| Comments: | At Alpha Lambda's September meeting, the membership voted to donate $1,000.00 to the International Emergency Fund to assist with Katrina victims who are Society members. With Hurricane Rita nearing landfall the fund will become depleted soon. Thanks to our membership for helping other sisters. |

| Comments: | Pi Chapter collected $182 for the International Emergency Fund at our Tuesday night meeting. We will continue to collect for this great project at several meeting this year. It is the least we can do for our sisters in Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi. I hope that all Xi State Chapters will take this opportunity to contribute as much as they can to the Emergency Fund. We know that it will be hit hard by members who are victims of Hurricane Katrina. Keep the prayers flowing for all the victims.

We have a special founder of Alpha Pi who will turn 97 on August 22.2005. Mrs. Bertha Ashley was on of the ladies who started our group in 1948. We think she is Xi States oldest living member.If you can tell us of any other member in Tennessee ,please let us know. She would love a birthday card from you or your chapter. Her address is 622 Iris Drive, Manchester,TN 37355.Mrs. Ashley spoke to our group for our Founder's day meeting last year. She told us about her fourty plus years of teaching and supervising teaching. |
