Comments:Mr. Keith I hope you are feeling well. I inherited my mother's dulcimer when she passed away in 2003. I found your name inside of the dulcimer. Learning how to play it has been a joy.
Thank you for all of the beautiful music that you have made possible.

My girlfriend (now wife) and I came to your house around 1980, and she bought me a walnut dulcimer. It's still one of my most treasured possessions. I also own one of your hammered dulcimers.

Thank you for making my life, and my children's lives, just a little richer.

God bless you and yours!

Comments:If you're the guy I think you are, I watched you working on dulcimers (in the summer of 1979) on the porch of the Craftsman's Guild of Mississippi's Crafts Center on the Natchez Trace at Ridgeland, and later at the Guild's crafts show at the fairgrounds in Jackson. (I was there demonstrating splitting shingles with a froe.)
I wanted to have you build me one, but I could never decide what sound-holes I wanted. I've regretted my indecision ever since, but am now getting into instrument building myself, so maybe I'll finally have a hand-built dulcimer, if, that is, I can finally make up my mind about those holes!
I'm glad to find you have a web site!

Comments:Dear Mr. Keith,
I just purchased one of your 12/11 hammered dulcimers from an e-bay auction. This will be my first hammered dulcimer, but I have been wanting one for years. I cannot wait to get started learning to play. I see you live in Mississippi (Clinton?). I live in Ellisville, MS. I have a question for you. Although I haven't received the dulcimer yet, the description said that one or two of the tuning pins are broken and need replacing. Can you recommend someone in this area who could do that for me, or are you still doing any kind of repairs?

Comments:My mother, Lorraine, and I lived in Lockport, LA. when I was in the 3rd grade. She brought home your Lap Dulcimer she had purchased on a trip. My father, Trevor, had stated once that one can always tell a good instrument if it resembles a lovely woman. Well my mother took that to heart. The instrument she purchased from you truly fit that description. She bought it for herself but I took it over of course right away.
I left for the west coast at 18 leaving all I've known including the instrument behind (due to it being hers). At age 25 she gave it to me to keep. I am now 37 and play to my children during bathtime. They are 3 and 5 and seem to be quite jaded by the experience at this point. I, however, still love that lonesome sound of the drone.
The bridge and nut have a great petina to them and the tuners are ivory in color. The wood is lovely and the sound is full. I thank you Sir for our wonderful piece of family history.
Much love and happiness,
Seth.

We were lucky enough to acquire one of your instuments, a beautiful dulcimer. We'd like to find out more about this particular instument. Can you send me an email address and we could send you a picture? The owner was about 90 years old and moving to an assisted care facility. We live in Germantown, TN.
Thank you for any help you can give us.

Comments:Just needed to add a note to your sign in book that you are also the one that inspired me to become a dulcimer player! 12 years ago you were in Longview, Tx at the annual Alley Art Festival in June. There you were playing that wonderful music that drew my attention. I purchased the hammered dulcimer that year (11/12) and I am still playing the hammered dulcimer and have also learned to play the Mt. Dulcimer
Thank you for your inspiration JB. I know you have affected many peoples' lives. It is great! I have also formed a dulcimer jamming group in our area, so because of you I too, have helped others.

Comments:My husband and I met you at a mall in Shreveport Louisiana in 1982. My husband thought about the dulcimers we saw and at a later date ordered a small 3 stringed dulcimer from you. However I am the one who has learned to play a little on this instrument. I stress little bit. I have a problem tuning it. Not a problem with dulcimer. Its a problem with me. Would like to know what kind of electronic tuner I could use. Also what are the strongest strings?I was thinking about buying a different string instrument but I think I should dust off the dulcimer and practice to learn better.Would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks and god bless.

I met you a few years back in downtown Jackson, MS at a festival/fair of some kind and played your dulcimers. I wanted to thank you for allowing me to play your instruments. I was young at the time. I think I was about 9 or 10 and had only been playing a few months. I'm still playing the dulcimer and I still love the music. Hope to see you again soon.

Comments:I was given a tape of Bluegrass music by my son. And on this tape I heard music I haven't heard since I was a very little girl back in South. I discovered that this music was created by a hammered dulicmer.
So onto the net I went to look up information about this.
That's how I came across your site. Now you have me pondering the thought of purchasing and learning to play a hammered dulicmer.
I have bookmarked your site for later reading and more detailed information.
Thank you for your inspiration and motivation.
