| Comments: | WOW - just got nostalgic today and began to explore "classmates.com" again. Then found this site again from info I picked up at reunion a few years back. Noticed it had been almost 6 years since I signed in, so I'm adding an update and hope you guys will also.
My oldest daughter Ashley is now a senior at Texas A&M studying sociology, probably going on to grad school. Loves working with children and doing inner city work. Youngest daughter Stacey is a senior in high school, looking to a performing arts degree in dance (ballet or musical theater probably). We just got back from Oklahoma where she auditioned at OU for the ballet program, then we visited Oklahoma City University and had a wonderful experience. She's also auditioning and looking at Univ. of Texas, TCU, Sam Houston State, and SMU. I lost my job in February and haven't found even part time work. I try to volunteer and keep busy. Decided to work my first election poll in two weeks and went for training today. Also still doing my extensive genealogy and love it. Lost my mom last year, dad in 1993. Have two sisters in Vero Beach, FL and Odessa, TX. Keep up with George Holland, Al Beyerchen, Wanda Ward, Mary Beth Christman and that's fun. Let me hear how your doing....love you all, Bettiann |

I moved to Lompoc during the middle of the '62/'63 schoold year. After graduation I moved to San Mateo County and attended College of San Mateo and Cal State Hayward. I met my wife of 35 years at Cal State Hayward. We have two children Marc 34 and Denise 23. They both live within 20 minutes of us. Neither are married and we have no grandchildren yet. I worked most of my life as a sales engineer selling telecommunications testing equipment. In 1994 I quit my day job and since then have been employed in my own business selling communication systems and equipment to hotels. I would enjoy hearing from old classmates. Herbert "Jim" Morgan and Bob Stevens are two friends that I lost touch with long ago. If you know where they are, please advise. I am not able to attend 60's reunion but should make the 40TH. That Ozzie Werner is a real wuss, ain't he? I tell you it is plumb sad to see how he turned out. Did you know he up and joined the U.S. [snicker, snicker] Navy? Yeah, air conditioned boats and exotic sea ports was the way he had it figgered. Well, the Navy is a little smarter than I thought - they promptly kicked his ass out in the grass where it belonged with a bunch of Marines. Oh, don't you know they made him quiver. Why, I flew plumb across a nation one day back in WWNAM to go and see him up to Chu Lai - but he heard a US Army helicopter bearing a big patch with a horse head on it was inbound and he did the only reasonable thing he could do - he went and hid out so's I couldn't find him. I was surrounded by enemy Migs during that entire run and was at considerable personal peril during most of the morning. Migs to the left of me, Migs to the right of me. I was upside down, outta gas and on fire . . . all them air medals kept hangin' down from my chest and coverin' my eyes and I could barely see the missles whiz by me . . . I am the only Army Aviator that ever had bad guys try to interrupt his skillful flying with mortars as I flew by them. reunions over the years, I never got my lazy butt in gear and made it down to Lompoc. Part of that time Lompoc was a long way away, but that isn't the case any more, so no more excuses. I guess a 40 year reunion would be next, ... I've been in the computer business, on the software side, since '69. Lately, I've been involved in a startup that provides engineering services to consumer electronics manufacturers. We do work in digital TV and wireless gadgets like cellphones. A lot of our clients are in Japan, so I make a lot trips there. I'm married and have a 3 year old daughter (better late than never :-) It would be fun to hear from some of you. |

Memorial is not me. However, there was almost two there for a while. Last set foot in Lompoc Dec 66, I was on a brief vist while in Special Foces Medical training. Ended up in VietNam 67-68. As you can see, made it back. I did the college gig after the army and have been working for the Department of Health, State of Florida for 28 years. In the past month I have been bless to open communication with some very old and dear fiends, Tom Moore, Harry Wells, Casey Wilson and I hope many more in the future. I have a brother in Santa Barbara and drove through Lompoc on my way to Santa Cruz to see an old army buddy. What in the h--- happend to the drive in and putt putt golf? It would look better as a parking lot. The email address is a product of my wife's (25 years no kids) hobby which is tying fishing flies. They're free for the asking. She is my stabilizing force. A pharmacist and really good at math. I manage HIV/AIDS contracts that flow from the government to the state and into the local communities. I've not attended any reunions thinking as wild and crazy as I was, who would want to revist that. As it turned out I live a normal life riding fast motorcycles and cars. did three deployments in southeast Asia. I got out in January 1974. I spent the next 25 years working as a Tech- Rep(technical representative) for the Navy working on radar and missile fire control systems. I retired in 1998 and now coach basketball for fifth and sixth grade boys and girls at my son's school. My son is now 11 years old and my wife ,Jean, is a flight attendant for American Airlines. known about this sooner, I would have made it to the 35th reunion. It's amazing I remembered (well, with a little help from the yearbook) a lot of the people in the pictures. After graduation my father retired from VAFB and we moved to Orlando, FL. I married my husband, Jon, in 1969 and we have one son, Jon Christian (28) who is getting married next year. I am also mother to an older daughter, Kim (granddaughter Sydney is 4) and an older son, Mike. My husband retired in 1999 (34 years) from a city utility company and is back working for them as a consultant. I retired in 1999 (25 years) as a secretary for a law firm and am now working part-time as an assistant to a paralegal. My husband and I belong to a corvette club (CFCA-largest in FL) and we are about to leave for a car show in Carlisle, PA next week. I will definitely keep looking at this site for more information on any upcoming reunions. Even though Lompoc is waaaaay out west, my husband loves to travel, so it's just another excuse to get in the car and drive - ANYWHERE! Looking forward to more information and pictures. |

| Comments: | I moved to Lompoc at the beginning of my senior year, so I
didn't know too many people and I don't think many people knew me. After graduation I attended Cal Poly (SLO) where I met and married my husband, Harrison Clark, at the end of my sophomore year. We moved back east where we lived for 20 years. I graduated from the State University of NY at Albany and received my master's degree from Union College in Schenectady, NY. I taught math for 6 years and then we began our family -- a son Jeff who recently graduated from Harvey Mudd College and now works for Microsoft and a daughter, Traci who is a junior at the University of Oregon, studying advertising. We now live in Granite Bay, CA outside Sacramento. My husband is a semi-retired electrical engineer (still does consulting) and I teach math part time at the local community college and tutor high school students. We recently returned from a trip to South Carolina where we visited Nancy Newsome Henderson, another '64 grad. have cement under our feet. Actually this is my home and my roots go back 100 years. SO, guess I will hang around another 100 years! I have 5 children between the ages of 20 and 32 years old. They are in various stages of their adult life, which I try to steer clear of!! Teddy, Larry, Terri, Jimmy and Tricia are my source of energy. But my grandchildren are the light of my life, all 5 of them. My biggest supporter, my husband Tim, and I are the caregivers for my 82 year old mother. who's interested in playing a round at La Purisma or some other golf course. Not very good but love the game. BTW, the website listed is a race drivers' website, so it's not my page alone, but if you want to see a pic, go to that website, click on drivers' roster, scroll down to car #43, and click on my name in blue. That gets you to my bio and a pic of me and my race car taken at Cajon Speedway in El Cajon about 3 months ago. Car's been back to my sponsor a couple of times for a new nose and new bumper cap. Hit the wall at Cajon on July 3rd with minor scrapes down the right side and some front suspension damage, but finished the race and changed parts in time to race again at Orange Show in San Bernadino on the 4th. Will do it for two more years and then retire, sell everything and get a new Corvette. I'm getting too old for this racing stuff! |

| Comments: | I attended Vandenberg AFB Jr. High; and Lompoc High in the Class of 1964 until the summer of 1963 when my dad was transferred to Offutt AFB. Janice Riggs and Ricky Swain went with me and we all graduated from Bellevue High, May 1964.
I truly left my friends and "heart" in Lompoc with that move. Would love to see everyone again and hope to renew friendships at the upcoming reunion this summer. Don't miss it - I hope not to. I went on to graduate in 1968 from Univ. of Southern Mississippi; served 2 years as Southern Baptist Missionary Journeyman in Hong Kong; then graduate study at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, CA. I'm now a homemaker in Austin, Texas, with two beautiful daughters, Ashley 16 and Stacey 12. Most of my spare time is spent pursuing genealogy and I work part time for Westwood Community School. |
