| Comments: | I just read your article about the Chickamauga Battlefield and Green Eyes. I have lived in Ringgold Georgia my entire life and Old Green Eyes surrounds my daily life as Ringgold is right next to Chickamauga and the battlefield is all around us. I mean the art gallary and many other buildings are even named after him. Anyway never before have I or anyone else I know, including park rangers, heard of this Native American Beast. The only story I have heard is that a confederate soldier's eyes were taken out by a union soldier, and that Green Eyes searches the battlefield at night searching for that soldier who took his sight, so he may have his revenge. It may also be noted that in the tower, their has been many suicides in the past few decades, and mysterious blood stains on the top stairs. |

| Comments: | We moved to Tennessee after Hurricane Katrina after our place was destroyed. We bought a old homestead in Wayne County, Tennessee outside of Collinwood. The old-timers in the area have told us that the old house was haunted. We have since renovated it (out in the country). If it is or was haunted, the ghost are not violent. There have been some strange things that have happened there and voices at night. The dragging foot-steps are ongoing. |

| Comments: | My daughter got married at the Fontaine House. When we booked it for the wedding we were given a free tour. We were on the second floor of the house where the nursery is and I made the comment that the lady in the picture was ugly. I turned around and she was standing with her hand on the fireplace mantle staring at me. Needless to say I left, but the trouble had only started. The day of my daughters wedding we went to decorate for the reception and our contract had been lost and we were not expected. Our caterer told us that pictures kept falling off the walls. Of course we had shared the story of the lady with her, so she told the caretakers that the lady was just protesting. Right before my daughter was to walk down the aisle, this was a wedding outside, one of the wrought iron candle holders flew out of the ground and landed across the aisle. The horse and carriage that was to carry my daughter from the carriage house to the front of the house, was nowhere to be seen and never arrived. My sister was filming the ceremony before and after and there is a lady singing opera on the film as my daughter is looking out over the people in the courtyard from inside the carriage house. Thought you might find this interesting. |

| Comments: | This website is great! The apartment i live in is haunted. a few of the other apts. here are also. There is an old cemetery on the property. In my apt. one of my girls bedrooms is a cold spot. She would be asleep and would wake up to someone poking her in the side or back. We have had objects be moved around in the rooms. At night I have woke to hear someone knocking on my bedroom door but no one is there and the girls are asleep. This happens in the day time too. I have heard at different times my girls voices saying mom or hey mom when i am the only one home. The oldest girl has heard loud growling in her room, the cold one, at night. Sometimes you can hear footsteps walking down the hallway even though no one is there. Things disappear for a while then they are back where we had them to start with. Sometimes you can see a dark shadow or something out of the corner of your eye go out of the room where you are and so on. Sometimes it is really creepy here. I have lived here 15 yrs.I would like to talk to you about all of this. |

| Comments: | Okay. I go to Halls High School in Knoxville Tennessee, and there has been some rumors that my school is haunted. I just didn't know if anyone here knew anything. The story goes like this. "It is said that in the late 1970's a young girl was having a fight with her boyfriend at the top of the stairs by the office when he pushed her and she fell to the bottom of the stairs. He left her to bleed to death. When the boyfriend got nervous, he went back to where he had left her and she wasn't there. No one knew where the girl had went and he told no one of what he had done. She was filed under "missing persons" and no one ever found her. One year later on the day of her murder, the boyfriend was on his way home from a party when he was stabbed and killed and left for dead. No weapon was ever recovered nor was anyone ever convicted. It is said that is was his high school girlfriend that came back from the dead to avenge her murder. Supposedly, many strange things happened in that stairwell that caused the school board to close it up. The doors are locked and it now leads to nowhere cause it has been built up at the top. There are many boxes of storage in there and no student is to be allowed in there at anytime. At night it has been reported that janitors can hear arguing, and sometimes you may even hear something falling down them." I just wanted to know if there's anyone out there who can tell me wether or not my school is haunted. I've seen the stairwell. But they keep it locked, and there is music pages to cover up the windows. There is also one teacher who says he is a ghost hunter, he said, that someone has died in his closet in his classroom, and the library is haunted. He has also heard voices talking to him in the library. My friend, who had his class, said that he went to the library to get a book, and no one else was in there, so he placed the book on the table. Then he heard a voice that said, "Your library is very messy." so he walked away then turned around and the book was back on the shelf. I don't know what to believe but i don't want my school to be haunted. Even though it would be pretty sweet. Any Suggestioins? |

| Comments: | I live in Clarksville,Tn. Where I work we have a ghost that walks around in our bay area. We call him Joe. Joe was a man that got killed in the bay, when it was being built. Since then we have had several people (like 4 to 5)to die in our store. Also a house that rented for awhiole on Paridise Hill Rd., had a ghost of a women who walked around. Supposenly she dead sitting in her rocking chair in her bedroom. In Indian Mound there is a ghost that haunts a house down by the boat dock in bellwood hollow. Some people say the soldiers walk around at Ft. Donelson Park. We used to have a ghost that lived in the house with us in Woodlawn. He would walk down the hall way, move curtains and open doors. He never hurt onebody. This was a house that we built. |

| Comments: | I was floored to hear the long dog story out of Tennesee.I am a native to Eastern Kentucky. My great-grandfather would tell a story about the long dog here in kentucky. The ghost dog was a big part of my families history.I throught it was a local story past on by my family here in Rowan County, Kentucky. It is a small world! The gost dog was seen at local swimming hole (weaver hole /mill pond) on the North Fork of Triplett Creek. The ghost dog would wander just out of good sight at night by the light of camp fires. One story had the dog jumping on the running board of a 1937 chev pickup at night as it made a triplett creek crossing.(no bridges)I sure a little moonshine may of played a role in those stories however the family history involved in just stories are really neat. |

| Comments: | Nice web site. I am a Civil War buff. I had the opportunity to visit Lookout Mountain and Chickamauga battlefield in August 2006, on a Thursday before the Bristol races. I did some research before I visited the locations and I had read about the fierce fighting and the high number of casualties. I didn't think much about the spirits until I actually walked around the battlefield. I was by myself during my visit and I could feel the energy coming from these sacred grounds. When I was at the Wilder tower I heard gunshots coming from the northeast direction. The shots were probably nothing, but I did hear gunshots. When I was at Snodgrass Hill I could feel the energy in the air. This gave me the creeps. I visited Gettysburg in 1976 and I did not feel or hear anything like I did when I was at Chickamauga. The next time I visit Chickamauga I'll be sure to take somebody with me. |

| Comments: | I have the most interesting story about your website! I am from Oakdale, TN and I live just outside White Oak, the haunting that you featured under Morgan County hauntings. To make a long story short, I was at my grandmother's house viewing your site so I showed her the picture of the haunted house and asked if she knew where it was. She said no, but asked her visiting friend if she had ever seen the house. Her friend looked at the computer screen and said, "Yeah, I sure do. I grew up in that house." My grandmother's friend denied ever seeing a ghost there, but has heard the stories. She even offered to take me there any time and give me a full tour. The house was a frontier home and has been in the same family for over 100 years. |

| Comments: | You have a couple of inaccuracies on you website I thought I'd point out and offer a correction on. In Bolivar, TN the house you say is haunted is not called "The Parran House" In fact the people of Bolivar are quick to kindly correct you that it is called "The Wrens Nest" or "The Wedding Cake House" not The Parran House. In addition, the photo you have of the afore mentioned house isn't even of The Wren's Nest where Dave Parran lived. The photo you show is of The McNeal House that is across the street from The Wren's Nest. I do tours of that historic area annually and am fairly well versed in it's history. I have pictures of The Wren's Nest and The McNeal House that I'd be happy to share with you. Both homes apparently have very active ghosts. |

| Comments: | I would Like to say the Greenville Bridge that you speak of Was once the Old Stage Coach Rd. It was used during the Civil War by the Soldiers. My grandmother was born and grew up in the house right next to the bridge it was family owned since the 1800s. I have never heard in all my 33 years of the bridge being haunted. My grandparents never said anything to me about ghostly sightings. One of my family members in the early to mid 1900s were killed on the tracks by a train. In that area there are no Black people there or in the immediate areas. You really need to get your story straight before posting it on the net and give out false hopes or ideas to possible locals or those who want to visit it. By the way to those who want to get to the bridge do not drive on the road unless you live on it. The cops will fine you. Soon the road will be blocked off for good. Good luck in your search for Haunted places. |

I have a friend who is a member of a well known and respected, local ghost hunters society here in the Mid South. I noticed you haven't got any information on ghosts, or spirits at Jackson TN. | Comments: | I am not sure who fed you all that about suck creek ,but its bull.the reason the creek is named that is because of suck in the river a large whirlpool that at times of low water could catch boats or people and trun them over there was more then a few big fights there with the Indians and in the civil war .its is most likey a cave under the river ,because it comes out at Stanley, where Bradley McNabb lived . but the creek is name that because it comes off the mountain just north of the suck .I was born and raised there. you can still see it working at times of high water .My people where living there by 1835,and if your a brown from John c Brown you are kin .and also very few people if any down in the valley had slaves, and of all the things i heard i never heard any of that. | Comments: | Nice to read about other paranormal enthusiasts. Also about the places on your site, alluring. One thing I have found through the years, is it's a great thing to find places that have a history. It's even more fun to find places that are new. One thing I am really impressed with, is your side note to be cautious and considerate. P.S. pist_in_tn stands for Paranormal Investigative Society in Tennessee not a big group yet but, hope to get a few more interested in exploring with me. |

So, maybe you should fix that. =] And the picture of the Railroad/Bridge is awesome, but you can't drive under it anymore. You can just look at it from the road. But, I love the site. =] |

She was killed, I believe, at the Physical Plant on U.T. campus. Two of those involved in the murder were into satanism. Neither of the three involved in the murder have passed on. I was there at the dorms, after the murder, until the 19th of April and do not recall any stories about the ghost of Colleen Slimmer. |

| Comments: | I worked at Opryland Hotel, on the 3rd shift. The place is very active. I remember on several occasions, seeing a lady in early era clothing moving about on the 200 "block" of guestrooms. A friend of mine and I were taking a boat ride, when we saw what appeared to be the image of a small black and white dog, floating across the water on the left side of our boat. As a fact, we weren't the only ones to see it, for there were several that striked up conversation over the image. I have no other information on the lady or on the dog. I just thought that you would like to know of my personal experience at the hotel. |

We had just sat down for supper one evening about 5 0 clock p.m. when a spotted dog came through the back door, walked across the kitchen floor and went under the cook stove. My dad told me to get that dog out of the house, I got up from the table and looked under the stove. There was no dog under the stove or any where else in the house. This wasn't scary and we laughed it off. There was seven eating at the table at the time and we all seen it |

| Comments: | Hello! My name is Meagan, and I am an employee at the Read House in Chattanooga, one of the sites listed as haunted in your webpages. I thought I'd offer a few insights into the matter. Firstly it was her husband who murdered Annalisa (not the soldier), after discovering that she had been working as a prostitute. Secondly, and perhaps less interstingly, the Read House is now a Sheraton hotel and not a Radisson. :) |

| Comments: | Hello, I live in Knoxville, TN. There is a building/house on the 4300 SW stretch of Eddington in South Knoxville in the Vestal area. My husband and I have visited the house several times at night and have caught strange things on camera. I myself have been in the house at night with a video camera. That tape has since been lost but the house itself is very strange. I know no history of it and neither does anyone else I know. I don't know if it was someone's residence at one time or if it were used for something else. The setup of the structure is unlike your average house. It is 3 stories tall and is made of concrete blocks I believe. There is what appears to be a child's bedroom b/c of a Smurfs painting on the walls. It may be nothing at all, I've just always wondered what it was used for and if there was any history to it. If you know anything or know anyone who does, I would love to find out. Thanks. |

| Comments: | I live in Chattanooga, and just recently, I went to the Read House to post the colors at a dinner banquet. Before I went, some of my friends told me about room 311 being haunted and that a Civil War solider killed a prostitute in that room. I told my SAI, who was coming with us about it, and he said we could go check it out. So after we were finished with the banquet, about 6 of us went up to 311 and got our picture made by the door. (I haven't seen the picture yet.) My SAI looked through the peephole and saw that a light was on, and knocked on the door. Then we took off. Well, we went downstairs and decided to ask the lady at the desk about it and she said that a Civil War solider DID take her to that room, but her HUSBAND killed her when he found out. And apparently, she hates men, but looks out for women. And she haunts that room and the hallway. Just thought I'd suggest that. |

| Comments: | About 4 years ago is when i first went to this historical house. This house is wonderful to tour. My mother heard whimpers of this molly person you speak of through out the tour. My family tours this exciting historical house every year during our spring break. My mother has also seen blue streaks go across the window in this haunted room and has felt strange cold spots also. We have also taken a picture from the outside of the house viewing the window of the rose bedroom. When this picture was developed it looked as if somebody was standing in the window but the house was not open it was closed for the day. This year we are bring somebody extra with us to come see this house. |

| Comments: | It`s sad to hear that libertyland will not be opening for the 2006 season yes after 30 years of fun the city of memphis finally told the operators of libertyland to stop and it still blows my mind that the only theme park in memphis or anywhere will not reopen.. It will be absolutely boring in memphis during the summer months and of course they did not think about the kids what will the kids do... Will Libertyland relocate like to the country side of shelby county.. The only thing is left hmm chuckie cheese or mcdonalds playplace.. If libertyland needed more money to stay afloat they couldve extended the parks operation from april to october. Me personally i`ve been to the park in 75 when was not called libertyland yet and i rode the zippin pippin at age 9 and boy it was fast and scary and almost turned my stomach out and in about 1978 i went again and i vowed that i would never ever ride any rollercoasters in my lifetime i just the simple rides.. So i hope memphis get another amusement park somewhere in the area or you will just to have to listen to this "Mommy can you take me to disneyworld" |

| Comments: | i really loved the stuff about old corbin hospital. i live in the area now and my youngest daughter and i went over to the old hospital last summer in july 05. we walked all around the outside and everything went well until we got to the front of the hospital, then both me and my daughter felt sick, she even more so. then we decided we should leave and just as we were doing so it was like someone throw a piece of glass at us from one of the 3rd floor windows. it was a tiny piece of glass but what was really weird about it was there wasn't no one else around but the two of us. i was clear something or someone did not like us being there. i feel sorry to see the old place go. |

| Comments: | Excellent site John,I really enjoyed the history and the ghost stories. I live in Gallatin Tn. and I am fimilar with the the stories of the White Lady of South Tunnel and quiet a few more ghost stories in and around Gallatin. Perticulary the story of Bay Raven. The story is centered around a civil war grave yard here and story actually started during the 1950s. The 1950's was the age of those great old automobiles and hot rodding and parking with your best girl. The location of this story is as creepy as the story itself and I'm really surprised you have not heard of it. The location of the story is an old dirt road that from the look of it only big enough for maybe one car at a time to drive down and a creek runs across the middle of it. The story goes that the young kids during the 50's would go there and park next to the creek and beside the grave yard. Now this is where the story goes alittle haywire, one night a group of young boys out for mischieve drove down the road in an attempt to cause some trouble with those parked at the area. When they got to the end of the road next to the creek and grave yard no one was parked there so,in disgust they disided to turn over the head stones in the grave yard. The boys went about their bad deed and caused so much noise that they woke the man that lived in the old house next to the grave yard. The old man ran out the door screaming that they must stop, that they would wake the dead and the old man tripped on the edge of the sidewalk and stuck his head on the corner step. This scared the young boys away and the old man died from the injury. A couple of months later a young couple drove down the road again to park, after find a good spot the boy began to tell his girlfriend the story of what the boys had done to the graves and how he had never got caught by the police when he heard a sound outside the car. The sound of footsteps as if someone was walking around the car. The boy trying to be very manly in his girls eyes and thinking that one of his friends was playing a joke on him, told his girlfriend he was going to get out and take a look around. I'm not sure what the boys name was,so we will use the name Johnny. After about 30 mins. had passed Johnny never cameback and his girlfriend was getting pretty scared. Along with the sounds of footsteps the girl now heard someone laugh and the sound of something dragging across the top of the car. When she got out to investigate she was totally frightened out of her witts,Johnny was hanging upside down from a tree with his throat slit and his arms hanging over his head and his fingers were dragging accross the top the car. Now I was told this story by an old man that lived in the area. I am now 47 years old and the story is still told about the area and heres the kicker. Suposedl |
