| Comments: | Dear Mr. Keith,
I just purchased one of your 12/11 hammered dulcimers from an e-bay auction. This will be my first hammered dulcimer, but I have been wanting one for years. I cannot wait to get started learning to play. I see you live in Mississippi (Clinton?). I live in Ellisville, MS. I have a question for you. Although I haven't received the dulcimer yet, the description said that one or two of the tuning pins are broken and need replacing. Can you recommend someone in this area who could do that for me, or are you still doing any kind of repairs? |

| Comments: | My mother, Lorraine, and I lived in Lockport, LA. when I was in the 3rd grade. She brought home your Lap Dulcimer she had purchased on a trip. My father, Trevor, had stated once that one can always tell a good instrument if it resembles a lovely woman. Well my mother took that to heart. The instrument she purchased from you truly fit that description. She bought it for herself but I took it over of course right away.
I left for the west coast at 18 leaving all I've known including the instrument behind (due to it being hers). At age 25 she gave it to me to keep. I am now 37 and play to my children during bathtime. They are 3 and 5 and seem to be quite jaded by the experience at this point. I, however, still love that lonesome sound of the drone. The bridge and nut have a great petina to them and the tuners are ivory in color. The wood is lovely and the sound is full. I thank you Sir for our wonderful piece of family history. Much love and happiness, Seth. |

| Comments: | My wife and her sisters are from Westpoint Mississippi. One sister Maya met Heidi Muller in West Virginia http://www.heidimuller.com/ who was teaching a Dulcimer class. They talked about Missisippi and the nice Dulcimer made by J. B. Keith in Clinton Missisippi in 1998. Now I have the Dulcimer.
Thank you |

| Comments: | Mr. Keith,
We were lucky enough to acquire one of your instuments, a beautiful dulcimer. We'd like to find out more about this particular instument. Can you send me an email address and we could send you a picture? The owner was about 90 years old and moving to an assisted care facility. We live in Germantown, TN. Thank you for any help you can give us. Diane and Fred Stearns |

| Comments: | Just needed to add a note to your sign in book that you are also the one that inspired me to become a dulcimer player! 12 years ago you were in Longview, Tx at the annual Alley Art Festival in June. There you were playing that wonderful music that drew my attention. I purchased the hammered dulcimer that year (11/12) and I am still playing the hammered dulcimer and have also learned to play the Mt. Dulcimer
Thank you for your inspiration JB. I know you have affected many peoples' lives. It is great! I have also formed a dulcimer jamming group in our area, so because of you I too, have helped others. Friends in music, Sharon |

| Comments: | My husband and I met you at a mall in Shreveport Louisiana in 1982. My husband thought about the dulcimers we saw and at a later date ordered a small 3 stringed dulcimer from you. However I am the one who has learned to play a little on this instrument. I stress little bit. I have a problem tuning it. Not a problem with dulcimer. Its a problem with me. Would like to know what kind of electronic tuner I could use. Also what are the strongest strings?I was thinking about buying a different string instrument but I think I should dust off the dulcimer and practice to learn better.Would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks and god bless.

| Comments: | Hello Mr. Keith,
I met you a few years back in downtown Jackson, MS at a festival/fair of some kind and played your dulcimers. I wanted to thank you for allowing me to play your instruments. I was young at the time. I think I was about 9 or 10 and had only been playing a few months. I'm still playing the dulcimer and I still love the music. Hope to see you again soon. |

| Comments: | I was given a tape of Bluegrass music by my son. And on this tape I heard music I haven't heard since I was a very little girl back in South. I discovered that this music was created by a hammered dulicmer.
So onto the net I went to look up information about this. That's how I came across your site. Now you have me pondering the thought of purchasing and learning to play a hammered dulicmer. I have bookmarked your site for later reading and more detailed information. Thank you for your inspiration and motivation. |

| Comments: | I am also looking for free sheet music for the mountain dulcimer, and would enjoy speaking with fellow dulcimer players. Although, I am only a novice,I LOVE "my baby". Being originally from the mountains of Tennessee, these are the sounds of my childhood. The sounds of the dulcimer bring calm and serenity to my life. I am looking forward to advancing my skills. If you have any information that would help, I would be greatly in your debt. THANK YOU |

| Comments: | i'm from an old dulcimer building family. i am continously amazed at the resurging interest in this instrument. when i was learning the craft from my grandfather in hindman,ky. very few people even knew what one was. now everyone does. i think the old man would have been pleased with the interest in the instrument he spent so much of his life trying to preserve.
he learned to build them from a man named "uncle" eddie thomas. and built them out of hindman till his death. my father is now the family maker, as will i be upon his passing. keep makin' and playin'. mike a. |

| Comments: | Mr. J.B. You look like the kind of person that really enjoys what he is doing. Building and playing music. Keep up the good work. Here is my delima. I (like a lot of people) am a poor man. In view of that I have built my own Hammered Dulcimer. The kids have picked it up now and are getting into it. I have a 15-14 curently but would like to build a bigger dulcimer. Do you know where I can get plans for such an instrument? Or what about the string calculations it would take to make the 15-14 bigger? What about wound strings? Maybe someday I'll be able to meed up with you. Thanks for your time. Marvin
ps Do you have a building book or plans you sell? |

| Comments: | My husband plays the hammered dulcimer and I play mountain dulcimer. My newest (fourth) dulcimer is a fully chromatic bass Blue Lion. It has a wonderful sound, but is quite different to play. I perform with my friend Nancy Blough (she plays over 30 instruments, including a Celtic harp, pennywhistle, and autoharp) as a duo (The Spinster Sisters) in northern Indiana. We enjoyed your web site. |
