It is commercial, and does require a backend server (written in java and portable to just about anything). The front-end is written in Flash, so it loads very quickly and has some really nice looking skin abilities. User-controllable avatars, and the bottom of the screen has a row of dice from d4 to d100, just click one and it rolls, telling everyone what you rolled. I'm not associated with the company in any way - I've just been looking around at content management systems and chat systems for a customer, and I ran across your post after playing with the flashchat demo and thought I'd let ya know that your idea is already available! -- Evan |
