These are people from my grandmother's side of the family. My great grandmother and father are buried there and so are my great aunts and their spouses. I saw the article about Sadie Baker and if memory serves me she was around 12 when she passed. The gravestone in the picture was placed in recent years because of the tale of her being a witch. Kids would go and steal her stone on a regular basis. As I know of there is no support to the tale of her being a witch. | Comments: | I visited there today. I didn't see any ghosts. I did get a $21 speeding ticket. Be sure you park near a meter that's working properly or just park behind the house on Orleans. One strange thing did happen. When we walked into the ballroom, a candle on one of the electric candelabras just came on and sort of leaned over to one side. Tour guide, Mrs. Rosemary just walked over, straightened it and loosened the bulb. She said it was probably because of the Halloween display they'd had there since they used the candelabras in the display. |

| Comments: | Well, my sister and I were at the Mount Olivet Cemetary in Nashville just driving around and looking when I thought I heard music. I had her stop the car and asked her if she heard it then I heard it again. We sat there for a few minutes and we both heard what sounded like an acoustic guitar playing an upbeat song. Nobody else was in the cemetary at that time and it was almost dark. It started to rain which was creepy so we decided we were going to leave. I have now become almost obsessed with this place because it's intriguing to me and I love the paranormal. This was just a few days ago and today is November 20th, 2011. | Comments: | We just visited the Chickamauga Battlefield last weekend and loved it! There is such an energy there that you can't describe. This was mine and my children's first visit, but my husband has been there quite a few times. We got some really good pictures fromt he top of the watch tower that has quite a few orbs in them. This is looking from the top of the tower into the field below it. Also, in the visitors center, my sister in law has an orb around her eye while she is sitting in front of the set up of the tent displayed there, and my husband has an orb in his picture that he took near the horse statue that's right across from the watch tower. | Comments: | hello. i love this site and come by it whenever i remember. anyway, have you ever heard of lexi crossroads? im not sure where it is but if you google it you can find it. anyways the story goes that tlexi crossroads was a deadly railroad intersection. they needed a man to sit by the rails and warn people of trains with a lantern as they didnt have the automated machines. well, i believe his name was jed or something like that. well, old jed thought that there wouldnt be any trains running ny that night. so he got drunk and passed out on the track a ways down. he got ran over and decapitated that night. they say if you go down there at night you can see him waving his lantern in the distance. i just thought that might be something interesting to add, as i didnt see it on the site. thanks |

| Comments: | Hello, My name is Jacob Lindsey and i am now 20 years old. In Maryville Tn, i lived in a house at 1001 mynders avenue. I was little about 4 years old i guess and i couldnt sleep one night so my mother came in my room to hold me while i slept. She told me that on one night she was holding me a boy about 10 years old with short black hair was at the edge of the bed looking at us. At first she thought she was seeing things (because she was taking some medicine), then after about ten minutes the boy didnt leave. So she got up and started to walk to him which at that point he walked around the corner and disappeared. Again she thought she was seeing things until the next morning when i woke up i asked her who the little boy was at the edge of the bed. She was freaked out at that point knowing it wasnt only her who saw him. So she did some research on the house and found a convicted pedofiler/murderer lived in the home a few families before us and was charged with children missing or murder i dont quite remember. But as i was young and lived in that house i recalled strange things happening to which i thought was my imagination until my mother told me about all that and now i beleive i was talking to ghosts. As one time i was playing with my younger brother and a "buddy" doll said something to us which i freaked out threw it into the crib covered it up with blankets and ran with my brother crying to my mother. I remember her walking in there and the doll being back on the floor. I would love for some others to check this out also and i would too, but we sold the house. Anyone wanting to go ask is welcome in my book. |

| Comments: | Hi, thank you for the information you posted on Stones River and the Slaughter Pen. I was in Murfreesboro in May 2010 and we went to see the battlefields. I went to the Slaughter Pen alone, through the forest while my parents waited in the car. I absolutely had experiences while walking through the forest. I could hear gunfire, felt like I was being watched and followed. I like the word you used "paranoia" - very real but I recall being panicked. When I reached the end to the open field I was immediately swarmed by mosquitos. I didn't want to turn around because I could see in my mind what was behind me....a soldier standing with a rifle in front of a tree watching me. I was able to snap off only one pic b/c of the mosquitos and the energy. When I did turn around, the spirit or energy rushed to my face and I can feel the face only inches from mine. I ran back to the car running definately feeling like I was being followed. I got to the car and told my dad "go go!!". This is very real and it scared the pants off of me. I am sensitive to the paranormal and have had numerous experiences in my life. A medium told me in June I had the "gift" and am just learning how to put it to use. She even picked up on this event at Stones River. |

The men of her tribe were always going on hunting trips, but the women had to stay home. The Indian woman secretly followed her husband one day when he went hunting with the other men. She hid herself behind a rock, clutching the hide of a mountain cat around her, and spied on the men as they sat around their campfires telling sacred stories and doing magic. According to the laws of the tribe, it was absolutely forbidden for women to hear the sacred stories and see the tribe's magic. So when the Indian woman was discovered, the medicine man punished her by binding her into the mountain cat skin she wore and then transforming her into a terrible monster - half woman and half mountain cat. At that moment, the woods were overpowered with a horrible smell like that of a wet animal that had fallen into a bog after it messed with a skunk. Then something howled on the path behind him and the man whirled around, dropping his rifle. His heart pounding with fear, the man found himself staring into the big, glowing yellow eyes of the Wampus Cat. The creature had huge fangs dripping with salvia. It looked kind of like a mountain lion, but it was walking upright like a man. Then it howled, and the man's skin nearly turned inside out in horror. With a scream of terror, the man leapt backwards and ran as fast as he could through the woods, the Wampus Cat on his heels. He fled to the home of a friend who lived nearby, and burst through the front door only a breath ahead of the creature. His friend slammed the door in the face of the Wampus Cat. Instantly, it started shuddering under the weight of the attacking monster. The man's friend grabbed his Bible and started reading aloud from the Psalms. Upon hearing the holy words, the Wampus Cat howled in frustration and then slowly abandoned its attack and went back into the woods. The man spent the rest of the night at his friend's place. When he went home at daybreak, he found his dogs huddled in the barn, shaken but still alive. The man never hunted after dark again. |

| Comments: | I can tell you that from experience the Memorial Building in Cocke County (Newport) is haunted! When I was in highschool we had a haunted house in the Memorial Building. Of course the scene I was in had to be in the basement where the bodies of the plane victims were apparently kept. Gives you a cold feeling just being down there. While we were rehearsing one night I decided to use the rest room and all of a sudden the lights went out. I thought it was my classmates being funny but as it turns out the whole building went dark for a few minutes. Not only was that creepy but one of the scenes in the building was of the plane crash. Glad I wasn't in that one, I'd almost rather be in the basement! I don't believe they have used the building much since. There have been many scary stories told of The Memorial Building and I have experienced one and hopefully my last! |

This would have been in the late 1920s or early '30s. He said he was driving home late one night and saw a woman in white walking on the road up ahead. When he got to the spot where he had seen her, she was gone. He said the memory of that night spooked him for the rest of his life. | Comments: | Back when my husband and I were dating we went looking for Green Eyes (one of the ghosts in the Chickamauga Battlefield that you spoke of). We caught brief glimpses of something bright green that appeared to be wandering through the woods, but we never could get close enough to see what it was. Also, another story concerning the battlefield that didn't get mentioned in the article has to do with the watch tower (or, just simply, the Tower). The story goes that when a young woman heard of the death of her soldier fiancee she went to the top of the Tower and jumped. I believe the story is that if you go to the Tower at midnight on Halloween you can still see that young woman jumping to her death, but you never see her hit the ground. My husband and his best friend have seen her, but I haven't. Lots and lots of stories surrounding that battlefield! |

| Comments: | I actually live aprox. 3mi. from the lodge on Copper Ridge road. I have been to the lodge on several different occasions. I helped the overseer of the property board it up a couple of times. It has now for several years been burned down. There is also an old house, no where near as old as the lodge, on the property. I went with the overseer to board up the lodge again, and run off the squatters that were staying at the house. We were met at the lodge by a man who claimed to have spoke with one of the satanic worshipers who was leaving the lodge. We went into the lodge for the first time. It was so freaky. Many satanic messages and pictures littered the walls. I went once with my now wife in 1996, at night time. My wife was braver than I was. She stepped in the window and walked around. A farmer living in the house at that time yelled at us, and scared us half to death. I have never believed in ghosts, or the paranormal. I must say though, that lodge is the scarriest place I have ever been. By the way, it served as a school, a make shift hospital, and it was a lodge. |

Speaking of Weakley County, I'm wondering if you have heard anything about the home in Dresden, TN that has being investigated? Supposedly, the couple living there left all of their belongings after only two weeks of renovating/moving into the house. The female was pulled out of bed by her legs and they found pentagrams on the attic windows' interior. Several religious officials in the area have visited the home and have stated that there are definitely evil spirits there. I took pictures today, if you are interested. :) thanks! |

| Comments: | Visited the Trinity Church in Mason,Tennessee on 02/14/09 they have cordoned off the entry by a large cable and fencing making it impossible for more than one or two cars to park there, out of the roadway. A good bit of vandalism to the property. Area is now patroled heavily by the police. No real experiences while there. |

About a week ago i was awaken to the sound of my name being scremed very loudly. Almost in a panic type of way. I hadnt been asleep very long. Maybe about a half hour. I did some evp work the next night and got a very weird clanging sound in my bedroom, (along with me snoring). It sounded almost like a piece of silverware tapping against a plate and it was at a very consistant beat. The sound was somewhere between the hours of 6 and seven. I know this because my sister came in to tell me goodbye at six and i was up for work at seven. On the recorder you can hear my sister. Lasted for about thirty seconds. Dont quite know how to explain it but its there plain as day. Any suggestions, let me know. Thanks. |

| Comments: | On Friday, April 25th 2008 - 06:02:11 PM we made an entry into this site regarding ghost at our old home-place. It has been very quite since that entry until early this morning about 02:30. We were awakened by someone whistling outside. It sounded familiar. We eased up and I got my light and baseball bat and we looked through the curtains onto the porch. We saw the old wooden rocking chair rocking back and forth. It was a full moon and no wind was blowing. The whistle was of someone whistling the song "Dixie". My wife were scared and I told her to stay inside as I walked onto the porch with the light just 10 feet away. The chair stopped rocking and I heard the foot-steps of someone walking away from me on the porch and down the wooden stairs leading into the wooded area. Noonme was there and I heard the leaves snap as it walked away into the twilight zone. We believe this may have been a Confederate soldier that may have been killed in the Civil War. Next time, we will try and communicate with it. |

He is buried in Forrest Park in Memphis, TN. I know this as I have visited his gravesite many times, most recently on July 13th, 2008 in celebration of his 187th birthday. Gen. Forrest was BORN in Chapel Hill, Bedford Co., TN on July 13, 1821. Each year, in early summer, there is an annual homecoming event held in Chapel Hill, in honor of the good general. | Comments: | My daughter, a co-worker, and I were at the "Lights" about ten o'clock one night, sitting on the road just beside the tracks, looking north. Several MTSU students showed up, laughing and chattering as they walked north on the tracks. Suddenly, the light appeared, well on the other side of them. It came closer and closer to them and finally appeared on the near side of them. It was as though it had walked right through them. I have been to the lights several times; one time my car refused to start. My dog growled and got in the back window. He sensed something he didn't like, didn't want to be a part of. | Comments: | I was at Concorde Cemetery near Manchester yesterday evening between 8:30 and 9:30 pm, and picked up several orbs with the flash of my digital camera, and yes one of these orbs appears over Sadie's grave. She is quite a mystery, as no one can find her on any census record from 1860 on, so it is entirely possible she was a small child who was born and died between the censuses. Note also that the 1890 census for all states was destroyed in a fire in Washington, D.C., which is unfortunate. She might possibly have been on that census, but we just don't know. She is buried in the same row with the Howell's and Sherrill's so was possibly related to them in some fashion. If you have a photo section, I would love to contribute my photos.
