Comments:I am just listening to "Horny Frog" from B.B.B. and other songs on a big compilation of him. I think that Big Bill had more influence on popular blues than other artists/writers, because he left such a bunch of material of very differnt styles. It is always a pleasure to listen to that. I am actually working on different Blues projects and looking every time for good roots, I am always successful in Bills material.
All the best for Bluespeople spread all over the world from snowy white Hamburg, Germany.

Comments:As a student at Glasgow University in the mid-1950s I had the privilege of attending a Big Bill Broonzy concert in the late lamented St Andrew's Halls (burned down and never replaced). Now in my 70s and listening once again to the great man's music (through You Tube!!), I feel that the contribution that Big Bill made to helping European audiences understand how pernicious racism was in the USA during his lifetime, is worthy of much greater appreciation than currently appears online.

"It Was Just a Dream" which had the audience rocking with laughter at the lines:

"Dreamed I was in the White House, sittin' in the president's chair.
I dreamed he's shaking my hand, said "Bill, I'm glad you're here".
But that was just a dream. What a dream I had on my mind.
And when I woke up, not a chair could I find"

They aren't laughing no more!!

Comments:I love Bill dearly and he was one of the first blues guys I remember listening to. One of the first to REALLY make me take notice. I first heard him on a local college station when I was in my mid-teens and I was hooked. I grew up in a small North Carolina town where the main thing musically is contemporary country and/or bluegrass. But I loved blues and Bill really grabbed my attention the day I first heard him. He will always be one of the most important people in my mind...and in my heart. I have read that Bill was a peaceful kind of person. He certainly brings a sense of peace and REAL happiness to me. He was and still IS a very important figure of social awareness and in a great sense- civil rights. He was ahead of his time there.
Thank you and God bless you. Love you Bill.

First of all thanks for the site I have just discovered. Good to know that people care of such artist as Big Bill Broonzy.

I love his guitar playing and look to learn from his songs. I look for the tablatures of The Glory of Love and Bill Bayley. For The Glory of Love I found some tabatures on the web but they do not correspond to the smithonian recording.

Can you help me ?

Best regards.
