| Comments: | I found your site whilst trawling for the poem "I've tried in vain a thousand ways" etc. I believe the poem was written by James Procter who was a lifetime atheist and president of a movement called The Free Thinkers Society in Englandth. He originally wrote the poem without the last line to the verses and it was his critique on the hopelessness of existence. When he was terminally ill he was visited by a man of God and led to the Lord. As he lay dying he asked for his poem to be brought to him and in pencil he wrote the ending to each verse and added the verse "He died he lives, he reigns etc. He also wrote at the end of the manuscript "Atheism is the death of hope the suicide of the soul.."

| Comments: | Thank You for your work. I am a follower of the teaching of our LORD JESUS. I believe that every word he spoke was from GOD. However I do take issue with a great deal of what has been said in the old testument about GOD. If you choose to believe all that was written in the old testiment that would make GOD a murderer, he would inlest people to do killings for him, such as when the Jews came to the so called promiss land. If I recall the Jew said GOD told them to kill everliving thing men women and childern. I think this was written to cover up the evil that the Jew did. I find that the bible allways blames GOD for the killing, the great flood. I believe that my GOD as JESUS said is GOOD and only GOD is Good. So if GOD is good how can he do evil deeds. Just a few thoughts. One of the main problems with our belife system is that we allways are trying to bring GOD down to our leval. If GOD can kill it must be ok for me to kill. I did not say anything about any other religions on this page. I have looked into other religions, why would I want to consider following a religion that doesn't add up when I've found Jesus who is the way the truth and the life? | Comments: | I read that story about that girl with Athiest parents that was supposed to be touching, but it wasn't at all. It was stupid. It was slightly disturbing to anyone with half a brain who actually thought it out. One reason for that is that it would obviously be even more traumatic for her to be moved into an entirely different upbringing. Another is the portrayal of Athiest parents. It might not have meant to be as bad as it sounds, and technically wasn't, but something about it left a really bad taste in my mouth. It isn't touching because even though she was Athiest, living in a society that is around 80% Christian, she would have heard about Jesus from somewhere. |

This is the story of my rebirth-- I need to tell it to someone. Yesterday I returned from a Confirmation retreat camping trip. I'm young, but I can say that it was my best weekend ever. On the trip, I was given the choice to accept Christ in my heart and be saved. It was the most eerie experience of my life-- I felt happy and very ashamed at the same time. God had done so much for us-- created us, died for us, promised eternal life-- and I couldn't appreciate is enough to do as He says. I could feel the Spirit in the room. my page: That's OK that you disagree with my statement, everybody has an opinion, just like you have one. You say you disagree with my statement, I should add that you also disagree with Jesus. He taught that there is a hell where people will go. You are like many people who believe that "good" people go to heaven. So, if God asked you why he should let you into heaven, you would say: I am good, I have strong moral values? Jesus said that he is the only way to God. Can I be right in saying that you think Jesus is a liar? God says all have sinned and fall short, Salvation is a free gift, nothing that you can do to earn it. Jesus died on the cross freely to save the whole world. Yet you would think that you can do something apart from that free gift that would merit your Salvation? Jesus died on the cross to save the world, but you think you can be saved by other ways? Isn't that insulting God? I don't want anyone to go to hell, neither does God. That's why: God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. God gave his Son. Of course God loves you, why do you think he gave his Son. Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men. Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? Any person who has strong moral values and is a good person will go to Heaven. I don't think any good person would want other good people to go to Hell simply because they don't accept Jesus as their savior. God is too great to ever punish moral people for devoting their lives to other faiths. |
