| Comments: | I designed the cover and liner notes for the Safari Records version of TABA back in 1992. Needless to say, at the time the guys and I were just pals in college and didn't think it would amount to anything. The handwriting on the cover and for the titles of all the songs is Matt's. On several occasions, Trying to Find a Purpose came out Trying to Find a Porpoise, which became a running joke at their gigs for awhile. We had NO money which is why the whole thing is done in black and white and the photo is a really crappy scan. I lost touch with the guys after moving to CA in 1995. In 1996, I got a call from RCA telling me that they were changing the design on the cover, more informing me than asking permission. No royalties for me! No big deal though. These guys are the genuine thing...super nice and unbelievably talented, always have been. I wish them the best!

| Comments: | I recently found a 1992 Safari Records copy of There And Back Again for $2 in a discount bin at a used CD store. Somebody obviously wasn't down with VH! I was wondering if anyone knew about the history behind this recording...I know this was before the Rhythmic Records release, but I can't find much about it on the web.

I must recomend some people and bands to you. Howie Day is a great up and coming soloist along with John Lardieri. The Samples have been around for a bit but are a great band. Their studio stuff is great and they are awesome live. |

He is still going strong and has a new CD called "Figure in a Landscape." His voice is addictive and mesmerizing to listen to, and he really sings from the heart. The new CD is sensational! He knows the guys in the band actually and told me they used to practice in college just a few rooms down from him. I asked my teacher if he could get me their cd but it never happened so now I'm stuck listening to their music on the computer only..well until I find the CD. The guys in Chasing Gray lived in NY for a while and now they're in Boston. So yeah I thought that was neat. |
