| Comments: | The art you demonstrate is closer to sumo than to ninjutsu! I can tell you that true ninpo is much swifter and precise than what you teach. I doubt you could perform your techniques on someone considerably stronger than yourself. I am sure you can fight better than average man, perhaps. Martial Arts these days are not what they used to be. I have lived in America and they give black belts to 9-year-olds! I see overweight martial artists who cannot kick above their stomach. Don't deceive your students and allow them to believe they can defeat opponents easily. |

If you should go to Japan i believe you will find a great difference ( in every way ) between the two. I have studied for many years and find that every place on the planet has its own vertion of the art. But keep in mind that even Japan has three major forms of the art and you can not expect to learn and understand one without learning the other two. It just isn't possible. Please do keep up the good work on the site and i know that you will find what i say to be true if you look but it will take some work.

First of all I must congratulate on the website, it's the best I found on ninjutsu so far, you explain a lot about self mind control wich i also admire but those videos (sorry to say but they are awful) on a roll you shouldn't place your head on the ground like i saw in that video, you can get seriously hurted, you should roll with your shoulder and get up with opposite hip (ex right shoulder, left hip if you know what i mean) in those arm blocks you should take your enemy to the ground and imobilize him there where you wont let him a chance to escape. Once more congratulations on your web site. Keep the good work. |

| Comments: | I really liked some of the explanations on your website it gave a great base of information. What I found strange though is that you wrote in the "kata" section all the Uke as "blocks"....may I ask why? In the Japanese language "Uke" does not mean block it means receive, therefore something like "Jodan Uke" would become "receiving to the higher plane", not "high block". One should not assume that uke is block or else you get the idea to "reject" what the opponent is using against you, which can be extremelegy damging and painful to yourself. Instead, by receiving as the true word says you must , you can divert the opponents blow wether with a sword, a hand, or any weapon without coming to harm yourself. Why is it that so many people believe that (even in Karate) a high block means that you use your forearm to block a strike? This can lead to serious damage, and no ammount of body conditioning can stop that. Think on this, if you make a crack in cement flooring, then use paste to seal it, does it make it stronger than when the floor was whole? Definitely not, so why do people insist that hitting your arms, legs and other parts of your body against hard objects make them stronger? This can only lead to arthritis and other problems later in life. But I have gone somewhat off-topic. Please, if you are going to put the japanese names for the katas make sure that you research thoroughly the meaning of the words. Ukei never has and never will mean Block, it means Receive. Meditating on that one fact can change your whole view of your martial art. EDITOR: We do not answer questions here and I usually do not comment (that is what the message forums are for.) but you are wrong in what you are saying and would realise that IF you trained. If you wish to discus this more please use the forums. |

| Comments: | Greetings! I study akumu kai underneath Soke Randall Brown in fort Collins CO. It combines many elements of various martial arts into a hybrid fighting style. I enjoy all the different styles a great deal but the ninjutsu and more over the ninpo that I have studied outside of class are my favorite. your site was great, I have syphoned through a lot of b.s. on the web and to see someone with a more or less objective approach as well as a brief to the point history of the art is very refreshing. If I ever end up with the good fortune of flying out to new zealand, I will have to come pay you guys a visit.

| Comments: | I am glad to see that there is at least one ninjitsu school teaching effective and practical techniques. I myself am a black belt with the Global Taekwon-Do Federation and a red belt(equivelent) in Hapki-Do
but I have always been interested in ninjitsu. I am from British Columbia Canada and in my home town there was a ninjitsu school but they went under because the head instructor didn't actualy know ninjitsu(I think he had seen one to many 80's ninja movies). One day I do still hope to train in ninjitsu the way it was ment to be tout. |
