| Comments: | Hello Heidi- I have painted with you several times in Eagles Nest, New Mexico. I have enjoyed my sled, my nutcracker box and my German cookie box. I branched out and tried several things on my own. I painted the roly poly santas and put them on the pull-box with wheels. Have not completed yet. I painted your santa with milk and put him on a small box for cookies to give to my sister last Christmas. She was impressed. I also took you pull-toys and made a pull-toy santa that works. He is real cute. Wish you could see him rolling along. I asked my new son-in-law to choose a piece I had painted and he chose my pull-toy Santa. You have been a great inspiration! Heidi, at one time you spoke of doing the Peter Ompir fruit? Have you done this anywhere and do you plan on teaching this? Also, I had a thought I wish to share with you. I bought an old possoum board (wooden ironing board without legs). They are a reasonable purchase. I thought it would make a perfect old world Santa. I thought,"if only Heidi would teach this, it would be great!" I know you have wonderful ideas and limited time. I will look forward to the day that I can devote to painting more and working less even though I really do like my job. I still havent' finished my box, but I also painted the design on a two step stool and a small stool, both of whcih I have finished. I am still quoting you on having been taught "badly" so I need to take more classes especially from Heidi!! I recently acquired a large tin tray that I think is a Peter Ompir, but it is not signed. From the research I have done it is definitly his style- the man carrying fruit on a stick- in this case a pear. So this is very exciting and the price was a mere $10! Remember at Christmas, I told you I was working at a fabric store, Well - you will be proud of me, I still am; but it is a Jo-Ann ETC store and I am also teaching painting. I haven't done a whole lot, but it's a start, right now I am kind of locked into a technique that I'm not real happy with, but I will be changing that soon. I have some questions for you, but will get to them at a later date. Our whole family(kids & grandkids) just got back from a Disney cruise and vacation - it was wonderful.
