I just read your feature at romantic inks, and I've seen you around the Divas forum. I wanted to tell you I found your story brave and fascinating. I'm a club brat of the 80's too. Never went goth- I don't believe in black, but I'm a close cousin. Thought I'd share a flash fic I wrote:
The rhythm was everything. So loud there was no conversation, no thought. It consumed. The thumping echoed inside. Slashes of red and green cut across the drifting black ghosts. Each hung its own space, bowing, bending, folding, reaching. The mirrors shone through the fake mist. Songs of darkness, despair, rage. They moved their feet as one, choreographed in their respect. This was the church of the outsiders. You didn’t get up early for it, you stayed up late. Every week she was baptized by the rhythm, watching, understanding this human communion wrapped in defiance. She loved this club. | |

Hi! Reading Redemption now, read "Pat Down" last night (that was cool...have to go back & read the other stories, by the other authors), read "Twice the Cowboy" after the vote was in, so I'm glad you one that award (it's my fav so far!), still to read "My Brother, Coyote" and "Lord Carabas". And I've also went back to the yahoo chat group and was searching on all your posts...and saw the excerpt about a second story from Twice the Cowboy, so will be looking forward to Jess & Manuel's return (do you need to nudge your beta reader some more????)
