I've read the rest of SRDs books too and really enjoyed them, but Covenant is special. I know that I am a screw-up and that's why I find hope in TC's story. The whole thing is SO RICH. every time I read them the imagery overtakes me (and I have read them many times) I know that movies could never equal them, but I still want to see this story on the big screen. Meantime, I gotta think about a name for registering on this site... could take a while |

| Comments: | The series follow a similar pattern for me. It took me a while to get through Lord Fouls Bane. Even Longer to get through the Wounded Land. Even Longer the Ruins. I would start the book and then take forever to get into the story. Then the second book would hit and the story would be fully in the Land and I would be hooked. I now have my 7 year old son wanting to drink the Earth Blood. How come nobody has mentioned Amok as a favorite character? |

| Comments: | In the interview page on SRDs official website, he stated that the "Last Chronicles" would be more difficult to write because he would have to make the "previous "Covenant" stories look like a stroll in the park".
I didn't see this so much in "Runes of the Earth", but he certainly accomplished this in "Fatal Revenant". My only regret, now that I am finished reading it, is that it will be another 3 years for the next one to come out! |

| Comments: | I'm an enormous fan of the Covenant books, but Donaldson's other works are also fantastic. I adore the Gap series (read it three times) and the Mordant's Need books. But the world of The Land is just one you can really sink your teeth into with its highly charismatic and wonderfully rounded characters. I love it.
I'm not sure how old SRD is, but I just hope he arrives at 2013 (and the final part of the final Covenant Chronicles) in good health with many years to spare! |

The charactors are so full of passion and love for this so called imaginary place, you can't help but fall in love with it too. I'm reading "The Illearth War". I find it very interesting and intriguing, although sometimes hard to read because of the strange words the author uses. Covenants attitute really sucks. I'm hoping that changes throughout the storyline. But all in all, I like the story. I can't wait to see the movie. My Mother is very excited about it also. |

| Comments: | I consider The Chronicles Of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever (first and second series) to be the best fantasy series ever written. With all due respect to Tolkien, without whose influence the series would probably never have been written, it surpasses Lord of the Rings in just about every way imaginable. I am truly enthused that the Third Chronicles is finally out and I've already purchased Runes of the Earth. However due to past experiences in which I almost went crazy reading each book as it came out and then waiting for the next book to be released, as I did reading the Mordant's Need series and the Gap series, I promised myself that I would never let this happen again and am therefore waiting until all four books of the Third Chronicles are released before I start reading them. Recently purchased Donaldson's The Man Who... series omnibus, which he wrote under the pseudonym Reed Stephens, which should keep me occupied for a while, but Runes keeps calling me from my shelf, "Come read me, come read me!" I do not know how much longer I can hold out. |

| Comments: | I was initially ensnared by the artwork of Darrell K. Sweet. But the picture on the cover and the description on the back could not prepare me for the world contained inside. Having read these at the age of 12 or 13, I could say that my character/superego was partially formed by these books. Seeing how the Bloodgard were my favorite characters, this was probably not a good thing. I never lived up to my expectations. Like a lot of other people, I have been on a Tolkien kick for the last 2 years. But I think it is about time to revisit the Land. It truly holds a special and esteemed place in my heart. |

Even as far as the sea fairing giants, who most historians and archeologists want to (by any means) discredit, some of us know the truth behind these myths.
