Went to pick him up this morning and was told that someone else had collected him (mistaken him for their cat) taken him home and let him out, this was last Thursday 23rd Sept. 04. He hasn't been seen since & I have been walking the streets all day. garden! I'm a gardener wanna-be, but due to the soil and the weather, gardening in Arizona is difficult. The only things I've been able to grow with any reliability are roses and zucchini. Marmaduke is such a gorgeous orange boy! I have an orange boy of my own; you can read about him and my other 7 cats on my website. Love the site, love the cats although mine are even more lovely (so they tell me). Against my better judgement I read the pages dedicated to Rosie and Twiggy. I have also lost cats to the road, the last time it was Winnie who was sitting on the pavement. Some delivery driver parked on him. Our devestation was great, it felt as if someone had ripped my heart out and then stamped on it. Winnie had been hand reared and really was our baby. he is buried in the garden under a rosemary plant (for rememberance). Funny you never quite get over it even though we lost him 9 years ago I still talk to him when I'm in the garden. But we do have his mum (poor milk producer and generally disinterested in kittens hence the hand rearing)and she Wysiwyg, her sister Spotty and her daughter (also hand reared) Tippy are, next to my partner, the most cherished people? in my life. Funny how a small, demanding bundle of fur becomes someone so precious. |
