Comments:went to see Jerry at beltera back in Indiana. Was a great show, very, very short, no encore, no T-shirts, no auto biography, and the whole floor was reserved for "high Rollers"
I payed 35.00 a ticket, waited in line for 6 hours to be seated at the far left next to the exit, looking at his back!!
If he's going to take these high paying, short casino shows, at least put in the ryder that the floor is for fans not the "whales"! I watched him walk right off the stage right out the door right into the waiting bus. Off into the night without thanking the people who made him what he once WAS!! I couldn't have been more disapointed!! A book signing would have been just as nice, and about as eventfull!!

We are passing your music on to our kids and they are soaking it up like little sponges! My 8 year old daughter knows all the words to "Great Balls of Fire" and can't get enough. Thank you Mr. Lewis, for all of your hard work and dedication to Rock and Roll/Blues Music. Without your love of the piano, this world would have been like a sky with out the color blue. Life would have only been black, white, and gray.

Comments:Why is it taking so long for the new CD to come out? I mean, they have recorded more than enough material now, haven't they?

Could it be that they're trying to pull a "Ray Charles" here? That is, holding the album until the Killer passes away and THEN releasing it, for better sales?

I certainly hope not...

Hi Tex

happens (and it wouldn't be the first time ) he's the last guest artist on the Pilgrim ...21 tracks ....22 guests !!!! Feel free to inform the fans .

Comments:I have been a fan of Jerry Lee's since my Daddy started me playing Jerry Lee style piano when I was about 5. (I am 44 now and I can't play like Jerry Lee!) I have been waiting so long for a good sound quality CD of Mr. Lewis playing. I have always wanted to see him play in person but never have. Next time he is somewhere at a small enough venue that I can actually see him playand I can find out about it in time, I am going to see him play. I was able to be on a three way phone conversation with Lonnie Mack and a mututal friend from Ohio a few weeks ago and Mr. Mack said that he saw Jerry Lee earlier this year and that he never sounded and played so good! He said it was going to be a great albumn! He thought it was coming out this Summer. I just can't wait for the CD. Will there be a DVD too? Comments:JERRY LEE LEWIS PRE-SHOW MEET SUNDAY JUNE 26TH AT "THREE SISTERS AMSTERDAM"!

For everybody wanting to meet other fans prior to Jerry Lee's show Sunday June 26th there will be a pre-show meet again at "Three Sisters Amsterdam" at the Kleine-Gartmanplantsoen 5 (everybody is also welcome there after the show)! The very best location in the city of Amsterdam for such a 'warming up party'!

This café is a two-minute walk away from the Paradiso club and is an establishment with good food (there is also a steak house, "New York Steakhouse", on the upper floor) and - for this special occasion - as of 11 am A PIANO ready to be played by Killer fans!! For sure there'll be several musicians among the fans ready to get you warmed up for the big show. Don't miss this! Last year's pre-show meet at "Three Sisters Amsterdam" was a huge success as those of you who were there will remember (click on "Tour UK/the Netherlands 2004" in the "Pictures" section of this site for some great shots of last year's party).

"Three Sisters Amsterdam" opens at 11 am (closing time around 1 am).

Important:
Café "Three Sisters Amsterdam" has several branches in Amsterdam. The meeting place is NOT the 'grand pub' "Three Sisters Amsterdam" right behind the tram stop, but the one closer to Paradiso. So make sure you have the right address on you!

If so, would it be possible to send them to me so I can forward them to Jimmy? I'm sure he would really enjoy them and it would also be a nice way to show our appreciation for everything he's doing.

Keep rockin' y'all and Maarten keep up the great work.

Comments:A great show at the American Music Theatre last night. Jerry Lee seemed like he was in very good mood spirits. A really nice mix of music from throughout his career. The Killer served up a few Chuck Berry tunes, a rocking performance on the piano for "Drinking Wine Spo-Dee-Dee" and "Don't Put No Headstone on my Grave." I was happy to hear my personal fav, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," too. A very nice job on "You Belong to Me." The show closed with "Whole Shakin" and "Great Balls of Fire," of course. The man can still play the piano like no one else, have no fear. He sounds exactly like Jerry Lee Lewis.

Comments: PIC OF JERRY, NEIL AND JIMMY IN THE STUDIO!

Jerry's producer Jimmy Rip must've hit the sack real late last night. Around 11.00 p.m. this morning (02.00 a.m. overthere in the States I think) he sent me another pic of Jerry in the studio (it looked like there were two but when I tried to open the second one it said "no preview available. I'll check on this when I'm home). This time a pic of The Killer together with Jimmy himself and 'Pilgrim' gueststar Neil Young! Will forward the pic to Maarten and Jean Pierre (don't forget to check out his excellent website as well) in a few minutes. Be sure I've thanked Jimmy for this great shot right away on behalf of all of you.

By the way, in the mail I received this morning Jimmy informed me who took that great picture with Ringo he recently sent and this one with Neil Young: "The Ringo pic photographer is Colin Finlay. The JLL , Neil Young and myself photographer is James Saez ."

PARADISO SHOW, AMSTERDAM, JUNE 26TH 2005

Just like last year things also look very promising for this year's Paradiso show. Hundreds of pressreleases (plus picture) have been mailed out to the media, fans etc. etc. and have been posted on countless forums, web-logs, in guestbooks, you name it. About 2000 flyers have been dropped and handed out at two big events etc. etc. Both pressreleases and flyers include some basic info on the new album. In the meantime just about every newspaper has already announced the show. Only a few more days to go now before the tickets go on sale and 'hell breaks loose' again. We're expecting the show to sell out again in no time!
A big thank you to Niek, Sebastiaan (this 17 year old guy is amazing!) and Maarten for their help and of course Patrick and Jan Willem for their confidence in The Killer. See y'all on the 26th!!

Comments: SOME QUESTIONS AND SOME ANSWERS. MORE INFO ON 'THE PILGRIM'!

TEX: Thanks so much for all the info and that fabulous pic! Maarten, webmaster of The Start Page, and the fans on the Yahoo Group (Jerry Lee forum) have asked me to thank you for the very informative update and beautiful pic
and tell you how much they appreciate it.
You mentioned 22 gueststars in your most recent mails (so two more than in the previous ones). Does this mean there'll also be 22 tracks or are these 22 stars on the 20 tracks you mentioned before?
Do you know the photographer's name and would he mind if magazines would publish it?
A question about what you said about that Georgia Satelites song. Do you mean that one hasn't been recorded at all?

JIMMY (April 30th): Actually there's 21 tracks and 21 guests . Rock and Roll has no guest and Mick and Woody are on the same track .
I'll be talking to the Photog. this week and I'll let you know about letting the shot get published .
Stacie's track has been moved to the follow up c.d. to the Pilgrim .
The Georgia Satellites song was recorded but didn't quite hit the mark and was abandoned .
Good luck
always great to hear from you

TEX (additional info): I'm sure many of you have already read Ron Wood plays slide-guitar on Jerry's duet with Mick Jagger and no band was called in for the session that produced What's Made Milwaukee Famous, Miss The Mississippi And You and Lost Highway (so piano and vocals only on these three tracks). Rod Stewart's guestvocals were added to What's Made Milwauke Famous and Delaney Bramlett can be heard on Lost Highway but I assume you already knew this.

Comments:TWO E-MAILS FROM JIMMY RIP PLUS... A GREAT PIC OF JERRY, RINGO AND THE GANG IN THE STUDIO!!

It's been quite a day today. Saw the TCB Band off this afternoon (Glen D. Hardin, Jerry Scheff and my wonderful friend James Burton), then discussed the latest developments with your webmaster Maarten who also hooked up my computer (thanks buddy and it was good to see ya again), checked my e-mails and guess what...??? There were two from Jimmy (Rip) plus an absolutely GREAT picture I'm sure y'all enjoy. Here's what Jimmy had to say:

Hey Tex
I'll have a big anouncement soon about a new label and release date for The Pilgrim . Sorry to say it means the record will be delayed just a little bit but trust me it's worth it .
In the meantime .....
The track by track listing on the Start Page is getting pretty out of date . Let me help .....a little . The Georgia Sattelites song was never on the record . Miss the Mississippi and You , Last Cheaters Waltz and Why You Been Gone So Long have been moved to the next record ,to be released after The Pilgrim . Ivan Neville plays organ on one track ( Sweet Little 16 with Ringo ) but is not a guest artist
Also , in response to Barrie Gamblin in the new Fire Ball Mail ( I read every word , thanks for sending it ) , let me assure you that when possible the guest artist's were in the studio with Jerry and no one who has heard the record has been able to tell who was and who wasn't . I'm not a fan of pasted together "duet records" and I've worked very hard for four years to make sure this will not be one !!
Jerry Lee is a true living legend and a blinding musical genius , the 22 guest artist's who have joined with him on this record ( Bono is not one of them ) are all his friends , his musical children , or both . But , the proof is in the pudding ...and I can't wait for the world to taste it .
thanks
Jimmy Rip

with the Killer.
Tex....
I know all the fans would love to get a peek at Jerry in the studio making The Pligrim . Here's a shot from the very last session at the Record Plant in LA .
Left to right
Keith Allison , Nils Lofgrin , myself , Ringo , Jim Keltner , JLL , Hutch Hutchinson , Ivan Neville , and Kenny Lovelace (I've just mailed this fabulous pic to Maarten) and you'll find it elsewhere on the site later today I guess: TEX).
I've never seen Jerry happier , or heard him play better than that night .
I really appreciate the incredible patience the fans have shown waiting for the release. Trust me, there's never been a record like this one ....22 stars .....and the last true American original........ JERRY LEE!!!!!!
As always feel free to share this with all the fans .
Thanks
Jimmy Rip

Hey Tex
Thanks for the info (Jimmy had asked me who the writer of Before The Night Is Over was and it was Ben Peters: TEX), Ben Peters is a great addition to all the writers whose songs are on the new record .
We had a truly great session here in LA last night . Ringo came in to sing Sweet Little Sixteen with Jerry Lee , then , Jim Keltner and Ringo played some thunderous double drumming on Roll Over Beethoven with Kenny , myself , Hutch Hutchinson , Ivan Neville and Nils Lofgrin backing Jerry Lee up . Sweet Little Sixteen with Ringo is the last addition to the new album ( we've gotta stop sometime so ya'll can hear this thing
!!!! )
Please tell all the fans to be patient , I know it's been a long time commin' but trust me , it's worth it . Jerry's health and spirit are just gettin' better and
better , this is gonna be a great year .
Thanks
Jimmy Rip

Comments: Hi there,
I have been a lifelong fan of Jerry since I wrote to Sun Records way back in 1957 to get his first Sun releases. His talent and his unique brand of Rock and Roll has outlasted all others and no doubt will still be shakin, the walls when most of us are long gone. I got to see Jerry in concert first in 1962 over here in England having been unfortunate not to have had the chance to see him on the first UK tour in 1958 even though I booked a ticket.
A few years ago I visited Frankie Jeans Ferriday Museum where this lovely lady and her husband Marian Terrel were kindness itself telling stories about Jerry Lees life and the rest of the family. I spent about four hours in their company something that I shall treasure all my life. It is good to see there is his new c.d. The Pilgrim is due out in a month or so, if there is any justice in the world it should sell a million!

I'm sure the message below I received from Jerry's producer Jimmy Rip February 1st will get y'all real excited en will get this site 'some' extra views:

Hey Tex

Well it looks like we finally have a real release slot for the new record . No later than June , maybe a little sooner ( May??? ).

It will be on the Dream Works label and have twenty tracks with twenty guest stars . I know everybody's anxious for details but you'll have to wait till we're a little closer to release . I see from the last edition of Fireball you're pretty up on the list of guest stars but... there still might be a couple of surprise for ya .

Feel free to print this if you like , I hope you're doing well , say hi to all the JLL fans for me.

PS Jerry was in LA in December and recorded a great follow up to The Pilgrim. Raw and rockin' blues , ballads and even a little Gospel .

Hope to see ya soon...
