. I have divorced this man; and,he is still trying to destroy me. He does it now through our daughter;and, I have fallen into his control again. In your book, "Nasty People" you describe my ex-husband exactly! He really has no conscience, empathy (I mean--he's just as you wrote in your book!) Could you please help me? How do I stop him from using my daughter to get to me? I believe he hates me to the very bone;and, he doesn't consider what he says or does to our daughter. How can I help my little girl? How can I empower her so she does not fall prey to this mechanism? He has gone on with his life and has remarried. The woman he married (if you can believe this--is just as bad as him!). They both can't get enough of torturing me. I hope to hear from you soon! In the meantime, I will look into your other books: NastyMen,Women&Bosses. I believe I am prone to the invalidation mechanism. I hope to stop it from hurting me and my child any further. Thank You!

Jerriod Broadnax Wednesday, June 27th 2007 - 10:50:48 PM jerriodbroadnax@yahoo.com I recently attended a seminar (in Little Rock, AR) presented by Dr. Carter on Bipolar Disorder. As a graduate student in Community Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy, his systemic view of BPD is astonishing. I have attended several seminars on BPD but yet I have found his to be the "most genuine and exciting," as compared to all of the "medical lingo" we normally get from seminars/presentations. Since having an emphasis in BPD, I am looking forward to other presentations and books by Dr. Jay Carter.

Donald Levitt Sunday, February 11th 2007 - 03:36:19 PM levittdonald@yahoo.com I just started "Nasty Women." It is making incredible sense. I have been around a lot of nasty women in my life. I guess with women's lib, they have "come out of the closet." And by the droves. I finally became so frustrated when I noticed that my daughter is also taking the nasty woman approach. I feel men have to come to terms with these women, whether we like it or not. They seem to comprise the vast majority of women these days. So your book will become the Bible. You need a "collected works" edition of your writings. I also am bipolar and I am on medication. So I can't wait to read that book as well. Sincerely, Donald Levitt

Annette Thursday, December 22nd 2005 - 12:17:35 AM saprice@newnorth.net Dr. Carter: I have a daughter who was diagnoised with Bipolar 2 years ago. It had been extremly hard to find clear facts as to Bipolar - you can find the symtoms - but little knowledge as to the roots. I read your book, Bipolar(An Unorthodox, Common Sense Explanation) book. I can say, for the first time, I understand more about the disorder. Thank you for your research and interest in the disorder and for sharing your information with people like me. It had, for the first time in two years, given me hope, and to see that Bipolar people are outside of the box thinkers. They are beautiful people, and very intelligent - that may be why they have a disorder, we would all look pretty bad in our intelligence, if they didn't have some restrictions!! LOL. I have been try'n to get more of your books - Bipolar(An Unorthodox, Common Sense Explantion)but, when I orderd I got the next book Bipolar (The Elemants of Bipolar Disorder). Did this Elements book replace the first one or is the Unorthodox one still available? Could you please email me back the answer to my question? Thank you again, for your encouragement and letting me know that Bipolar people are not Mad Men or Crazy people. They need our love, understanding and support. We need them as much as they need us. M McF Thursday, September 22nd 2005 - 03:24:53 PM mtm105@netzero.net Thank you for your book on Nasty Women. The fact that women are emotionally/verbally abusive is an issue that is oversighted in society. I see on the internet there are shelters for women who are abused, but what about men??? These shelters should have their funding cut. I just started reading your book and I see that it addresses the issue of women who are abusive. There is a political landscape out there that denies this. This political landscape focuses on men, men are the abusers and women can do no wrong....that way women are able to perpetuate up the corporate/political ladder. I am in an abusive relationship, which I would have ended long ago, except that we have a beautiful toddler boy and I would like to try every avenue of approach before divorce. During the interim I have to endure abuse. We go to counseling and she will find excuses not to attend, therefore eliminating it in the long run.
