Thank you for sharing your pictures. I am at the point of ordering hardwood floors for my home (I'm also on a budget but I'm going to splurge w/ hand-scraped hickory) and needed some guidance for the type of baseboards to use that would look "cottage" appropriate. While on your site, I looked at your cabinet re-do (fabulous) and also found your window trim - which confirmed the style I was considering. Simple, straightforward. You saved me a lot of guesswork! I remember well "working cottage magic" on a three bedroom ranch that really didn't want to go down that path with me. Three houses later my husband and I have rehabbed a 1860s Greek Revival and I adore the years of making creative places to raise our family.

Searching for ideas on laundry room makeovers of all things.

I think its great as it is...

Very inspirational - I've been thinking of re-doing my kitchen cabinets (my entire kitchen, actually) but the cost of a remodel stopped me dead in my tracks, especially with our current economy. I then considered painting my stock oak cabinets and updating my appliances instead and after seeing what you did with your kitchen, I'll probably take on this enormous task. My kitchen is pretty dark (not a lot of natural light) so I'd probably go with painting them white but I love the red and green combo you have. I still need to tackle the laundry room first but you've given me a lot of good ideas! You and your hubby-do are very talented!

Looking for ideas on how to paint kitchen cabinets. My house was built in 1882 and needs a lot of work. I saw so much potential when I bought it 1 year ago. But now with the economy I have put off renovation. For Christmas my husband is allowing me to paint our kitchen. I need help with the fact that the hardware on the cabinets has been painted over (probably 10 times!) I can't get the doors or handles off.

You are my hero!! I can't add anything. Keep inspiring, what a gift you have!
