Comments:I grew up my whole life with a playcat in the garage. I think I can remember when it ran. Dad was always going to get it going again - quite a few parts around. My dad is gone now and we have had some inquiries about selling, and I have no idea of the value? Does anyone know where I can find out this kind of info? Thanks.

Brilliant man, but not able to keep on top of the money details, which was unfortunately left up to another family member.

Comments:I have a 1970 Attex ST/340/R that I have been restoring for the past few months. The original JLO engine had been working fairly well, but has gotten to the point that I spend more time tinkering than riding. I bit the bullit, and in a few days I should have a new Vanguard engine in it. Maybe I will then be able to enjoy the ride more, just as I did 30 some years ago.

By the way, I had a flywheel extracting tool made to the specs of the original JLO tool that works perfectly pulling a flywheel off a 340 JLO. Any one need one? I would sell for about $125.00 plus shipping.

I meet several reference to J5. Is this the same as Muskeg.

I work with rural electrification aid projects in Mozambique, using Muskeg for difficult access areas, especially during the rainy season. We are in need of complete sets of rubber for wheels for 2 of our machines. We have tried making them of hard wood, helping us out for some time.
Only the rubber is needed. Anyone knows who can help. Alternative solutions?

The parts needed are

2 x 16 = 32 pcs Tire solid – part no. 670 0205
2 x 4 = 8 pcs. Sprocket - part no 670 0124 00 (4” width)

Thanks

Comments:awesome site
I miss my old coot. my husband Mike,(now deceased) bought and restored one a few years ago. we loved that thang!!!
i would like to have another. my daughters especially Annie worked with Dad doing the restoration and was learning about gear ratios and all kind of neat mechanical stuff. I just started a web search so that I could show a student which I have in my class-Applied Technology and I have a module that is called mechanisms trainer. he had to work on gear ratios well that got me talking about some of my husband's projects and especially the COOT. he kept messing with the coot trying to get the speed he wanted from it.
loved seeing the photos of all your projects and I am glad you put the Harley on there it makes me drool. Yeah I am a weird woman!!! LOL
I like machines and the men that go with them Ha, ha.
so thanks Joe and buddies for the flashback of some great memeories of Mike and all his "crazy projects".
