| Comments: | I just found out that about the loss of my dear teacher, Mr. Highfill. 20 years ago I took zoology from him and he inspired me to love science. Because of his awesome teaching, I became a nurse and even got a Master's Degree in nursing. I often wondered how my favorite teacher was doing and am so sad about his passing. |

I was so saddened to hear of his passing. His sense of humor was wonderful. I have so many good memories of being on their farm as a child. I always looked up to him. | Comments: | Eternal Color
In spring, tree's leaves were merely buds when everything was new.
They couldn't shade, nor hide a bird, but every day they grew.
Now autumns here, and leaves have turned from summertime's full bloom.
They separate from branch, their home, and snow will be their tomb.
How sad that when they're at their peak it's time for them to go.
Yet, how colorful they made this world; it was God's plan, I know.
Your life, too, was most beautiful; how brightly shown your heart.
For now, my friend, your've joined the leaves, and from us, did depart.
Separated from us on earth you've joined the Lord above.
We'll miss you here, our dearest friend, but glad you tought us love.

| Comments: | Ken, I am sorry that I never got to know you personally but I have read some of your fine articles and your comments on the board. Thru them I got a glimpse of what a great heart you had for not only birds and animals but for your fellow man.
I am proud to be a moderator on a board that you created. You created these wonderful boards in order to further the cause of our feathered friends and to educate people. To that end I also strive.
It goes without saying that you will be missed by many but you have left a wonderful legacy which can never be erased.
Fly free Ken!!

| Comments: | Many years ago I took in a cockatiel that was deserted in a shoe box in front of a pet supply store. I went to a vet for an exam but to learn more about the care of this wonderful girl, my Priscilla, I searched and found Tiel Talk. It was a great resource and a fun place to "hang out". I remember one day years ago when I wanted to find out where everyone was from and I became "Jan in MD" and still post as that... all because of Tiel Talk!
Thank you both for all you have created for the love, care and well being of our avian friends. |

But alas it is not and so the sun shines a little less bright on this earth without you. The good things you did will be remembered by all for years to come, but I will smile from time-to-time when I think of your sense of humor. When you get a chance give Mackee a head scratch for me. Fly free my friend. Wings are wonderful. |

Just one of many, I will be forever grateful for the

world over are healthier and happier because of this
wonderful site.

| Comments: | In April of this year I unexpectedly re-homed a wonderful 7 y/o U2. I franticly searched the web for information regarding her care and found Birdsnways. The first thing I read was Ken's Fab Four Fables. I laughed, cried, and found comfort in them, as well as hope and inspiration. Thank you Ken and Carol for sharing your life in those stories. It changed mine forever and made me a better birdy mom.

I remember very early on asking a question that was answered by Kend with his usual wit. I thought he was a troll and e-mailed the administrator who laughingly advised, "Carolyn, he owns the board". Those little embarrassing moments.
Rest easy, Ken and thank you for your legacy of love. Say hi and give scritches to my Tippy and Kita. You will be missed.
