Comments:Around 1957 I was a choir boy at St Albans and the organist and choir master was Mr Roy Massey. I have very fond memories of those years that I spent there as a Choir boy. We sang at many churches around Birmingham at the time. Roy Massey also took all the younger choir boys youth hostelling to the Isle of White. It was a fantastic time of my life.

Comments:Researching artists of the Birmingham School, including Kate Bunce, Henry Payne and Sidney Meteyard. Thank you for preserving the evidence! Everything looks in wonderful condition.

For the record, Myra Bunce died 13 Nov 1918, which raises the question of who completed the inscription on the reredos. Regarding the sisters: Kate was born 25 Aug 1856. Edith Anne(Ann)lived 1850 - 1878 and a fourth sister sister Alice died in infancy (1852 - 1853). I'm looking for the Bunce family link to St Alban's. Will post here if I find it!

The family church however was St david's on Bissell St, But that also was demolished in 1947.

Comments:I was christened and confirmed in your magnificent church, served as an altar boy and was a member of the church choir. I unfortunately haven't set foot inside since 1958, but hope to change that on my next visit to the city. I find your web site very informative.

Comments:i was baptised in st albans church in 1949. my parents married there in 1948. their names were william and gladys barrett, and we all lived in stanhope street until 1958. father harding was the parish priest at that time assisted by father stock. i attended the church each sunday morning and sunday school in the afternoon and went to st. albans old school. i was also in the brownies which was run from the tin tac next to the church which sadly has been knocked down. it was lovely to find this website, it brought brought back many memories of a beautiful church in a bygone age. i am delighted that it is still thrieving today and continues to have so many people who care for it.

Comments: I was wondering what the congregations of your three churches maybe considering in the light of the new structure enablng dissaffected Anglican groups to join the Catholic Church. The influence of the community of St.Albans within the Achdioscese of Birmingham is considerable, four previously Anglican priests all previously associated with St.Albans in various capacities having all had "re-treads" as catholic priests now have parishes;and to my surprise and arising out of the recent unexpected and sudden death of my wife,I have discovered that our recently appointed p.p.a late vocation was a layman worshipping at St. Albans at one time which accounts for several of his innovations having a familar feelforme. It seems that our two faith communitiies are closer than we realise and that St.Albans already has a degree of recogntion and respect amongst local catholics greater than you might realise
