| Comments: | Hi Sharon,
I did not know Tom from the Old Wbs but I was a chatter there back in 1997 until it closed. I too loved it as you guys did. Some of my chat friends have gone on to spirit world and I miss their energy in our chats. I think those of us who chatted at the Old WBS have a fondness of those days that will never be replaced. I have attempted to create a place that while certianly not the Old WBS is simliar enough that those of us who wish to reunite can. You can visit anytime you wish. You would be welcome. ppf |

wow... years have passed so quickly! Have no doubt that Tom's memory continues to live on. I was exploring a few cemeteries recently looking for clues to my roots and I thought fondly of Tom and his dedication to preserving the past. It was impossible not to imagine him on his hands and knees, rubbing paper and pencil against stone... being cajoled to call it a day and hearing him say "just one more!" :) I also remember his brutal cyber coffee... nasty! LOL! At least, that's what he served me... some others might have got the good stuff! Would love to hear from you - glad to hear you're well! *hugs* Lynn (aka Durham Kitty) |

| Comments: | Hi,
I was surprised to find this page. I'm Tom's cousin from California. I was quite shocked to hear of his passing in 2000. The last time I was back there was in '92. I always remember his dry sense of humor. He was always teasing our grandmother (Hazel Clutters). He was also a die hard Reds fan. He must have been disappointed with Pete Rose. It seems though he never got over his dad's death in the late '70's. |

| Comments: | I first knew Tom when he was friends with my brother
Stanley, later he became friends with my husband Perry. Even though Perry and I divorced I still considered Tom as one of my good friends. I know Perry lost his best friend when he lost Tom. I also know how it as hurt Thelma and Sharon. It has to be some relief to them to know how many people loved Tom. Tom was a great friend. Cindy Campbell |

I am so shocked and sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He and I went to school together and graduated from "the grove" in 1970. We had corresponded fairly recently regarding genealogy, as we had just stumbled onto one another again. (That was in 1999, I believe, and he spoke of working with the cemetery project.) Please accept my sincere sympathies, and know that I will miss a former friend/classmate, as well. May God watch over you! |

| Comments: | i only met tom once, on my last trip i made to lawrence
county, i have been exploring many abandoned cemeteries in hamilton township looking for the graves of relatives that lived in hanging rock i had many photographs that i have taken over the past few years and tom took the time to look at them, he also confirmed the location of a few cemeteries that i was looking for and have yet to explore. when the subject of the civil war came up tom told me that was what he was working on, the veterans list, he took the time to show me a few things that he had found on the website he was researching although i was only around him for a few hours i learned a lot from him probally the one that amazed me the most was when i found that i had a relative buried in woodland cemetery section 6, tom told me go to the back of the cemetery and you will find a centered section that is section 6, it was an easy find in a big cemetery with those directions we discussed many other cemeteries and their conditions, i believe that when i resume my search, which will be soon, tom will be my guide a lasting memory from a few brief hours, tom i thank you dan compston |

| Comments: | Yankee Tom was one of the first friends I made online. Back
then, I was married and the relationship was horribly abusive. Tom would PM me with words of encouragement and friendship... without his support, as well as the support of all my friends I made in the BP room, I know I wouldn't be where I am today... I've remarried since leaving the BP room... my new life is so much more special than I could have ever dreamed.. but it was Tom who kept telling me to keep hoping and dreaming.. that I'd one day have the life I envisioned.... as usual, YT was right! You'll always be loved and remembered Tom... and (((SIS))) I'm always here... *S* Mum |

| Comments: | I first met Tom in the BP chatroom and that is also where I
first met Sharon. We became good friends. What GREAT memories of that room, how we would have cyber drinks and Tom was always the bartender and Sharon was the bar maid. Those of us who knew them well , knew they were destined to be. Soul mates, for sure. Tom was a good, kind man who ALWAYS made me smile, He was easy to talk to and good at knowing when one needed advice and good at knowing when one needed to work things out for themselves. I was blessed to meet Sharon in real life on two separate occassions, once when she was with Tom. Remember how DAMN cold it was that day?? :-) But the warmth of friendship was more than enough to make up for the howling winds and sub zero temps. Angels come into our lives in wondorous ways And bless us with kindness and friendship With whispers of touches and butterfly kisses to our hearts and souls. Tom you are were an angel on earth and now you are one high in the heavens looking down upon us all. We miss you! |

| Comments: | I really miss Tom, I'm typing on the computer where I
always sat while he worked on his civil war soldiers next to me. I can still see him take off his hat, lay it on top of the computer monitor, throw his head back and smooth his hair down. Take his hat off the monitor and put it back on his head. Whenever we went out to eat, I always got to the door first and held it open, but he always held the door for me and let me enter first. He was a real gentleman. I will always remember him teasing Martha Kounse, and getting the best of her and saying, "It's too easy." I will be helping Martha with the Civil War soldiers and making sure we find all of his guys, and that none of them get lost. Miss you Tom. Peggy |

| Comments: | Tom was not only my best friend, but he 'adopted' me as his
little sister and he became my 'big brother.' He loved to tease me and I would always fall for his jokes. He loved that. We had so much fun, going to Sharonville, Ohio and Frankfort KY. Almost everyday, for the last eight months, we would go out to lunch and see who could drink the most sweeten ice tea, then we would see who could hold out the longest afterwards <you know Tom, ha ha> Gosh I miss him so much, everything I do reminds me of him and something we did together. Him, myself, and friend Peggy Wells have so many precious memories...I think of him all day long. I don't think I will every be able to go to our eating places again... I didn't realize how close he was to me, but I do now. Tom, I KNOW you are watching us and laughing!! I can just hear him saying, "Don't call me Shirley", or telling me one of his jokes. He was so intelligent, I will always admrire him. What I wouldn't give to have him here just one more time so I can give him a "little sister hug". I love you Tom and those civil war soldiers will not be forgotten, I promise to carry on your project you loved so much. Love, Martha |

| Comments: | ((((YT))))...I can't say how many times I thought of you
over the last year or so, and missed talking to you online in WBS. You were on a short list of my favourite people to just hang out with and talk with about nothing....or everything. You had a hand in introducing me to the love of my life....If it weren't for you, we'd have never met. We talk about that from time to time. I remember the laughs we shared, the swearing contests, the unbiased opinions you gave, the great advice and of course the bad coffee you made every morning *lol*. Most of all, I remember Sharon telling me how wonderful you are, how much she loved you, and how she beamed when she talked about you. I'm so glad I met you in this life...and I miss you Tommy...xoxoxo |
