For my own meager attempt to explain, I will point out that your attention to the depth of detail is superb. Your art style, which I'll admit, I'm no artist, suits the setting well, with it's glowy, airbrush ambiance. I find the story engaging, humorous and dramatic. But seriously, the artwork is fantastic. I've recommended this to all my friends.

It had a similar setting to Level, but people had superpowers due to a corrupt monopolistic company in a city during an economic depression... Thanks for your comic, it's great fun to read - the art and story are both very involving. I certainly don't envy you for coloring all that stuff (esp. that welcome image with the city... o_O). I'd have gone apesh*t crazy long ago. :) Only one little nag: could you lighten up the text pages a bit? Maybe my gamma correction is way off, but the (relatively small) dark purple letters on black ground are virtually unreadable... at least for me. Just a suggestion, it's not important, all I have to do is override your CSS (using Opera -> Author/User mode CSS) when I want to read the news, it's no biggie. Just wanted to give a bit of feedback... Whatever. Keep on rocking, and greets from germany! |

I tried reading it awhile back and I have to say, the drawing style distracted me from the really cool plot. Tonight I picked it up again, and wow! The drawings from the Muse's death on are to die for. And the Kagami(my, I'll be embarassed if I spelled that wrong) are so hauntingly perverse and wonderful, I love them! They reming me of Tim Burton but not as freakishly skinny. I'm rambling, but Nate, your art is gorgeous and I hope you develop this series to its fullest potential. |

Yeah, you can tell that you needed practice, and yeah, it wasn't exactly beautiful but you could at leaat tell what it was aim to look like. It has become a lot better though. :) I'm usually not that into this sort of art/comics but I really like this one.

The idea of a city above the ground level gives this a definate change in perspective and gives us all plenty of questions go along reading for the answers.

| Comments: | For the life of me I can't remember what link I used to get to this comic. I was rather sleepy at the time, and accidentally started reading at Episode 4, thinking it was Episode 1. Despite that, it wasn't confusing and I enjoyed reading the comic immensely. It felt like it could have been a scripted In Medias Res effect, as I was drawn into the middle of the adventure. I marveled at the epic cityscapes of the future, and the strange catacombs beneath; I found myself eagerly awaiting the next revelation about the characters or the story.

I've not really been into comics throughout the years, but I have had a sudden interest within the past year or so, I think its to do with my interests in animation spreading into new areas for me, and what with doing a degree in art as well, well I've been looking for sources for the 'new' myths based on the tradition of today, rather than the values of yesterday, I think my history of roleplaying has a lot to do with it as well. Well leveL struck a sudden interest in me as I came across the site quite by accident, I must say it's quite a welcome interest. I look forward to reading some more.

i admit, i have my own hopes for the comic but i would never share them with you. continue to do what you do and make sure this comic finishes! if there is one thing i dont like and wave an angry fist, at its unfinised comics that are great works of art. why is it that so many of the bad comics get completed? tell me that one! anyway, i just hope you finish the comic, as it deserves to be completed and not just in your head. imagine, if you will, that say... | Comments: | Hello, i read through LeveL a few minutes ago (i am an extremely fast reader) and I really enjoyed it. Don't worry about formal training either, an artist doesn't need a degree or anything to prove he is an artist, in fact some of the best artists I have known never had any formal training and while some went on to have training there were to many restrictions. Oh and back to the comic--I like the characters, they are disinct and well developed which can be hard to find, the plot is also well thought out and the layout of the comics works well. I liked the script as well. Its great that you are skilled at both writing and drawing. I would make a comic if I could draw, but my skills will not extend beyond writing though I have tried. (sorry this got so long.)

This comic rules. It hs officially become one of my absolute favorites:D the art is beautifull( i simply love the way you colour. You are a colour-god><) the story is really interesting. And the characters... Summery, cool stuff! Alright, the site is a bit dark. Maybe it's just my screen, but it's a bit difficult to read the smaller text used on the links and main bodies of paragraphs.
