Welcome to my attempt to create a ongoing trip log which I can update from any web browser without having to install ftp programs and change my website each time.

| Comments: | Man, I haven't done anything with this site for years. Sorry about that. I never did put Thailand together as a report and the trip out west, the month in Baja, and China and Korea all in the no report file. I guess I saw the end coming and stopped updating since I saw everyone back home to give the stories in person. Now years later I wish I had the journal entries and photos to go back to.
For those that might still stumble onto this webpage, after the above mentioned trips and a roadtrip from Texas up to Alaska and back, I have finally settled in Vancouver Canada to persue a PhD in Materials Engineering. Maybe someday I will get back to updating this site and make a current events section, but for now it seems the page it dead for better or worse. If you leave a message in the guestbook I still get notified so by all means let me know if anyone still reads this thing and maybe it will motivate me to update it :) Cheers, and a shout out to all those I met along the way! |

| Comments: | Well back in the States. Next week will head out on a road trip
West for a few months and then we'll see. I do need to tidy up the website before I go, but not much activity anymore. Cheers, John |

| Comments: | Well the worst seems to be over. I found some watermellon to eat which of course is a wonder food :) Managed to add some cornflakes today as well. Still extremely tired and weak all the time and eating next to nothing, but I am no longer worried of dying of dehydration up in the room unable to find the energy to come down for water. Currently have the room paid through Sat. but may wind up a lot longer just depending on how long it takes to get back to at least 70% or 80%. Fortunately I stocked up on some new books back in Koh Tao. I don't seem to have much luck coming through this part of the world in July :)... |

| Comments: | Well the decision to leave early was a good one as I woke up chilled sat night, which in Thailand this time of year shouldn't happen. Barely had the energy to get up and pack to catch the ferry sun morning. Tried to dose through the long bus ride up to Bangkok finally arriving around 9pm. Luckily still remembered the way from the bus stop to a hotel I've stayed at before. Since then I've done nothing but sleep and once a day I gather energy to go down and get some water to try and delay dehydration. Have't eaten in three days and no desire to. I must have run across some super strain of Dengue fever crossed with malaria for it to dare attack me like this. Anyway, at this point the battle seems to be stalemated just this side of me heading to a hospital, but if it gets any worse I will have too which is why I am glad to have made it to Bangkok and not be stuck out in the boonies somewhere.
Later guys... |

| Comments: | Took a catamaran to Koh Tao yesterday and rented a bungalow up at View Cliff for 200B a night. Had a nice storm blow in last night to keep things cool. This morning got up at 6:30 uuhgg, and went diving with Dive Point scuba. First dive was on a pinacle a little ways out and had pretty good vis. approx. 15m. Best part of the dive was the huge blanket of sea ananemates completely covering the top of the pinacle. But not as good as the diving at Koh Phi Phi. Second dive was nearer the island and vis was bad. Diving is cheap here and the water warm, but I have to vote for the Andaman coast as the place to go. Tomorrow I take a ferry and then bus up to Bangkok. Caio... |

| Comments: | Still in Samui, but misfortune has struck. Some low life got into my locked bungalow and stole my camera while I was out. So all the pictures from Singapore, Malaysia, and Krabi, Rey lai, and Ko Phi Phi have been lost. Bummer! Probably no pictures of Koh Samui or Koh Tao either. If lucky I might find a new camera in Bangkok, otherwise its going to be a picture free trip. Sounds good right now while I'm pissed off, but I would probably regret it latter. At least I will stop filling up the server for a while :)
In other news I rented a scooter for 150 Baht (about 3.50$) and drove around the island with the two canadians I met on the way over. Got way too much sun, saw some waterfalls, blah, blah, blah... Without new pictures to see I don't this website being much fun. At least my new update system is much quicker and easier for me to use. Hopefully I will find the interest to go back one last time and finish off the Thailand update and such. Later... |

| Comments: | Well I'm in Koh Samui and attempting to start a new trip log that will reduce my work load when entering updates and reduce the need to install ftp software any time I want to add to my website. Until I decide this isn't working please just come here to see what is going on. If you want to leave a message please go back to my main page and go to the guestbook rather than enter something here. Thanks. |
Thanks for visiting, please go to my guestbook if you would like to leave a comment on the new format.
