Comments:I am very much into investigating the paranormal as well. I recently went to Wilmington last week (June 25th) with a couple of the founders of C.S.P.O.T which they invited me to come along with them on an investigation and bring my evp recorder, digital camera and K2 meter to this City Theater owned by actor Dennis Hopper. We had a couple of personal experiences along with a lot of communication using the K2,I am in Elizabethton now visiting family and looking for locations that would be likely to have some activity.Keep me updated or by your page,I would love to hear about your findings.I will be here until July 2nd or 3rd and would love to join you if you need any extra help.I would definitely be interested with any help you may need or any stories you would like to share. Thank you and I have enjoyed reading what you have put on your page.Good luck on all of your investigations that lie ahead. Keisha~

Comments:if Elvis Presley is alive, wouldn`t you think he would have come out of hiding by now? on the other hand why don`t they have tours on the second floor of graceland estate? is it because they are hiding something. to my understanding the upstaires at the graceland estate was off limites because they wanted to preserve it the way it was, the last time Elvis was seen alive up there. if graceland wouldn`t allow former president clinton upstaires, what does that tell you. and why was Elvis Presley buried with 15 tons of steel on top of him? is he really dead?

Comments:hi there! it was interesting to see your info on University of Tennessee at Martin....my husband worked in Clement two years ago and has heard many stories about the fourth floor and the sounds that arise there at night. Speaking of Weakley County, I'm wondering if you have heard anything about the home in Dresden, TN that has being investigated? Supposedly, the couple living there left all of their belongings after only two weeks of renovating/moving into the house. The female was pulled out of bed by her legs and they found pentagrams on the attic windows' interior. Several religious officials in the area have visited the home and have stated that there are definitely evil spirits there. I took pictures today, if you are interested. :) thanks!

It is exciting to read about all the paranormal things happening around where I live. I would like to hear more specific things on some of the ghosts, though. (I understand it must be difficult to find in depth details regarding this many hauntings.) However, I really enjoyed your website.

Comments:Well, i wouldnt consider myself a professional ghost hunter althoug it is something that i enjoy very much. About a week ago i was awaken to the sound of my name being scremed very loudly. Almost in a panic type of way. I hadnt been asleep very long. Maybe about a half hour. I did some evp work the next night and got a very weird clanging sound in my bedroom, (along with me snoring). It sounded almost like a piece of silverware tapping against a plate and it was at a very consistant beat. The sound was somewhere between the hours of 6 and seven. I know this because my sister came in to tell me goodbye at six and i was up for work at seven. On the recorder you can hear my sister. Lasted for about thirty seconds. Dont quite know how to explain it but its there plain as day. Any suggestions, let me know. Thanks.

Comments:On Friday, April 25th 2008 - 06:02:11 PM we made an entry into this site regarding ghost at our old home-place. It has been very quite since that entry until early this morning about 02:30. We were awakened by someone whistling outside. It sounded familiar. We eased up and I got my light and baseball bat and we looked through the curtains onto the porch. We saw the old wooden rocking chair rocking back and forth. It was a full moon and no wind was blowing. The whistle was of someone whistling the song "Dixie". My wife were scared and I told her to stay inside as I walked onto the porch with the light just 10 feet away. The chair stopped rocking and I heard the foot-steps of someone walking away from me on the porch and down the wooden stairs leading into the wooded area. Noonme was there and I heard the leaves snap as it walked away into the twilight zone. We believe this may have been a Confederate soldier that may have been killed in the Civil War. Next time, we will try and communicate with it.

He is buried in Forrest Park in Memphis, TN. I know this as I have visited his gravesite many times, most recently on July 13th, 2008 in celebration of his 187th birthday. Gen. Forrest was BORN in Chapel Hill, Bedford Co., TN on July 13, 1821. Each year, in early summer, there is an annual homecoming event held in Chapel Hill, in honor of the good general. For more information, check this website... www.nbforrest.org . Keep up the great work. Your site is wonderful.

Comments:My daughter, a co-worker, and I were at the "Lights" about ten o'clock one night, sitting on the road just beside the tracks, looking north. Several MTSU students showed up, laughing and chattering as they walked north on the tracks. Suddenly, the light appeared, well on the other side of them. It came closer and closer to them and finally appeared on the near side of them. It was as though it had walked right through them. I have been to the lights several times; one time my car refused to start. My dog growled and got in the back window. He sensed something he didn't like, didn't want to be a part of. I have seen the lights several times.

Comments:I was at Concorde Cemetery near Manchester yesterday evening between 8:30 and 9:30 pm, and picked up several orbs with the flash of my digital camera, and yes one of these orbs appears over Sadie's grave. She is quite a mystery, as no one can find her on any census record from 1860 on, so it is entirely possible she was a small child who was born and died between the censuses. Note also that the 1890 census for all states was destroyed in a fire in Washington, D.C., which is unfortunate. She might possibly have been on that census, but we just don't know. She is buried in the same row with the Howell's and Sherrill's so was possibly related to them in some fashion. If you have a photo section, I would love to contribute my photos. My family has kept it hush, hush about this family (my grandmother's). It has been said that they were all lynched or murdered over land ownership. There were maybe 11 children, 2 escaped and made their way to St. Louis. My great-grandparents (Richard and Nancy Garland) were never heard from again. By the way, any hauntings in Covington, TN?

Comments:Hello and fantastic site! I would like to add some local info on "Green Eyes" in the Chickamauga Battlefield in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, if you are interested. I grew up by the Battlefield and and pretty well versed in it's legends and stories. There was one important fact left out fromyour listed account. If you actually get too close to it and allow it to touch you (if you get close enough you will have a hard time not letting it touch you as it is agressive in a slow but mesmerizing way) you will feel hands around your neck. They will constrict and get colder as they do, choking and freezing you at the same time. It is possible to escape from what I hear, but difficult and very terrifying. I have never personally experienced this, but it is commonly known and I thought you would like to know for your site. I have also heard reports from locals walking through the park at night only to leave running back out upon hearing crashing footsteps in the trees like a huge thing walking and knocking over smaller trees as it goes. This is apparently accompanied by a low-level (such as bass note) "whooshing" sound. The one I did experience myself is neat - I was walking down a hill from Snodgrass hill down into a valley toward some woods (to the right of the front of the cabin) and passed what looked to be a homeless man going the other direction. I thought nothing of this until around 200 meters later when the same man passed me again going in the same direction as previous. Completely impossible unless he was a spirit! It was pretty creepy...

Comments:I just read your article about the Chickamauga Battlefield and Green Eyes. I have lived in Ringgold Georgia my entire life and Old Green Eyes surrounds my daily life as Ringgold is right next to Chickamauga and the battlefield is all around us. I mean the art gallary and many other buildings are even named after him. Anyway never before have I or anyone else I know, including park rangers, heard of this Native American Beast. The only story I have heard is that a confederate soldier's eyes were taken out by a union soldier, and that Green Eyes searches the battlefield at night searching for that soldier who took his sight, so he may have his revenge. It may also be noted that in the tower, their has been many suicides in the past few decades, and mysterious blood stains on the top stairs.

Comments:We moved to Tennessee after Hurricane Katrina after our place was destroyed. We bought a old homestead in Wayne County, Tennessee outside of Collinwood. The old-timers in the area have told us that the old house was haunted. We have since renovated it (out in the country). If it is or was haunted, the ghost are not violent. There have been some strange things that have happened there and voices at night. The dragging foot-steps are ongoing.

Comments:My daughter got married at the Fontaine House. When we booked it for the wedding we were given a free tour. We were on the second floor of the house where the nursery is and I made the comment that the lady in the picture was ugly. I turned around and she was standing with her hand on the fireplace mantle staring at me. Needless to say I left, but the trouble had only started. The day of my daughters wedding we went to decorate for the reception and our contract had been lost and we were not expected. Our caterer told us that pictures kept falling off the walls. Of course we had shared the story of the lady with her, so she told the caretakers that the lady was just protesting. Right before my daughter was to walk down the aisle, this was a wedding outside, one of the wrought iron candle holders flew out of the ground and landed across the aisle. The horse and carriage that was to carry my daughter from the carriage house to the front of the house, was nowhere to be seen and never arrived. My sister was filming the ceremony before and after and there is a lady singing opera on the film as my daughter is looking out over the people in the courtyard from inside the carriage house. Thought you might find this interesting.

Comments:This website is great! The apartment i live in is haunted. a few of the other apts. here are also. There is an old cemetery on the property. In my apt. one of my girls bedrooms is a cold spot. She would be asleep and would wake up to someone poking her in the side or back. We have had objects be moved around in the rooms. At night I have woke to hear someone knocking on my bedroom door but no one is there and the girls are asleep. This happens in the day time too. I have heard at different times my girls voices saying mom or hey mom when i am the only one home. The oldest girl has heard loud growling in her room, the cold one, at night. Sometimes you can hear footsteps walking down the hallway even though no one is there. Things disappear for a while then they are back where we had them to start with. Sometimes you can see a dark shadow or something out of the corner of your eye go out of the room where you are and so on. Sometimes it is really creepy here. I have lived here 15 yrs.I would like to talk to you about all of this.

Comments:Okay. I go to Halls High School in Knoxville Tennessee, and there has been some rumors that my school is haunted. I just didn't know if anyone here knew anything. The story goes like this. "It is said that in the late 1970's a young girl was having a fight with her boyfriend at the top of the stairs by the office when he pushed her and she fell to the bottom of the stairs. He left her to bleed to death. When the boyfriend got nervous, he went back to where he had left her and she wasn't there. No one knew where the girl had went and he told no one of what he had done. She was filed under "missing persons" and no one ever found her. One year later on the day of her murder, the boyfriend was on his way home from a party when he was stabbed and killed and left for dead. No weapon was ever recovered nor was anyone ever convicted. It is said that is was his high school girlfriend that came back from the dead to avenge her murder. Supposedly, many strange things happened in that stairwell that caused the school board to close it up. The doors are locked and it now leads to nowhere cause it has been built up at the top. There are many boxes of storage in there and no student is to be allowed in there at anytime. At night it has been reported that janitors can hear arguing, and sometimes you may even hear something falling down them." I just wanted to know if there's anyone out there who can tell me wether or not my school is haunted. I've seen the stairwell. But they keep it locked, and there is music pages to cover up the windows. There is also one teacher who says he is a ghost hunter, he said, that someone has died in his closet in his classroom, and the library is haunted. He has also heard voices talking to him in the library. My friend, who had his class, said that he went to the library to get a book, and no one else was in there, so he placed the book on the table. Then he heard a voice that said, "Your library is very messy." so he walked away then turned around and the book was back on the shelf. I don't know what to believe but i don't want my school to be haunted. Even though it would be pretty sweet. Any Suggestioins?

Since then we have had several people (like 4 to 5)to die in our store. Also a house that rented for awhiole on Paridise Hill Rd., had a ghost of a women who walked around. Supposenly she dead sitting in her rocking chair in her bedroom. In Indian Mound there is a ghost that haunts a house down by the boat dock in bellwood hollow. Some people say the soldiers walk around at Ft. Donelson Park. We used to have a ghost that lived in the house with us in Woodlawn. He would walk down the hall way, move curtains and open doors. He never hurt onebody. This was a house that we built.

Comments:Nice web site. I am a Civil War buff. I had the opportunity to visit Lookout Mountain and Chickamauga battlefield in August 2006, on a Thursday before the Bristol races. I did some research before I visited the locations and I had read about the fierce fighting and the high number of casualties. I didn't think much about the spirits until I actually walked around the battlefield. I was by myself during my visit and I could feel the energy coming from these sacred grounds. When I was at the Wilder tower I heard gunshots coming from the northeast direction. The shots were probably nothing, but I did hear gunshots. When I was at Snodgrass Hill I could feel the energy in the air. This gave me the creeps. I visited Gettysburg in 1976 and I did not feel or hear anything like I did when I was at Chickamauga. The next time I visit Chickamauga I'll be sure to take somebody with me.

To make a long story short, I was at my grandmother's house viewing your site so I showed her the picture of the haunted house and asked if she knew where it was. She said no, but asked her visiting friend if she had ever seen the house. Her friend looked at the computer screen and said, "Yeah, I sure do. I grew up in that house." My grandmother's friend denied ever seeing a ghost there, but has heard the stories. She even offered to take me there any time and give me a full tour. The house was a frontier home and has been in the same family for over 100 years.

Comments:You have a couple of inaccuracies on you website I thought I'd point out and offer a correction on. In Bolivar, TN the house you say is haunted is not called "The Parran House" In fact the people of Bolivar are quick to kindly correct you that it is called "The Wrens Nest" or "The Wedding Cake House" not The Parran House. In addition, the photo you have of the afore mentioned house isn't even of The Wren's Nest where Dave Parran lived. The photo you show is of The McNeal House that is across the street from The Wren's Nest. I do tours of that historic area annually and am fairly well versed in it's history. I have pictures of The Wren's Nest and The McNeal House that I'd be happy to share with you. Both homes apparently have very active ghosts.

My grandmother was born and grew up in the house right next to the bridge it was family owned since the 1800s. I have never heard in all my 33 years of the bridge being haunted. My grandparents never said anything to me about ghostly sightings. One of my family members in the early to mid 1900s were killed on the tracks by a train. In that area there are no Black people there or in the immediate areas. You really need to get your story straight before posting it on the net and give out false hopes or ideas to possible locals or those who want to visit it. By the way to those who want to get to the bridge do not drive on the road unless you live on it. The cops will fine you. Soon the road will be blocked off for good. Good luck in your search for Haunted places.

I have a friend who is a member of a well known and respected, local ghost hunters society here in the Mid South. I have been across that same bridge a million times at dark and only on one acasion did i see someone. it wasnt no ghost tho. all it was was someone night fishing. So, with all that said, exactly what all do u have to do to see the ghost? Because im very interested into going there and checking it out, sounds like a screaming time ti me.

Comments:I am not sure who fed you all that about suck creek ,but its bull.the reason the creek is named that is because of suck in the river a large whirlpool that at times of low water could catch boats or people and trun them over there was more then a few big fights there with the Indians and in the civil war .its is most likey a cave under the river ,because it comes out at Stanley, where Bradley McNabb lived . but the creek is name that because it comes off the mountain just north of the suck .I was born and raised there. you can still see it working at times of high water .My people where living there by 1835,and if your a brown from John c Brown you are kin .and also very few people if any down in the valley had slaves, and of all the things i heard i never heard any of that. Comments: Nice to read about other paranormal enthusiasts. Also about the places on your site, alluring. One thing I have found through the years, is it's a great thing to find places that have a history. It's even more fun to find places that are new. One thing I am really impressed with, is your side note to be cautious and considerate. P.S. pist_in_tn stands for Paranormal Investigative Society in Tennessee not a big group yet but, hope to get a few more interested in exploring with me.

So, maybe you should fix that. =] And the picture of the Railroad/Bridge is awesome, but you can't drive under it anymore. You can just look at it from the road. But, I love the site. =]

Comments:The young lady who was murdered/butchered/tortured was a student at Knoxville Job Corp, but was not killed at the Dale Avenue dorms. She was killed, I believe, at the Physical Plant on U.T. campus. Two of those involved in the murder were into satanism. Neither of the three involved in the murder have passed on. I was there at the dorms, after the murder, until the 19th of April and do not recall any stories about the ghost of Colleen Slimmer.

The sad part is that I can nolonger see ghosts but sense their presence. No I am not blind. It's kind of scary when you can't exactly see something u feel.
