Stumped with what to do with all of the bows and ribbons from the shower gifts I started a tradition with my bride-to-be friends. Simply take and arrange the decorations into a bouquet and veil to be used as props during the rehearsal. | Comments: | I gave a Karaoke Couple Bridal Shower. It was a BLAST!!!I decorated my living room in Black material with lava lamps and hooked the music machine to my 50inch flat screen. We ate tacos, finger foods, and made the kitchen buffet style serving. We made games with the music. The shower was only a 2 hour shower, but we sang from 6-midnight!!! We were exhausted, but EVERYONE had fun!!! We adourned the bride and groom in glow jewelery, gave them light clapping hands, decorated them a rootbeer mug that they now use in thier own home. Like I said...it was a hit! |

But I wanted to add an idea to your site if you would like it:
As I said, I just had the wedding for my eldest daughter and I wanted to add one more suggestion for a bridal shower idea that worked so well for us: The thank you cards were bought with the theme for my daughter's bridal shower. When everyone arrived, at their place setting (it was a luncheon) was the envelope for the thank you card with a nice personalized pen the person could keep as a gift. (The pen had a message of thank you for coming to Candice's shower and I had a bow tied around it with a charm.) If it is not a sit down luncheon you can have it at a table as they enter and have the envelopes with several pens to use (you don't have to give a pen as a gift)-- and ask them to fill out the envelope!! I asked each person to fill out the envelope with their name and address on the envelope. I made a pretty basket to match the theme of the shower and asked them to put envelope in the basket as we would have a drawing. After all envelopes were in the basket, at several times during the shower, we rang a bell and the bride drew one of the envelopes out the basket and that person won a prize. It's a VERY convenient way for the bride to have everyone's thank you note already addressed properly and the guests enjoy a prize. We had 4 drawings at different times during the shower as she didn't want any games anyway!! Just a quick idea and it worked so wonderful and many people said they would use the same idea!! I thought I would leave a game for you to add if you like it for others to use... Its called Honeymoon ramblings - To Play Give each guest a piece of paper and a marker. Have them put the paper on the floor in front of them. Let them then try to bend over and trace their right hand on the paper. However, they must do this without bending their knees at all! While everyone is attempting to do this, have one person record on a piece of paper what everyone is saying. Once everyone is done, announce, "This is what (bride's name) is going to say on her wedding night." Then read all of the responses. Some of the responses might include: "No way." "This really hurts." "This is easier than I thought it would be." "I can almost reach it." Let the bride have the sayings as a keepsake. Thanks again, Doris Barry |

| Comments: | Hey, great site. I need help about ten years ago my sister got married and someone for her shower made her a unique gift decoration out of an ironing board.
Using the ironing board as a girls body and a inch high push out bottom fluted edged like probably stainless steel pie plate or crepe plate you push the bottom out to release the item made. That was for the head. Then using a string mop for the hair. and an apron for the clothes. I can't find anywhere this idea came from. Have you heard of this before. I am trying from memory to remake this but it would be easier for the instructions. The pockets and stuff was filled with all kinds of kitchen items the bride could use. Wooden spoons, measuring cups ext. Everything when taken apart would be able to be used for the bride and her hubby later. Do you know of anywhere instructions for something like this could be found thanks alot, kathy It really is a unique idea and it was kind of a show stopper nobody had seen something like this before. And I have never been to another party were there was one since. a big syroform ball, glue to a paperplate with a paper doily. Tell everybody that when their gift is opened, they must go and insert flowers into the ball. This will make her "rehearsal boquet"....made by everybody with love. |

In planning my niece's shower, I decided to make a list for the RSVP's and had an "Aha" moment. I created a table on the computer with the guests' names and addresses with space to put their RSVP and a space where the maid of honor will write the gifts down. Now the bride has all of the guests' information and their gifts in one place for the thank you notes. |

I have a game idea for you Have a small flower bouquet made,using artifical or real if you dont mind the mess. haha First you gather everyone in a circle. Hand the bouquet to one person telling them to keep passing it around .Playing music the whole time.,when the music STOPS whoever is holding the flowers must sit down. Much like hot potato. You will be suprised how much fun it is and when the numbers get down to 4,3,2 its alot of laughs. |

I have one that you might like. When I printed the mailing labels for Rosa's wedding shower invitations, I printed a second set along with a set of return address labels for her. All were printed in the same font as her invitations and with the same theme. I also printed thank you note cards with the same rose/heart theme. I bought her a book of love stamps, so that all she has to do is write inside and the hardest part is done. |
