A 3rd Maryland Infantry Vol. and moved to Tennessee in 1865 to marry Mary E. Linton and raise a family ( Charlie, George, Ida, Dave, Mary Ann (Mayme), Lousie (Lula), Scott, Jack and William) the family lost touch in the 1960's when the Hampton house in Tracy City Tenn. was sold. Most of the Barnett had moved to Memphis and Alabama. am trying to find information about Joel Nuzum who was supposedly the father of Elizabeth Jane. She married Eli Roberts in Marion County, West Virginia, in 1851, and had moved to Wood County by 1853. Eli fought in the Civil War and then the family headed to Kansas. Eli and Elizabeth Jane are my great-great-grandparents. My family didn't seem to keep any records. My dad and his cousins were not aware of who their great-grandparents were so it has been tough even getting started. to me. I graduated PHS '71. And you? I am very interested in genealogy. My roots are in Parkersburg and accross the mid state area with names such as Roush (my maiden name), Chadock, Richardson, Stanley, Meadows, Cottrill, Nutter, Mauller, Rardin to name a few. :) I live 35 miles from Aspen, Colorado now, but the Internet has certainly brought me closer to what's happening in the home of my heart, West Virginia. I have had a great deal of experience with foster care families. I have not had foster children of my own, but have helped many of my friends in that direction and many were able to adopt their foster children and give them the life time of love that they so desperately need. I feel blessed to have helped couples who were unable to bear their own children fill those empty spaces with much love and joy. I would love to be an e-mail pal!
