| Comments: | Like many other people I have just come across this site by chance. What a lot of fond memories. I attended the school between 1955 - 60 and my brother Terry followed me between 1958-63. It would be great to hear from anybody who remembers either of us. Like many others, my worked has taken me around the world. Now retired I live with my wife Tricia in Rochdale.
I particularly remember Walter Norris (and his wife) with fond memories. He joined the school some time during my first year. He happened to be a close friend of my father from their professional rugby league days. |

| Comments: | I went to Beamont between 74 and 79 and having just stumbled across this website I have recognised some of the names listed and have had a good laugh at how young the teachers look in the photos. I was fairly quiet and mostly flew under the Radar but I have many fond memories of Beamont Secondary Technical School.
I also read the note about Walter (Knocker) Norris and remember fondly the Tech Drawing Lessons when he politely told you that you would be hit with something, but that you could choose from the "Wally's Whackers" range from the Tatton Park Special down to the Flexi-Curve. For some reason, I always Remembered Mr Hoyle being "Doug Hoyle" and not the "Sam" that I have read here??? My form classes were 1R (Mrs Peover), 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B (all Phil Bibby...it was rumoured that nobody else wanted us???) and having read some of the other comments, there are a few names that I remember like Andy Morris, Alan Bibby, Karen and Julie (Reagan), Martin McNicholas. I also wonder what happened to "Grotch" (Dale Grocott), Mike Hardman, Ste Cooper, Neil Bailey, Neil Simpson, Catherine Sunderland and Lorraine Webb....to name but a few. I left Beamont and was in the pioneering year at Priestly College (the old Girls High School), along with Jackie Brown (who, incidentally is the last person who I had contact with from Beamont, knowing that she married Neil (Bailey)sometime in the 80's). After that I joined the RAF in 1982 leaving in 2005 to join BAE Systems at Warton near Preston. I am currently employed as an Instructor teaching Avionics of the Eurofighter Typhoon. My two children are 23 and 21 now, which makes me feel very old. My Dad (Robert ("Bob") Dunn) also went to Beamont somewhere around 1954 to 59 ish so it would be good to see if any of his old mates remember him. Great website...took me back a few years. Thanks. |

| Comments: | Nice site found when browsing (at work). Went to Beamont 1977 - 1982 and have great memories in particular of the unholy trio of Knocker Bibby & Brazier and their 'justice'. Dunc McArthur and Sammy Hoyle were also stars, and Paul Pritchard even if he is a scally. Regularly see 'JFK' the chemistry and physics maestro down the pub nowadays - lives around corner from me. I was brought up in Roome Street and went to Beamont nursery, infants, juniors and finally the seniors with Ronnie Birkett as headmaster and Mr Dutton as deputy. My best mates I suppose were Peter Jackson, Dick Hoey, John O'Neil. I remember many school vacations with Walt Norris and Jack Lord - Skerries in Ireland; lake Garda Italy; Southsea and the lake district. Just missed out on the school going mixed!! Still in Warrington - still helping to run RYLANDS ARLFC - come and have a pint if you know me, I am in Rylands Rec most weekends. I must say it was very exciting finding this site and brought back many memories. Brilliant. |

| Comments: | I went to Beamont School(1957-1962).Head boy 1962.Mr. Birkett was the Headmaster,Lordy was incharge of art,Mr. Norris took us for rugby along with Geoff Lyons, Fanny Yates took the younger boys for History,Taffy Williams took Maths (the best shot with a piece of chalk). Names I can Recall:- Allan Critchley,Ian Crozier, Arthur Pottage, we spent avery eventful week in the Lake District. David Cross, Jeff Williams and many others.

| Comments: | I attended Oakwood at the old school and then the new property during the late 60's early 70s' My sister Chris and brother Denis were also students there. I moved to a job in Manchester after my time at Warrington Art school then dropped off the planet and lost touch with everyone in Warrington. I have been in NZ since 75 and only had two trips back in 80 and 89. Sorry to hear the school has been bowled.For those that are interested I have a family here and a job in childrens mental health. | Comments: | I went to Beamont from 1975 - 1979, my brother David Fairbrother also went there. I found this web site by accident. My brother is still in Warrington and owns Fairbrothers buses. I have lived in many places. At the moment I am in Gilbert Arizona. I have two Daughters 21 & 23 and two grandsons (one surviving) a granddaughter and another on the way. I was a Librarian for 8 years but right now I'm just taking life as it comes. Julie Reagan also lives out in this area and has six children. I have so many fond memories, Knocker Norris, Beryl Lightfoot, Phil Bibby..the list goes on. It would be great to hear what people are up to. I just spent Christmas there with my mum and dad, they are still on South Ave. Hopefully I'll be back this summer 2005. |

Great web site! A lot of good and bad memories, as any kid trying to make it. All I can say is that Knocker scared the crap out of me but I respected him. Bibby was cool as was Hoyle. I could only look up to Kevin the runner as I watched him run through town on weekends. Gus O`Rourke was the the biggest bully going and deserved his ass kicked many times over and I had a small crush on Sue Potter! |
