| Comments: | Hi, I owned a mk 2 from 1968 to about 1971. It was agreat cheap way of travelling. I used to go from Hull to college at Writtle near Chelmsford doing many runs, used it as a mobile suitcase packing stuff around me. Happy memories. The reg was 9624 RH (I think) swopped it for a Triumph Spitfire but wished I'd kept it ever since. |

| Comments: | I owned a Scootacr MK III for a few months in 1972 as my first motorised form of transport after passing my test. It was registered 5199 VT.
I am glad to see that the Scootacar is alive and well though these days most of my enjoyment is derived from two wheeled machinery. |

| Comments: | Hi. Just saw a programme on tv about bubble cars which made me look for info. My Dad (now passed away) was an engineer at Hunslet working on locomotives. We got a scoota car in about 1968. (A later model I think) We called it suki (did it have a suzuki engine?)and we crammed 4 kids in the back to go to the swimming baths! Dad drove it from Leeds to Ellesmere Port on the 'new M62'when he moved jobs in 1969. He said it was the most scary trip he ever made in it as it was very light, and susceptable to side winds. My Dad told me later that production was finally stopped as it was deemed to be too unstable and liable to turning over. (Warning for renovators!) It was used for the school run until we got a mini. Sadly it was given to the son of a family friend who stripped it and used it on a cart track! Unfortunately as it was just a little workhorse I have no photos of our little pale blue Scootacar. |

| Comments: | Thrilled to find your webpage. I had a scootacar when I was sixteen and unfortunately I dont have one single photo of my beloved pillar box red "pillar box" (as everyone called it) I dont think it was the one shown on your as I can't remember it having a spare wheel on the back-it must have been under the seat. I would love to know where I could find a picture of the other models. Please help!

PS When I bought my first scootacar, I wrote to Mr Brown, the designer. He had written a letter to Motorcycle Mechanics magazine (in the early 70's?). This letter, as I remember, extolled the benefits of small three-wheelers for city use, and the scootacar was mentioned. The letter gave his home address. I wrote to him on the offchance that he hadn't moved (1984?). He very kindly sent me some info on the car, and a sales brochure. Good bloke. |
