I note Thomas LangstrOth b. 23rd July 1745 was born in Yks and migrated to Pennsylvania ?because he had turned Quaker and his father disapproved. There were Quaker LangstrOths already there [see familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/f/o/r/william-C-Forester] These descend from Bartholomew who migrated 1699 and whose surname is spelt as LangstrEth by George Redmonds [Names and History, London and New York: Hambledon and London, 2004] I notice Thomas'gr-daus spell their middle name as LangstrEth. | Comments: The answer to are you a Pennock descendant is "maybe?" I am descended from the first Twaddell, William, that arrived here from Ireland in the mid 1700s, married Deborah Pawling, and had 13 children. He was widowed, married again to a Maris, and had more children. I am not sure exactly where the Pennocks and Twaddells cross, if at all. I have some geneology that was put together by a distant Twaddell relative. My sister in law is working on hers, which includes Hipkins, Coburns, Wests, Wootens. Twaddell Mill Road in southeastern PA was named for him and the Mill he ran there for a time. |
