| Comments: | I grew up in the San Francisco area and am very familiar with the history of Kezar Stadium. My family, David Kezar, who passed in 1995, was invited when they were taking the stadium down after the 1989 earthquake. My father, David, was the son of James Nash Kezar. If anyone knows when the Kezar's came to the United States, please let me know?

His son Sherburn married Amanda Remick and had one son Edward Kezar who married Marie Gendron. Apparently he had children named: Jedd, Karl; Paige. I am a descendant of Paige and my father was Karl Edward Kezar. They moved to North Hatley, Quebec, Canada, where my dad was born. | Comments: | I am the owner of Kezar Pub in San Francisco. It is recognised as the best sports bar in the city. The name comes from the stadium across the street where the 49ers used to play their home games. The stadium held over 70,000 people back then but has since been replaced with a much smaller, more intimate stadium seating approx.15,000 people. The original stadium was deemed unsafe after the 89 earthquake. The stadium was named after Mary A Kezar who donated the land to the city. I have more information about both the stadium and Mary A Kezar and a great photo of the stadium. Also the Kezar Pub has beautiful t shirts for sale depicting the stadium logo and the Kezar name. how this connects to your family. I just took my first trip to Kezar Lake Maine, and was very excited to find an Ebenezer Kezar Pub there (www.ebenezerspub.com). There are no Kezars living in the area now, though there are a lot of place names and business names. I was told the last Kezar in the area was an elderly man named Liam (sp?) Kezar, who died in Portland ME about 8 years ago. So, I was just looking around on the Web for more Kezar-related information, and though this might be a different branch, I was very surprised and impressed to find this site! |
