My new bike..!

http://www.g6urp.co.uk/bikes

Ok, here are a few photos of my new bike, let me know what you think..! It's a tad smaller than my old one, but at least I can get both feet on the ground now..!

Trouble is, since I had it, I don't think it's stopped raining for more than a few hours at a time :-(

Bikes..!

http://www.g6urp.co.uk/bikes

Ok, so I'm a lazy so & so and can't be bothered to post here..! Well nobody reads it anyway so who's to know..?! (Prove me wrong by signing my guest book, ok..?)

I've finally bought a new bike, much as I loved the old Yamaha XJ900S Diversion, I'd had it for 7 years so it was time for a change. I've now got a Honda CBF600SA-ABS, which is a little smaller than the 900 but easier for me, being rather a short-arse..! I can get both feet on the ground at the same time now..!

No photos yet but I've only had the bike since Saturday (it's Wednesday now) so give me a chance, you know I'm slow..!

Cat photos online :-)

http://photos.yahoo.com/g6urp

Ok, yes it's cats again..!

I've finally got around to put at least some of my many, many cat photos online..! There are some of the many cats that have passed through the doors of the Cats Protection Adoption Centre where I volunteer; some past, some present, some sadly no longer with us :-(

Please do have a look and let me know what you think :-)

There are also some of a visit I paid to a shelter in Newport Beach, California, it's amazing how they do things USA-style :-)

Finally, there are some of my own gorgeous Missy :-)

Cat News

http://www.g6urp.co.uk/catherine

Good news, gorgeous little Julia has been reserved, she'll be going home in the new year :-)

Some bad news though, I lost two of my old favourites, Catherine and Priscilla, both really old girls who'd been through the mill a bit before they reached us :-(

Catherine had just recovered from a thyroid operation, I thought she'd been doing so well... You can see some photos of her at the link above this post.

Been a bit quiet..!

http://www.g6urp.co.uk

Well sorry it's been a bit quiet here lately, but I do have an excuse, it's been absolutely hectic at work, well that's the excuse I'm sticking to, anyway..!

So. what to report..? Apart from work, I've been very busy at the Cats Protection shelter, we've had lots come and go, I actually got to name a new arrival a few weeks ago, she's around 18 months old and absolutely gorgeous (aren't they all..?!), I've called her Julia :-) Don't ask why, no idea really, I've always liked the name and she looks like a Julia :-) I'll try and get some photos of her on the web sometime, prod me if I don't, ok..?!

Cats..!

http://www.cats.org.uk

A very successful "open day" at the Cats Protection rescue shelter where I volunteer last weekend, over £2000 raised :-) The place was absolutely packed, with luck we'll get lots of cats adopted as a result..!

"The Prisoner" and other things..!

http://www.theunmutual.co.uk

Not much to report here since my last entry, this is in serious danger of becoming boring..! Not that it matters as it's unlikely anybody is reading it..! Always glad to be proved wrong though, sign the guestbook or send me a message via the website email page..!

Did have a good weekend over in North Wales a couple of weeks or so ago though, spent a couple of days motorcycling around Snowdonia, paying a visit amongst other places to Portmeirion, the amazing village probably best known to most as the setting for the mysterious village in the 60's TV series "The Prisoner" starring Patrick McGoohan.

As a great fan of the show, I've visited the village many times, this last visit was to an organised event for fans to raise money for a children's charity, I'm pleased to say that over £1000 was so raised and a great time was had by all :-)

Back to work :-(

Been a bit hectic the past few days since I got back to work after my 2 weeks off following Eve around the country..! Nobody had done much in my absence so I had loads of catching up to do, but that's what happens when you're indispensable ;-)

Not a lot else to report, no news about little Mistletoe, the gorgeous deaf cat that went missing about a month ago, I can't stop thinking about her, she was so sweet and trusting, now I don't know where she is :-(

Last date of Eve's tour :-(

http://www.eveselis.com/tour

Ok, two shows to report on here, firstly the Musician in Leicester on Wednesday. I've always liked that venue, mainly due to the fact that it was where I first met Eve back in November 2003, on her first trip to the UK.

The opening band, the Loving Cup, were great and had some good songs. Then Eve did her usual amazing set, and coupled with the excellent real ale available made for a brilliant evening :-)

On to Thursday, and the last show of my personal tour last night at the Broadway, Stourbridge. Only 30 miles from me, so the nearest one so far..!

Also I think that it was the best of them this year, partly due to the fact I'd managed to get some friends to come along. I'd been raving about Eve to them for three years, so I think they came to see what I'd been going on about <g> They all promised to come back next year though, so Eve's magic worked yet again..!

I must say something about Rosanna, my friend Colin's 9-year old granddaughter, who came along. I'd given her the "Do You Know Me" DVD for her birthday last year, as she and her family were unable to come to a show as they were away on holiday. She loves that song (I think she's almost worn out the DVD player..!) so I'd asked Eve beforehand if she would sing it for her, which she duly did, making a great evening brilliant :-)

Thanks yet again, Eve, looking forward to next year already..!

Eve's tour :-)

http://www.eveselis.com/tour

Well, my long journey (by bike..!) down to the Half Moon at Putney was worth it of course, another amazing gig..! I didn't make it to the show there last year (Eve's first gig there) as I was working, but it's an amazing place. There are loads of photos on the wall of artists who have appeared there at some stage in their careers, the Rolling Stones, Kate Bush, U2, loads more who I can't recall offhand..!

Two more to go this year (Leicester and Stourbridge) both local so not too much riding..! Boy was it HOT in London today..! At one point, I was so hot in my leather jacket I had to stop, take it off and sit on the kerb for 15 minutes to cool off..! Never had to do that in 26 years of biking before..! It's going to be even hotter tomorrow, according to the forecast, but I won't be setting out until evening so hopefully I'll miss the worst of the heat..!

Why can't we ever get the weather right in this country..?! It's either too hot or too cold..! As Eve said tonight, we brought the Southern California sunshine, but who brought the humidity..?!

Eve's tour

http://www.eveselis.com/tour

Well it just keeps getting better :-) A fabulous night at the Entertainment Shed in Bedford on Friday, I spoke to at least three people who had never seen Eve before but are now firm fans..! This is the effect this amazing lady has on people :-)

Mistletoe

I just heard today that little Mistletoe somehow managed to get out of the house where she was and is missing :-(

I'm sick with worry, I loved her so much, I hope she comes home soon...

Eve's tour :-)

Just back from a weekend up north, two incredible shows at the Cinnamon Club and the Met, what can I say about this incredible lady that hasn't already been said..?! I'm truly proud to know her :-)

Mistletoe :-)

http://www.cats.org.uk

I heard yesterday that Mistletoe, who was reserved a couple of weeks ago, has gone home at last :-) She's deaf and had been at the shelter since December, so it was great news to hear she had gone to a good home at last, although I was rather sad I wasn't able to be there to see her off.

Still, hopefully they'll send me some photos :-)

Eve Selis

http://www.eveselis.com/tour

Right, I'm just off to the Cinnamon Club in Altrincham, then it's the Met in Bury on Sunday night so a good weekend coming up :-)

Eve Selis

http://www.eveselis.com

Well she's here..! I wasn't sure she was going to make it at one point, when I heard that a drunk had delayed her plane for a couple of hours..!

Anyway, stalwart that she is, the first thing Eve did when she got out of the airport was head straight for BBC Radio Kent for an interview and live session, even though it was cut short through the delayed start..!

Now that's what I call professionalism :-)

Eve Selis

http://www.eveselis.com

It's that time of year again..! My friend Eve Selis from California is over on tour again next month..!

I was fortunate enough to be told about Eve a few years ago by a mutual friend in California and I met her on her first trip to the UK in 2003.

Since then, she's been back over several times and next month sees the whole band back for what promises to be a great tour :-)

If you like her kind of music (or even if you don't, you will after you've heard her..!) then make sure you bookmark the date of the nearest gig to you starting on Wednesday 6th July in Sussex and finishing on Sunday 23rd July in Newcastle, taking in 10 other spots all around the country in between :-)

Link for the shows page: http://www.eveselis.com/tour

I'll be at a good few of the shows so if you can make it to one maybe I'll see you there :-)

Cats Protection

http://www.cats.org.uk

Well I'm a happy bunny today, as some of you will know I volunteer at my local Cats Protection rescue shelter, or Adoption Centre as they're calling it now..!

One of my favourite cats there, Mistletoe, who is deaf and has been there since December, has been reserved and if all goes well will be going to a new home very soon :)

Last week, another one of my favourites, Basil (who claims to be 14 years old, but he doesn't look it..!) also went home, so it's been a good couple of weeks :)

Yes I know, the world and his wife all have blogs, so why should I be any different..?!

This is and will remain, a complete load of rubbish, so don't expect any different, ok..?!
