Comments:Hey no-one has been on here for some years. I just stumbled upon this site by googling Alanna Winn. I was very close to her and today is the 10th anniversary of her death and the tragic accident that took the lives of three great girls. I can't believe it's been 10 years. Alanna was everything good about life. I've been through tough times like everyone in the past 10 years. Divorce, co-dependent family members etc... Alanna's spirit has always kept me going when things get bad :-) If anyone reads this I will be leaving some flowers by her memorial today 4/24/08 in front of Blue Valley High School and I would encourage as many people that was a friend of hers to do the same. if you would like to share any stories with me I have many good ones myself. My email is jpcampbell38@gmail.com

You are very inspiring. You have a great homepage. I have enjoyed it a lot. Im sure you have opened so many eyes. Im totally with you on the pop music and how they claim to be good roll models. Well, I dont think they are. Im sorry if other people disagree with me, but they need to put on more clothes and sing about something other than love and romance. Thats all I have to say for now.

Keep on smiling,

Comments:Gregg; I was impressed reading your stuff. You have the
ability to write and express yourself very well. Have you
thought about doing more of it for articles, letters to the
editor etc? First of all it is a great way to expand your
thinking and begin dealing with subjects that are positive
and rewarding. Unfortunately there are a lot of bad things
happening, however, I believe that the reporting made
available to us is unbalanced. In other words bad stuff is
news worthy and most other basically good stuff is not.
With this emphasis on tragedy it's easy to get depressed.
The problem is that in a depressed state it is really
difficult to get anything done. You need to see the good,
to smell the roses, to develop some optimism to feel better
and make progress. Norm

Comments:Ok.. this thing in Littleton has me really freaked out. It feels so close to home, almost like is was someone I knew who was killed. I watch the news and get so sick of hearing Why? How... and then some dumb people try to say it was poor parenting skills, or too much TV Violence, or they were ridiculed by their friends. I honestly get sick to my stomach when I think of it. I am not sure if you believe in the devil, or whatever, but I do. And I think that there is no other explanation for what those kids did except for the fact that they were pure evil. Something was in them that made them very different from us. That is what really worries me. I believe the devil acted out through them. I know this may sound really wacky.. but just think about it long and hard. These kids wanted to blow up 2000 people. They wanted to take the lives from all of their classmates and students for no reason. Just for fun. They sat around and plotted this for a year. What the fuck. That is not some poor little kid who was neglected or watched too much TV violence. That kid had something in him.. something that is unexplainable. I just don't believe it is human nature to want to kill that many people. I can understand a heat of passion, or moment of rage that would make you want to kill someone who wronged you. I think that is human.. but what they did.. no way. I wish people would just stop trying to make excuses for shit like this. They are always trying to find someway to realate this to how these kids were raised wrong. I don't care if you came from a ghetto with parents on crack and saw guns every day. Human nature does not normally call for the mutilation of over 2000 people. To top it off, they did it in the name of hitler. Whom I think was not influenced by human spirit as well.. Something has to take him over, something had to be inside of him. I just for once wish I would hear someone on the news stop trying to make excuses for the pure evil in the world. ... anyway.. bye:-)

Comments:Hey Gregg, You expressed yourself beautifully on your
homepage. I think everyone can definately relate to what
you wrote. I remember in high school when two guys were
shot in a drive-by from a local school...that was totally
devestating to hear how those two young mens lives were cut
too short of all their hopes and dreams. I think about
Littleton and how the two faculty members must have had
families of their own, and had dreams of growing old. And
then I think of the students that died, and how they will
never get to attend college, marry, have children of their
own. I also feel so sorry for the parents of not only the
victims, but the killers. How are they going to live the
rest of their lives with the burden that their sons are
murderers? And I wonder how many times they have asked
themselves if they could have put a stop to the snowballing
behavior of their sons way before this happened. One thing
I am sure of is now all the victims have a new wonderful
place in Heaven. And even though it doesn't take away the
grief, at least there is peace in knowing the victims are
with God. Everyone is Praying for you Littleton!

my faith in God keeps me calm and I can heal myself with
His love and guidance in my paths I choose for my life. I
wish you the same. God bless your family and especially

Comments:Gregg, that was an excellent, heartloving page you
created. I think about when I was in high school just a
short 5 years ago, that we never encountered any gun
viloence. If it was anything it was fist fighting. It's
sad to see, read and hear that kids at this day and age are
even thinking and acting out such distasteful acts of
death. This tradegy has changed my perspective on life and
on how i wish to raise a family. Some many concerns and so
many thoughts run rampid through my mind when I think of
what happened in Littleton. My heart and prayers go out to
the families, students and friends in Colorado. To everyone
from Littleton, CO: You have a lot of people praying for
you and hoping the best for you. Hang in there! God Bless

unbelieveable. Throughout my life I have seen the little
stuff that one person can do to another just to laugh at
the other's expense, but we've always had people to fall

Comments: This webpage feels like dejavu to me.The webpage you made in the remembrances and reflections of the lives of Alanna Winn, Amanda Bush, and Jennifer Defranco made me think of what happened that day when 5 girls, in a convertible on their way to a softball game, were in a fatal car accident which killed 3 of them. I thought how could this happen to these 15 yr. old girls? Why did they have to be taken from their lives, the lives of their families, friends and loved ones? How does one keep going on when someone close to you dies? These questions are difficult to reconcile with but its important everyone that these 3 beautiful intelligent talented girls' lives touched, be remembered for the joy they brought to so many people. It shows they did bring so much more than joy to every life they touched. I know this because I thought it was important for me and my best friend, who knew all the girls that had passed away, but for me to have closure in this local event, even though I never met any of the girls before, but would have loved to gotten to know them. Yes, I chose to go to 2 of the girls' funerals, for support of my best friend and of my older sister, whose babysitter was Alanna, in order to reach this closure. It was heartbreaking to actually see and hear with my own eyes and ears how many people are going to miss Alanna, Amanda, and Jennifer. During the repercussions in the news of the accident which went on for awhile after the tragedy took place, I felt deep sympathies for the families and friends of the ones that died and the girls who lived through the horrible accident. I felt this that it hit this close to me, how could I ever imagine the grief that all the people in these girls' lives have to go through and find the strength to keep going on with their own lives. This is why I can relate with someone like myself and probably every person in this world on what it is like and how it feels to lose someone you love, someone you have never met, or even someone that is a total stranger to you that you read about in the news. It is something called death which happens in all of our precious lives. That is why it is important we don't take for granted our gifts of life. You never know when it will be your turn to go but in the meantime we must live, learn, and grow forever. Thanks for giving me the chance to tell you how I feel about this horrible tragedy that happened in the city I live in, I hope it gives everyone everywhere a chance to reach closure in having to deal with the loss of a loved one.
My thoughts and prayers to the families of Alanna, Jennifer, and Amanda.

Comments:I guess I'm lucky, I've never had to experience anything this "real" in my life. But with the news that I'm going to bring an innocent life into this cruel world makes you stop and think desperately about the events taking place in our world.

Thank you for taking the time to pay your respects to those you've lost. I know that you have touched my heart and many others. May God be with you.

Comments:WEll I just wanted to say that this page brought tears to my eyes. I know the pain and the suffering this families are going through. My family went throught the exact same thing June 25, 1997. My little sister and I were in a car accident that took her life. I was lucky to make it through the accident, they weren't to sure if I would be around, they told my family to prepare for the worst. But I made it through all of it. Even though my sister wasn't here but only 14 years, it still hurts. I know that my sister is in alot better place and obviously she was taken for a reason. It could of been me, my ex boyfriend that was driving or the passenger but he had better plans for my sister and he needed her more than he needed us. My heart goes out to the family and friends that lost the 3 girls in April. It is unfortunate that the good ones go young. I can't express this enough, everyone needs to stop taking life for granted and start taking it more serious. I am not saying this to make everyone feel bad but it is the truth. To many young ones are dying because of stupidity. The family and friends are the ones who have to live with the hurt and the pain of losing someone so close to us. I can say that me and my sister were there for each other when we needed one another, we were inseperable. So I am trying to deal with the loss of my sister and my best friend at the same time. It kills me hearing all these other stories. I have also lost a best guy friend a year ago by a drunk driver..the guy hit him and left Mike in his car burning...do people just not care or what???? I just want everyone to know the ones we have lost are in good hands and they will NEVER EVER be forgotten. Best wishes everyone :) Keep your heads up high!!!! I LOVE YOU EMILY (sis January 15, 1983-June 25, 1997) and MIKE (March 9,1980-August 5, 1996) rest in peace...bye everyone

Comments:Well, I have had the privilege of getting to know you. I look forward to knowing you better. Your willingness to share and give is all that a friend could ever hope to find. You did this not for yourself but for the sake of others, whom you did not even know. Your the type of person one can only dream to call their best friend. This is something I think you should know. People who are caring and generous as you are, will never be alone. There will always be someone who has seen the happiness you brought others and will be there to comfort you. I read a poem about best friends that reminded me of you, and made me hope that someday I would be able to be that person.

I too have expierenced a loss of the nature of your page. My senior year of high school a friend of mine, was killed in Pittsburgh, KS. She left a party with a boy she met there. They were both drunk and got on a motorcycle without wearing helmets. The driver his sand and spun out, and we lost our friend, Nicki Smith. I think things like this are such a tragedy esspecially when they happen to people of our generation. It really hits home because we have friends and have put ourselves in some of the very same situations, only we were not so unfortunate. It is really hard to deal with the loss of a young person, because you think of all things that they hadnt experienced and how much the future held. The only problem with that is that someone obviously had an alternative future planned for them and this is something we need to remember no matter how difficult it might be.

Comments:I came in the day after this article was made to make more
picrures of my little sister, after seeing this in the
homepage, I was more moved than any words could possibly
express. Although this man knew not who I was or anything
about the people in this tragedy, he still took the time to
convey his thoughts and feelings to us all. I want to
express my utmost gratitude and appreciation to everyone
that has supported and been there for our family and those
of the other girls. There is no greater feeling in the
world to know how much people really care and want to offer
a helping hand in the face of such a tragedy. To not only
my beloved sister, but to all the girls that so tragically
lost their lives on friday, may G-d watch over them and may
they rest in peace. They will never be forgotten!!!

Comments:Well I kind of know how you feel...DO you remember the guy that was killed in Wichita about a month ago by a cop in a car accident??? Well he went to school here at KU, and I went to HS with him.. His name was Shay Vangus. I am sure you have all heard about it if you read the UDK. Well the night that it happended I was in Wichita. My firends and I were all out at this club/resturaunt called Margaritas. Well I saw Shay that night like 30 minutes before the accident happened. We were talking and having a good time, he put his arm around me and was like we were best friends, that was the last time I saw Shay. Then he left, and then a couple days later, I found out that right after he left, he was killed in a car accident by a cop in distress that failed to yeild on a red light and hit shay and killed him instantly of massive head injuries.
After I found out about the accident, I had that feeling of guilt, even though I know that it was not my fault. I kept thinking that if I would have just talked to Shay for 2 more minutes he would have missed that cop going through the intersection.
It just made me really realize how quickly a life can be taken and how hard it is to cope with it. Shay and I were not close friends, but where i am from everybody is friends with everybody. And it also made me realize how much of an impact that loosing a friend can be on everybody.
