Je m'appelle Yann Pellan et je suis né le 03 Janvier 1971 à Saint Brieuc dans les Cotes d'Armor en Bretagne (FR-22) mais ma famille est originaire de la campagne aux environs de Hénon et Saint Carreuc dans ce même département. J'ai un frère Jean François né le 02/06/1964 et une soeur Marie-Cécile née le 04/04/1972. Mon père s'appelle Henri Pellan et est né le 16/10/1938 à Hénon et ma mère Maryvonne Lamandé née le 24/09/1940 à Hénon également. Mes grands Parents paternels sont: François Pellan et Victorine Carradeuc nés tous les deux en 1907 je crois et décédés (je n'ai connu que ma grand mère décédée et Janvier 1997) ensuite je n'ai jamais enquêté... Nous avons également des cousins/cousins germains etc... mais il est vrai que malheureusement, étant donné le nombre de filles dans la famille la tendance est à la diminution du nom... Concernant votre site, comment avez vous eu connaissance des écus (haches croisées et soleil sur azur)? Que veulent-ils dire? comment ont ils été obtenus? en effet en france, les écus et autre symboles hiéraldiques sont plutôt attribués à des nobles, comment donc se fait-il que les Pellan(d/t...) en aient également? | Comments: | I have never really given much thought about my Pelland name, how the name was derived, and our history. After stumbling across this web site, I must say I have become quite interested. My name is Greg Pelland, the only child of Jack Pelland, who was the only son of 4 children from Milford Pelland, who was the only son of 2 children from Willard Pelland, who had one brother. I have 3 children, and two of them are boys. Seems like the branch of this tree that I'm on has almost died. I just asked my father where his Grandfather Willard was born and he seems to think it was Clyde Ks. Clyde is a small town in Kansas that is primarily a French community. My granddad lives in Russell Ks., My father lives in Topeka Ks., and I live in Pratt Ks. My great granddad worked on the railroad. My granddad was the manager of the local gas provider in Russell. My dad is a self employeed electrician. I am the manager of an electrical distribution company in Pratt. I noticed alot of my cousins are from Canada. Do any of you like to hunt or fish? | Comments: | I came across Rosalie Pelland/Pellant in trying to locate siblings of my greatgrandfather, Joseph Gelinas. He was born in Quebec in 1847, one of 11 children of Claude Gelinas dit Lacourse and Flavie Bonin who migrated to Huron County, Ontario in 1848. They had a son Remy in 1852, who married Rosalie Pelland in Zurich, Ontario, in 1874-75 and settled in N. Dakota about 1881. They apparently dropped 'Gelinas' and were known as LaCourse. Any notion of Rosalie's antecedents? |

| Comments: | I have just begun a bit of research on my mother's father: Joseph Leon Pelland b. Aug 24th 1884 who married Winnifred Shaw Watson b. Aug 24 1886. My mother is Juanita Vale (Pelland) Brown b. Sept 9, 1914 who married Alfred Martin Brown b. Jan 14, 1911. Their children are Josette Ellen b. Jan 8 1939, myself Marilynne Valerie b. April 8th 1941, Lyle Stanford b. Oct. 21, 1943 and Murray Martin (Duffy) b. Nov 8, 1954. I can provide you with names and birthdates of all our children. I married Ross Allen Black in 1963 and have 2 children Ross Patrick b. March 2, 1964 and Jennifer Colleen b. March 31, 1967. Only Patrick has children: Rebecca Leah and Ross Michael.
