Do you think we should go forward on this as a 4 or downgrade it? It will be heard on Wednesday depending on what you think

I’m fine taking this one to hearing… your thoughts?

Are these kids “friends” that were playing together- or was the victim a neighborhood bully beating up on the Bramwell kid?

This one will have to go to hearing. I really think that you should speak with Havilek. She interviewed the Bramwell kid and, I think, thought he was telling the truth about Emnio’s actions. I don’t know if she interviewed Emnio but it is my understanding that he has a fairly significant history of “troubled” behaviors. If Emnio was indeed hitting or attempting to hit the Bramwell kid with a stick and the dog responded to the kid’s cries, that’s a pretty clear “mitigating or extenuating circumstance.” Let’s see what Beloof thinks.

MCAS will not reduce to at large. This little boy required stitches because of the bite- I doubt you would really want your dog doing that to a child.

Beloof is the HO-

Thanks. I’ll talk to her again but Bramwell was pretty firm when we last spoke. Assuming that Harley’s story is true, Falkor did exactly what I would want my dog to do – a firm but controlled bite to the neighborhood bully. Looks like an “at large” to me. Who’s the hearing officer?

This is the case where the little boys were outside and the dog bit the neighbor boy- he went to emergency and had stitches.

I’VE GOT A CALL IN TO BURDICK BUT SEEM TO HAVE LOST THE FILE MATERIALS RE BRAMWELL. MY RECOLLECTION IS THAT SHE HAS A VERY STRONG DEFENSE BUT . . HOW ABOUT SENDING ME ANOTHER COPY OF THE BRAMWELL FILE AND I’LL TRY TO GET THIS DONE.

Lori Salo

Hi

My name is Lori Salo and I am interested in bringing a Cairn Terrier into my family. I have grown up with terriers. My mother had Welsh Terriers when I was growing up. And as an adult I have had a Welsh Terrier, two Wire Fox Terriers and a West Highland White Terrier. Sadly, last year my beloved Booker, wire fox terrier, died of kidney failure. I currently have two dogs that I brought home from life on the streets in Costa Rica, I love them, but I miss having terrier joy and energy and smiles in my life. I have recently seen 4 different cairn terriers while I was out walking around Capitol Lake in Olympia. I loved how they look and how friendly they are and so I began to research the breed. I would like to bring a Cairn Terrier into my family.

We live on two acres and on the beach. We have a large fenced yard. My family includes two children, ages 4 and 7, who have been raised with Wire fox terriers, two dogs, and one cat, and a wonderful husband. I am a fairly dog savy person. I worked with Booker using clicker training and positive conditioning so that we were able to pass the Delta Societys Pet Partner Test. We then volunteered together in an Animal Assisted Activity Program through St. Peters Hospital in Olympia. We visited sick children and their worried parents in the pediatric division of the hospital.

I have trained my other two dogs using clicker training in basic obedience and I have two friends that are Clicker Trainers. I have read many books about dog behavior and psychology. Authors: Ian Dunbar, Karen Pryor, Jean Donaldson, Pat Miller, Sue Sternberg to name a few. I am a stay at home mother, although I am out and about away from home approximately four hours a day. I take my dogs for a two mile walk almost every day. I believe I would offer a puppy or dog a very loving home.

I am willing to wait for the right puppy or older dog to bring into our family. I would like a dog that has the potential to work with me as a therapy dog. So I would like a dog that likes people, other dogs, and is not timid. I understand that I can expose a puppy and condition a dog to other dogs, kids, women, men, cars, wheelchairs etc. But a dogs temperament plays a large part in their ability to be sociable.

Do you think you can help me find a puppy or dog that will fit with us? Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Lori Salo

http://dogtodiva.com Congratulations on your Westminster win and all the other wins and good thing you and "All Your Children" have accomplished. I'm a huge Cairn lover and getting ready to add a new member to our family. I'm doing my research now so I can hopefully become more involved with training and shows with a high quality puppy. I have the time now and am ready to jump in.
