This ship is special and holds special feeling. I have the highest respect to all who serve on her. I wish all who serve on her the best of luck, and take care of eachother. You all are a part of a wonderful family, marines and navy alike. Good luck to you all. Dawn Coplan From Little Rock , Arkansas

tour of duty in Londonderry Northern Ireland. He would be
94 if alive today. Probably a long shot but if anyone has
pics or names from that time period it would be interesting
to compare notes.

I will not leave my phone number on the internet for a $12 purchase. I choose which credit card I will use, not you. If you do not accept it - do not list it. I tried to respond under contact but your system would not allow it. Enjoy.

Comments:My father, Henry M. Wilson was a YNC on BB34 in the early 1940's. He always spoke with pride and honor about the New York and her crew. Being that the New York was too large to bring back to his home in Lavonia Georgia, he settled on marrying a gorgeous young woman from Brooklyn instead. Mom and Dad passed on a number of picture/scrap books of their lives during that time. They instilled great pride in our country and those who chose to protect her. I later became a Vietnam Navy Veteran as a result of these beliefs. The new vessel has a high standard to live up to.

The Franklin D Roosevelt was NFDR(in 63); will this ship's call sigh be NYII or give it 5digits?, such as NYC11. It would never have to be decoded by a radioman for officers' reading.
