The last time I saw you two in concert was in 2001 at Wolf Trap in Virginia. I was in the third row there when you two plyed alomost every song you recorded that made it to the top 10 on the charts.
IAm SURE you two dont remember me Don and Phil, but I was on Parris Island ( pleasure island) when you came aboard in 1961. It was my pleasure to meet you then.
IAm hoping to one day soon to see you in concert again. I am now in Orlando Florida, and would love to hear your music in person.

Comments: Dear Don and Phil,

You've always meant so much to me. I was lucky; when I was seven, in 1957, my older brother got a transistor radio and we'd stay up til nine to listen to the rock and roll show with Tom Moffat and Ron Jacobs on KPOI, Honolulu, with the show, “Uncle Tom’s Cabin,”. Your music has been with me my whole life. I did see you once, in Utah, many years ago, and you were great.

Tonight I was playing guitar and singing "I Wonder If I Care" to my grown daughter and she sighed and said what a sad song...

Thanks ever so much,

Love Patrick Easterling

I hope they play more gigs sometime someday and that I will be able to enjoy yet another Everly Bros. concert. Their combination of country, pop, folk, and rock and roll, blending acoustic and electric, with that tight, melodic harmony, is simply phenomenal, and there will never be an act like them again.

Comments: I was 11 in 1957 when "Bye Bye Love" hit the airways. I loved the harmony of the Brothers and still buy their material 52 years later. I remember my Mother poking fun at the way Don and Phil pronounced 'keer' in "I Wonder if I Care As Much". It was pretty "country" and I was in Milwaukee, WI, not exactly a hotbed for that kind of music. It pains me to know we'll never hear and new recordings from Don and Phil. Thanks, guys.

for it.// Around the time of that album my future wife and I had parted a second time- a long distance romance drama. By chance ( the God of romance would say othewise), we met as we exited your concert at Wolftrap. The rest is history. A fitting story for one of your songs! Comments: Hi Martial,

The celebrity cookbook, which you forwarded a recipe from the Everly Brothers is complete. The cookbook “Favorite Recipes of Kentucky Celebrities” has over 300 recipes from local and national personalities, highly visible Kentucky businesses, artist, writers, athletes, sportsmen, actors, musicians, bed and breakfasts, restaurants, notable events and places. (I have a list of contributors at the end of the e-mail). The publisher released it Monday, Nov 24. Just in time for the holidays.

My goal is to use the cookbook as a fundraiser for non-profit and charitable organizations. Fifty percent of any individual copies I sell will be given to local Paducah charities. The other fifty percent is to cover my cost. It is also my gift to any non-profit organization, which would like to use it as a fundraiser. If you know of an organization, which would be interested in selling the cookbook as a fundraiser, I would love to help them with it. I feel God has blessed me and this is a way I can give back to the community.

Some examples of organizations planning to sell the cookbook are the International Bluegrass Museum, the Kentucky Derby Museum, and the Kentucky History Center, which plan to sell it in their gift shops.

There are several organizations including Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murray, Kentucky, Grand Rivers Tourism, and Friends of Daniel Boone National Forrest, that are going to sell it through a prepaid fundraiser. They are going to take orders, collect the money, and then pay me for my cost.

In addition, several groups are going to sell it during a festival or community event such as Bluegrass Balloon Festival and Penn Stores Outhouse Blowout Race (It is carried on ESPN!) J

If you would like to use the cookbook as a fundraiser or would just like an individual copy, please feel free to contact me. If you would like an individual copy, they are $19.95 each with $2.95 for shipping. If you would like 3 or more copies, the shipping would be $2.00 each. I have been working on this project for a several years and I hope it will be a great way to help various organizations all across Kentucky.

Again, thank you for sending a recipe and God’s blessings.

Comments: Absolutley the greatest harmonizing duet ever; their voices, together, sounded like one beautiful voice! I'll never forget the memories they gave us!

Comments: When I was a young teen in Nashville I used to go on Saturday morning and get my hair cut by Ike Everly. The men in the shop always said that he was the father of the Everly Brothers. I always thought that was true but wasn't sure. Every time we would hear an Everly Brothers song on the radio my kids would laugh when I would say, "Their father used to cut my hair". After 20 years of telling them that I finally looked it up and see that it was true. I just saw a 1983 Everly Brothers concert on public television and I knew it the minute I saw Phil. Add a little gray hair and he looks just like I remember Ike. Never knew that Ike had been a performer in his own right.

Comments: We had the pleasure of watching them perform in their home state in Ashland Kentucky about 8 years ago. It is such a pleasure to see the ones who were only voices on the radio so long ago. (We recently saw Dion Of the Belmonts with the same delight.)
I've seen many of the great ones and some I missed. I had several chances to see Ricky Nelson and Presley but didn't go. My wife saw Presley and still rubs it in.
Enough rambling, but if I ever get a chance to see the boys again I'll be there.

Comments: What a wonderful site! What took me so long to look for it? A few days ago, I brought out some now-old EB LPs for a guilty pleasure after work. I found that I couldn't stop listening. They were my absolute favorites when I was growing up. Now at 62 years young, I still have a soft spot for their beautiful voices and harmonies. Thank you so much, Don and Phil. And thank you to everyone who posts to this site - it's so nice to hear from people who feel the same way.
