Comments:Hello Jerry,
Love the sounds on your new CD. Looking forward to purchasing it and listening to it for a long time to come.
Hope it is an award winning album for you and sells like hot cakes.
Who else but the Killer still can rock?
God Bless, (as George Jones put it (The Boys From Memphis).
And God Bless, "The Last Man Standing".

I love the new Last Man Standing album cover, but, in my personal opinion, I think there needs to be a semi-torn up, legs hangin' off of it, piano stool, in the background! How many would agree?

Comments:We (my husband & self) went to see Jerry Lee for the second time this year, the first time being in Bocholt in March. The show was great and Jerry Lee put on a great performance marred only by the person who kept calling for "Lewis Boogie" which made Jerry comment "All I've heard is boogie woogie since I got up here" He walked on to a standing ovation puffing a big cigar and a big grin and every time he did a piano solo he got another standing ovation from those in the stalls (couldn't see upstairs)The Killer Band thought it was great that the audience joined in with a sing-along to "Great Balls of Fire" and the audience all called for more by shouting JERRY JERRY JERRY! once the show ended, but he didn't do an encore unfortunately. A great evening was had and it was nice to see so many in the audience of 60+ still rocking it, and youngsters who were not even born when Jerry made his comeback all enjoying a supberb entertainer and a wonderful evening...pity the security was so paranoid and pounced on anyone who dared take a flash photo, unlike Bocholt where you were given the chance to take pictures for a limited time so you could at least get a memory to take home! Comments:Loved your music since I first heart you on Radio Luxembourgh, and the small LP's on SUN, that a marine brother of a high school friend of mine brought home from overseas. They really changed my life back in '57.
I sent a small tape of me and my guitar in 1958 to Decca records in London, in order to have them make me a record, but I got a nice letter back that this was not possible.
I also have a nice picture of me and Linda Gail taken here up in the north of Norway. I sure would have liked to mail that photo to you and JLL.

I have been one of your most loyal fans since your first recording. Remember The Barn in Whiteland, Indiana, where you performed in the 60's.? We have spoken of this often.
Also your many shows in Phx, at JD's and the Riverbottom in Scottsdale. Boy those were the days.
Glad that you are still "rockin" and will look forward to your new release. Tell Kenny I am still looking for an original LP 1265. lol
My regards to Linda, what a neat sister. I still have the tape that we made when we first met in Phx in the 60's

I would give ANYTHING just to see him live once! My parents were young adults during the time of his original popularity in the 1950's so I guess you could say I'm a second generation fan and consequently my daughter would be a third generation fan. Comments:Mr. Jerry Lee Lewis:

We know you've already been inducted into the R&R HOF (and there does not exist an artist more deserving of that honor); however, as the one and only man who carries on the great tradition of Hank Williams, Sr., Muddy Waters, Louis Jordan and a (very short) list of legendary men, when will America wise up and create space on Mount Rushmore for your portrait (or at least devote a wing of the Smithsonian Institute to you and your amazing legacy)?

Crazy Arms, indeed! How about crazy wrists, fingers, and vocal cords as well.

We know "you are what you are (not what someone wants you to be)" but please take this friendly & loving advice and live on as long "as men are fierce and strong."

Your music has enriched our lives more than you may ever know. More power to you.

Comments:Hi Jerry, I had the great honour of seeing you in Concert in the early 60s in Bristol England. Your backing group on that tour was a British band named "Sounds Inc." My Mom had a Guest House at the time and the group always stayed there when they were in Bristol. Gene Vincent also stayed there. "Sounds Inc." had you and the rest of the artists on that tour sign a Programme for me. Unfortunately this has been lost during the last 40years! Little Richard and Billy Preston also signed it. Just wanted you to know that I still follow your music and will be a fan of the Killer til the day I die! Keep rocking Jerry, hope to see you on 12th August at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton. Love You God Bless You and thanks for the music. Jenny xxx PS if anyone out there knows anything about "Sounds Inc." I would love to hear from you! ksterry@tiscali.co.uk

Comments:Hi Jerry, I just wanted to drop a few lines to say I love you and I like listening to your music very much. You are truly a rock and roll legend in your time and it is a blessing to be the last man standing of that era. No matter what anyone else thinks of you, I think you are an awesome person and I hope to meet you someday. I seen alot of your interviews on vh1, and your start page and you seem to be a sweet and kind person. God is shining his light on you everyday. I wish that they would make another movie about you that is of a more serious nature than "Great Balls of Fire" was. I just don't think that hollywood gives your character enough credit. What I mean is they made you look and sound like a gomer pyle type character and I don't believe you were like that at all. I just wish they would look deeper into your character because from what I have read in your books, you were a more serious person than that. They just look at you from a "wildman" point of view. They need to look at Jerry the man. Well, enough of that I just thought I would state my opinion because I just think you are an awesome performer and from what I've read in your books you were a great person. I have a big crush on you! I look at your pictures all the time. I still think you are just as sexy now as you were in those rock and roll daze! I'm 40 years old and I still feel as if I am a teenager all over again. Jerry Lee, you are a blessed man by far, and you have been through so much from what I have read about you. You have the strength of a God because you are still with us today and that is a blessing in itself. I hope by the grace of god that you are still around in the next 20 years if God is willing. I love you Jerry and may God continue to bless you each and every day you wake up each morning. I say a prayer for you everyday that I live. I wish you continued success. You inspire me everyday by your music and photographs. Just like yourself, I have had my share of pain as well, and I thank God everyday that I live that I overcame it by his grace. I love you Jerry, keep rockin! With all my love, Angela K

I don't know how old you are but you sound rather immature
so I will consider that your a child.
First of all your mama should have taught you if you can't say anything nice, not to say anything at all.
And dear,as far as having big ears, I'd perfer that to having a big mouth.
What you think about Jerry Lee Lewis is insignificant because there are so many more that love him.
You have your opinion but it is of no use to spout out of your mouth venom about someone who would probably smile and shake your hand and be nice to you.
Shame on you.

I've emailed David Letterman & Jay Leno for YEARS to get you on their shows. Comments:Mine is a story that must have been repeated around the world, the little eleven year old kid who gets into rock'n'roll, discovers Jerry Lee Lewis, and starts playing the family piano and never stops.

Well this "little kid" just turned forty-three and I'm about to launch a new band playing R'n'B with me still playing piano and singing my guts out. Without Jerry Lee I would not have started. The first song I learned was his version of "Whatd' I Say?", trying to play along to the record. Hell my little fingers hurt so much but it felt so good I just played right through the pain though my Mother made me clean the blood off the keys before I went to bed.

There's one brilliant piano playing guy in our town who virtually plays nothing but Jerry Lee songs, and another classically trained piano player who swears Jerry is the greatest ever piano player in any music form. I didn't have a single lesson but learned from The man's recordings. I do prefer doing my own songs though and I reckon "End of the Road" is one of the finest tracks Jerry Lee ever recorded so I think he should write some more whilst taking it a bit easier on the touring front.

Anyway, my message to Jerry Lee Lewis: Thank you for everything, you are an amazing man and your music will last forever. I wish you had listened to the tape of my songs that Charles White gave you back in 1987 because I can think of no greater honour than to have Jerry Lee record one of my songs. Oh well, I guess it will never happen.

God bless you Jerry and God bless all the fans all around the world,

Peter Stitt

Comments:Hello Jerry Lee, Kenneth and J.W.
I am really sorry to hear about Joel.
I am also writing about the Letterman show that I watched last night. Believe you me, only because Jerry Lee Lewis was going to be on.
Well, I was greatly disappointed. I wish they (Dave) would have mentioned that you (Jerry Lee) are the great artist that you are. Also that you are the surviving Sun record star and given you the respect that is due you.
I did not expect them to put you in the last minutes just as they would put some up and coming musician.
They could have mentioned your new CD much better and had some good conversation about your long and lasting career.
It might just be me but I think if I were the one running that show, I would have given you much more time and not some people being shot out of a cannon.
I know how great you are and so does millions of fans.
Take care, we love you and hope to see your show in Vegas.
God Bless you and yours.

And by the way, whatever happened to Duke Faglier that used to play with you guys back then? Sure would like to know. He and Kenneth used to get me in the concerts. Thanks a bunch!!!

I hope this message will get to you so you know how well you inspire the young not only the old. I have a 6 year old son who has been singing your songs since he was 4 years old. His favourites are Great Balls Of Fire and Whole Lotta Shakin complete with actions. We even had a Red Satin jacket made for him. We have a video of him singing Great Balls of Fire at his school for a talent show. He was so thrilled when we told him that we bought him a ticket to see you perform in Niagara Falls Ontario on April 20. Can't wait to see you perform. Look for the one in the Red satin jacket. Comments:"I hope I can play with Bill again & Randy Wilkes & Ned Davis.... man what a band!"
(Quote from the late Joel Schumacher's reaction to the passing of his old friend Bill Strom, March 2005)

Needless to say I was shocked to learn about the passing of Joel Schumacher. Last night I spoke to Ken Lovelace about the sad news. Ken said he'd lost a close friend who was a great musician and added his thoughts are with Joel but also Derek and Debbie of course, Debbie who has lost the man she's taken so good care of with so much love and dedication through all the years of Joel's illness.

I spoke to Ken about the first time I met Joel, backstage at the Casino in Ostend (Belgium) back in April 1987. My very first time backstage at a Jerry Lee concert (thanks to my good friend Henk van Raay) and I still remember Joel being really nice to me. That meant a lot to me and impressed me as a young admirer of The Killer. A great picture of a smiling Joel and I making the thumps-up gesture, together with Joel's fellow bandmembers at the time Duke Faglier and Danny Harrison, will always remind me of our first meeting and something really hilarious Joel asked me to do. Something that still puts a smile on my face everytime I think about it.

After that show in Ostend I also traveled to the following ones in Dendermonde (Belgium), Cambridge (England) and Northampton (England). Then Jerry and the band went to Italy. A coupla days later we met up again at the Victoria Hotel in Amsterdam when they were in Holland for the show in Zwolle (one of the most hectic ones I've ever attended).

Two years later I met Joel again at the Vapor's when they held a benefit show there for him and Jerry's band was one of the performing acts. Joel already had healthproblems back then and was no longer with The Killer's band. Allthough the circumstances weren't the best of course it was great to see him again. Also this time Joel was very nice to me.

Almost fourteen years had passed when I read a message Joel had posted on the 1st Bavarian Jerry Lee Lewis Site guestbook which made me decide to mail him with the computer I'd just gotten. "Hi Killer! Just read your message in the 1st Bavarian Jerry Lee Lewis Site guestbook and decided to drop you a line. Sure hope you're doin' okay. I know you've been through some rough times since the first time we met" was the opening line of the very first e-mail I sent him at 3.53 a.m. on a Wednesdaymorning back in April 2003.

In that same message I also wrote "Kenny and I are in touch frequently and quite a few times we've been talking about you. I always tell him that band with you, Randy (I was very sorry to hear he passed away), Ron and him was probably my favourite Killer band. In the beginning I had to get used to your more modern approach of rock guitarplaying but then I really began to appreciate it. You and Kenny were a great combination. He played the more traditional rock and roll style which the purists en older fans liked best and your heavier approach attracted some of the younger fans. One thing's for sure, the fact that you're no longer playing with Jerry doesn't mean we've forgotten about you. That'll never happen!"

Late September that year Joel posted a message in the Jerry Lee forum to which I reacted. One of the things I wrote was "Got a question about Jerry's Palomino recordings. Would it be okay if I contact you about that later this week?" to which Joel immediately responded "You can get in touch with me anytime. Here is my phone number." The next day I called him.

Joel had just had his weekly genetherapy which I could tell was really tough on him. Still it was great to talk to him again after all these years. Two days later (October 3rd) we spoke again. He sounded really up and good.

We talked a.o.t. about was the Austin City Limits show from 1984 which Joel called "one of the best shows there ever was" and he was right! Joel said "Jerry had one of the best bands he's ever had on that show" which made me bring up those fantastic and legendary Paris 1981 and London 1983 shows when Joel, Kenny, Ron Norwood and the late Randy Wilkes played for The Killer (in '83 our late friend Bill Strom was also a member of Jerry's band). Joel said he felt very fortunate having been part of these bands and said "playing for Jerry was the best school I went to."

I really liked the story Joel told me about the time when he started out working for Jerry. He'd told Jerry Jazz was what he'd been playing in the past so Jerry surprised Joel by ending a song with an amazing piece of Jazz and said "What do ya think about that boy?".

I told Joel we were all still thinking about him and the great work he'd done while working for Jerry and added that everybody I spoke to who had ever met him always spoke very highly of him. I thanked him for the great conversation and told him to thank Debbie for taking so good care of him.

The same day I'd posted a message about our conversation in the Jerry Lee forum I received an e-mail from Joel saying: "Hi Tex. I just want to thank you so much for the write up on the site. If you ever come back to Memphis you will always have a place to stay here at my house. Here is my address." I was impressed and moved...

I'm sure Joel knew and trusted someone like him would always have a place to stay himself, and would have the best possible 'place to stay' when his time would come.....

GOD BLESS YOU JOEL AND THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!

He was hard to understand when he talked and you could tell the normal Jerry Lee energy was not there but all in all it was a good show i thought. the highlight was him singing Touching Home, he does not play that one often any more. Hope jerry feels better by the european trip. ROCK ON!!!

Comments:Hi!

My ticket seller told me that my tickets of 10th March in HH have now validity for a Killer-concert on June 29. Even the Homepage of the Fabrik confirmed the concert. I hope the Killer will be there. Long Live JLL!

I hope for you that the Hamburg show (and the other cancelled shows) will be rescheduled, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet. Fact is that they will not take place in March.

Comments:Isn't it obvious now that Sony is waiting for 70-year-old Killer to die, before they release the record? "Let's give him a couple more months"... Deeply tragic.

Comments:I really hope the pilgrim comes out soon it has been a long wait! remember that a single is usually released a month or two ahead of the album, to create better album sales. Please let us know about the single so that we can request it on the radio (i belive country stations will still play new Jerry Lee Lewis songs). This is a fantastic web site! great up to date infomation. Thanks to this website i will be seeing Jerry at the Belterra Casino saturday night! otherwise i would not have known he was going to be there.

Comments: Dear Mr.Lewis, It is an honour to have the tickets to your concert in The Niagara Falls Casino,Canada on April 22nd 2006.Mr Lewis, you do not know, that I did play as lead guitarist and co-founder of The Young Youth,(Mlade Mladi)group, Prague's Lucerna Music Hall same stage 42 years earlier.Yes,in 1962(January).It was behind "The Iron Curtain" at that time.I do remember,we had to submit fabricated names to the songs titles to play. But we have made it.Your influence was strong. You were part of the ivolving democracy and freedom in 1962 in that country,if not in that part of the world.Believe me Mr.Lewis.I was one of them, who got the right message too.Long Live to Rock And Roll and democracy and freedom and Thank You,Mr.Lewis.
