thanks for notifying me of the uploading of your site. I'm afraid I have very little truck with religious fundamentalists. At present in their various forms they have hijacked the whole world agenda...from Bushy & his Bible thumping followers, to the extremist in the Arab-Israeli tussle, to Bin Laden, to the Hindu dominated government in India...the list goes on. These people have no hesitation in foisting their narrow views on the rest of us. Recent scientific insight and technology has driven fundamentalists into an ever tighter corner as they become increasingly threatened and hysterical. As more leaks appear in the middle of their dam of reason (a sign of deep structural breakdown) it will be hard to sustain any sort of coherant mythology. It is a world-view for a increasing bye-gone age. However, Haydn, let's not throw the baby out. If we realise that we are looking at poetry (deeper mythological truth) here and not prose (can only see things in terms of history and facts) there is a lot to rediscover in a new light. So, Haydn, you may or may not be a rabid fundamentalist. That's your right. If you're the former I'm sure we could rave on about the big questions for ages. If the later, I would be as intolerant of you as you are of me. |
