Comments: I have a Netherland Dwarf Sable Martin doe named Mollie.
She is the only rabbit I currently have, and will be one
year old in February, 2000. I started out with New Zealand
Whites when I was a kid, had a long period when I had no
rabbits, and then got one again when I bought a house in
1996. His name was Kenny and he was my love. He looked
alot like Keiko, he was a Netherland Dwarf Black Otter
buck. He was almost 6 when he died in May,1999. Upon
autopsy, they found he had liver damage and kidney damage
and Encephalitozoonosis, a disease old bunnies get of the
brain. His liver damage and kidney damage may have been
due to a coccidiosis infection, the veterinarian wasn't
sure. I didn't think bunnies could catch infections if they
were kept inside all the time and were not exposed to other
rabbits or rabbits who were ill. But some can carry
infection(s) for years and when they get old the infection
can catch up with them. All I knew before he died was that
he had a molar which was too long and he wasn't eating
well. He died under the anesthesia when the veterinarian
at the University of Missouri Veterinary clinic was looking
at his molar and wanted to take advanced radiographs of it.
I know a fair amount about rabbits after all these years

free to email me. I love rabbits. I call my rabbit Mollie
Dolly, but she is still feeling her adolescence and is very
naughty alot of the time. I hope in time she will become as
tame and affectionate as Kenny was. I have also had in the
last 3 years several other rabbits, Candy, Casey, Kyle, and
Little Bitty. (All are still alive except Kyle). Let me
