I bought a used promo copy of Limb in Amoeba in S.F. about two years ago, it has since been my favourite melancholy afternoon driving companion. I have witnessed the passing of some of the most poignant landscapes of my life time listening to his tragic love sick sound track. As a song smith and poet I put him up there with the greats, Beatles, The Church, Elvis C, Leonard to name just a few. He has made the great conventions his own, recombinant and sensual...

In 1979, or there abouts, a songwriter featured on
Piccadilly Radio in Manchester UK. His name was Paul
Rafferty and he played live on air late at night. About the
same time, he appeared on New Faces. Does anyone have any
Information about what happened to him and how I can get
recordings of his beautiful music? Any info would be

Man! I found the "drag" song over a year ago now I think,
and was waiting for him to put out some more. I'm actually
going to buy the cd now that I have also heard collide, and
believe me... I DON'T buy cd's.
The lyrics and tone of the song struck some chord in me. I
played that song on repeat until I drove everyone crazy.
Still do when I'm driving.
What I can't believe is that Justin was HERE in my hometown
and I didn't know! Right up the block at Border Books in
Seattle, and I missed it. Oh the pain!
Ah well. I hear he enjoyed the drive to his next gig.
Perhaps he'll be back soon.

I'm a DJ at University of Michigan-Dearborn, and had the
good fortune of having *Limb* dropped on my lap to review in
October. "Wow, this is pretty good stuff" was my impression
during the first listen. It soon became practically a part
of my stereo, and I've played a song from the CD on every
show since, and featured it on my "recommended plays" sheet
I posted in the DJ booth. It was highlighted by another DJ
with a big arrow, saying "PLAY!", and got to #5 on our
chart.
I'm glad I found this site (good job!), and also hope Justin
gets around to touring somewhere near Detroit.
What an album! Definitely one of my top records -- if not my
abolute top record -- of the 90s.

Heard about JC in CMJ Monthly sampler and purchased his CD
after hearing "Tragic". Being a huge fan of the Church I
was pleasantly surprised to see that his CD was produced by
Marty Wilson-Piper. I really enjoy his music and look
forward to the opportunity to see him live. So far, I have
only seen West Coast tour dates with Sebadoh. Fingers
crossed until he makes his way eastward to Detroit....
