| Comments: | Greetings! I am a Lawlor and have done a fair amount of research into the family, particularly the relatives of General Joseph O'Lawlor, who served with Wellington in Spain.
My own line goes back to John Lalor and his wife, Margaret Mooney, whose first son was Patrick, born in 1836 in Arles, co. Queens. I wonder if my line could tie into Tenakill. I have just learned there is a 336-page book entitled "The Lalors of Tenakill: 1767-1893" that was written in 1987 by Michael G. O'Brien as a masters thesis at St. Patrick's College, Maynooth. Has anyone in the Clan or family looked into this book? It would be surprising if not. But Daryl Povey of the Ballarat Genealogical Society, who maintains a web page on the Tenakill Lalors, has told me that he did not know about the book. The only copy I can locate online is the original thesis at the library of the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, in County Kildare. I currently live in Austin, Texas with my dad who is Don Lawler and we have traced back to Lawrence Lawler, or Laurence Lawler who immigrated to America in 1870.
