| Comments: | Hi. My name is Dick from Australia. I'm 58 and have been listening to Broonzy for as long as I can remember. Perhaps you can assist me. When I was a boy we had a 7 inch EP. One of the songs was a slow version of "I've been drinkin"
and in the middle of the song Bill stops playing and we hear him pour a drink, then says "another one", pours another, then completes the song. The records long since dissapeared but I would love to hear it again. Have you ever heard it? If so where might I get a copy? Thanks Dick |

| Comments: | I love the music of Big Bill. Particularly his pre-war material, recorded for black audiences. Interesting to hear about these uncertainties over his origins - true of so many early itinerant bluesmen.
I play my blues records to my 3 year old son, and he loves them, especially Big Bill, Leadbelly and Memphis Slim! |

| Comments: | While listening to CalmRadio.com I stumbled upon an interview of "Big Bill"... It took me some years back in to the past: my grandfather was born in 1901 and a lover of blues. He is the one who told me about Big Bill. At that time I was like 5 or 6, meaning that I have no real recollection of hearing the master play. Since my grandfather has been the father I never had, every memory about him moves me a lot...

I had the pleasure of meeting honeyboy Edwards and Hubert sumlin when they where in Boston last year. I have pictures backstage that are really special to me.I am in my 40's and not one of my friends has ever heard of them. | Comments: | Big Bill Broonzy edited and wrote commentary for a book called "Songs of Work and freedom," which I purchased in the 1960's. It is a great anthology of Union and Civil Rights songs. I hope it is still in print. It includes such songs as "The Winsboro Cotton Mill Blues," and "The Union Maid." I am very glad to have it. I wonder if it is still in Print. |

| Comments: | I was a folksinger in the sixties. CBC Radio Canada "Saturday Night Blues" just had a special about Big Bill Broonzy so I found this site. I had heard of Big Bill but had no idea his history went back so far. I also did not know he was dead before I ever heard of him. Very good site, thank you.
