| Comments: | I live in Northfork,West Virginia in McDowell county.I truly support our troops.I had two brothers that served in the vietnam war, they came back home but what the war did to them is unmentionable.I now have a neice that's 22 over there,I pray for all of them every night.I ask people all the time to wear RED on Fridays.I have since I received it e-mail.I was so touched by the letter I got about wearing Red that I made Red Ribbons and sent them to different places with the e-mail I had received.Every chance I get I still promote the wearing of RED on every Friday.I pray that on one Friday everyone will be wearing RED and just ONE of our soldier see it and know the purpose of us wearing RED.I do have some faithful people that do wear something RED every Friday. The bank in my town, they're truly the faithful ones.I could go on and on on this subject but I get so filled up,which is ok too.Thank you for letting me sign your DREAMBOOK. |

| Comments: | I must say, this site frightens me as much as it saddens me. Your understanding of Islam and Arab culture is based entirely on stereotypes and slander. You have never read the Qur'an, gone to a mosque, and you most likely don't know any Arabs, yet you are so eager to assert your superiority. I am so tired of hearing this tripe about "72 virgins", It simply is not in the Qur'an, period. This is some sort of crazy invention devised to inspire fear and hatred, you really should educate yourself a bit before you spread misinformation and hate. Terrorists do not represent the majority, they are a very small minority of people who have stopped attempting to understand and empathise with the rest of humanity . . .they are able to do thier horrible deeds because they believe that there are some human lives that are expendable. These are not only the Osama ben Laden's, but also the Timothy McVey's of the world, terror has no one race of religion.
Be careful not to become blinded by hate and lose you essential connection to humanity, we are more alike then you may believe. Our differances are in the details, cultural nuances. . . Try to be better informed and more open minded, internet web blogs run by ideologes are not credable sources of news, information or understanding of cultures differant from you own. It is time that the decent human majority's cries for tolerance and understanding rise above the clamor made by the few who deal in hatred and destruction. There is nothing Osama ben Laden would love more then to have his attacks responded to with fear, hatered and violence toward the peaceful Muslim majority, what better way to recruit more lonely, insecure misfits, looking for glory and a place to belong to strap themselves to explosives. Spreading ignorance and ethnocentric sentiment only fuels the fire. |

| Comments: | The excessive hyper-nationalism (which is not far off that of 1930s Nazi Germany) you promulgate is deeply worrying. You seem to have a blind faith that your president's decisions are wise and correct and you offer your unconditional support to those murderers. Shame on you.
The troops signed up to the military to fight in this war which was illegally declared on dishonest grounds. The US was attacked by "terrorists" not because of the latter being bored and having nothing else to do, but because US policy had seriously angered millions in the Middle East and beyond. Hate exists for a reason. The US must ask itself what it has been doing in the wider world to anger so many people. The fact is, the US has a notoriously closed-minded population - most people cannot name one world leader or capital city except the president and Washington DC respectively. What one must understand is that in the outside world (some 200 countries), there are cultures of all sorts, most of which are older than the US’s, which have different values and ways of doing things. It is not for the US to declare its morally corrupt values (where money and business dominate) on other cultures. The "freedoms" the US promulgates (allowing children to buy guns for example) are not to everyone's tastes. The US doesn't understand this and wonders why it makes enemies everywhere it interferes. Bu$h declared war on the grounds that he would rid Iraq of WMDs within his wider agenda "war on terrorism" and has now admitted that there was no link between Bin Laden and Iraq. Bu$h has now done a U-turn by claiming that he is liberating the people. The US clearly has no regard for them. If they cared about humanity, they would increase aid to Africa and not get into bed with brutal regimes like that of Uzbekistan (one of many examples), where money has flowed into the corrupt government's pockets plus the US military base set up there, also whose dictator is worse than Saddam. Nor would the US interfere with democratically elected governments that oppose US exploitation and bullying (a recent example being Venezuela). For over 50 years the US has been propping up brutal and corrupt regimes (unelected having overthrown elected governments as what happened Central and South America etc.) in South America and South East Asia (financing and arming them). The US also has the habit of never admitting it was wrong or saying sorry (like when they bombed a medicine factory in eastern Africa they suspected of being a weapons factory in the late 90s - no apology or compensation). They continuously bomb targets based on poor intelligence (such as schools, hospitals, Chinese Embassy in Belgrade in the 90s, markets) killing innocent people (women and children included). How can one sympathise with such killers as those Hawks who govern the US? How can one feel sympathy for troops who abuse the locals (recent cases in Abu Graib speak for themselves). I am not suggesting your sons/daughters/brothers/fathers/cousins/friends are bad people. It just also difficult to understand why people show so much support for the trigger-happy troops, most of whom show no regards to human life. The troops see these people as sub-human "sand niggers", "rag heads" etc... If 100 Iraqis die, the US clearly doesn't care. If one abusive troop dies, everyone cries! This is not just! The US clearly has no genuine interest in the wider world. Why is it that it will not sign up to international conventions such as the Kyoto Protocol? Because it doesn't care about pollution. Why won't it sign up to the international criminal court? Because criminals like Bu$h and Rumsfeld would have to face it and because it has too many double-standards to uphold. If you look further at the US's voting record at the UN, it reinforces my assertion that they care about nothing but themselves. Lastly, Bus$ declared himself as a "war time president" - this is a man who dodged military service because of influential family connections - he is therefore not a credible leader of the military. You often praise American "greatness" by such overstated sayings as "God bless America" as if no other country exists or even matters. Your country does have many great things but unfortunately it has a rotten, corrupted core these days. |

| Comments: | Hey Donna! The site is looking great. As you well know, being the wife and mother of service members with 20+ years of this life under my belt, I understand better than most the sacrifices and commitment that it takes. With barely 1.5% of the population serving in the military, most people do not even know anyone that is serving so they do not understand what the service member and their families give up every day for the freedom of this country. Sites like this help to educate and helps morale of the troops and families to know that the sacrifices are not in vain. Freedom isn't free. Thanks! |
