We have a yearly reunion in October every year, in Currituck County where they were born and buried. I have extensive records of marriages, births, and deaths, if you need any to fill in your tree.

| Comments: | I'm a descendant of James Asberry "Wadge" Owens who was born in North Carolina in 1843. He moved to Georgia sometime between 1845 and 1847. Then finally to Arkansas and is probably buried in Owens Cemetary in Izard County, AR. His son John Owens is my ggrandfather b.1869 in Georgia d.1903 in AR and buried in Owens Cemetary.
My grandfather is Teddie Thomas Owens b.1903 AR and d. 1993 AR. The parents of James Asberry Owens may be James Owens b. 1802 in NC and Prishy (Prescies, Presia, or Prescine) b. 1820 in NC. A possible marriage date is 29 Oct 1837 in Rutherford, NC. I do not know if I'm related to the John OwensI of this website but love to hear from you about possible connections to John OwensI. What would be the best location to post a query on a Tyrrell County family (Chaplin surname - not in the Owens family tree)? I've sent inquiries to the Tyrrell Co Genealogy site but haven't received a response. I also enjoy reading the minutes from their monthly meetings but notice there haven't been any updates since Feb. 2009. Is the organization still active? Your site is wonderful!
