| Comments: | Coco - the Story Teller's Assistant.
The first Kimlai Kit to spend those weary hours in a crate winging its way to Hong Kong was Max, nearly nine years ago. His sorrowing new owner and her husband desperately awaited his arrival. The loss of their first babe - Mary Kathleen so far from home, from familiar faces and familiar surroundings had intensified their grief and isolation. The young mother had grown up amongst puppies and kittens, Standard Schnauzers and Burmese. The Schnauzer, by nature of its size and temperament was unsuited to apartment living. The Burmese, of course is an indoor cat - and that is that! Mary Kathleen's Noni and Grandpa no longer had the patter of tiny paws about the house, so Kimlai was approached for a Burmese Kit of outstanding temperament for export to Hong Kong. Max was carefully selected by his breeder as being the type of lad who would endure the strangeness of it all and emerge from his crate in Hong Kong with his joyous celebration of just being ME unscathed by the experience. Max did just that! Max welcomed two beautiful babies into the world and rejoiced in his tiny human playmates. Zachary and Georgia adored him but worried that he was lonely. They had each other - Max had no-one. Noni and Grandpa returned to Kimlai for a little sister for Max. Upon retirement Noni had become the Story Teller for 3 Nursing Homes. Scallop, the Zenchel Labrador and Red, the Kimlai Burmese are both schooled for Pets as Therapy. They are lead trained, totally trustworthy to be handled and approach strangers in wheelchairs, on frames or with movement rendered jerky by strokes with quiet poise. Red will safely tether and Scallop never breaks on the "Drop Stay". They are known as The Story Teller's Assistants. Coco was waiting for them. This self assured young Miss sauntered into the new carry crate, settled on the new cushion, with these new people all with their new unfamiliar smells totally unfazed by the newness of it all.. During the drive from Diamond Creek to Bacchus Marsh on Monday Coco had consented to being happy and mischievous while wearing a harness. A kitten in a car being exposed to an alien concept - confined to a harness and lead reacted with total aplomb. On Tuesday Coco accompanied the Story Teller and Scallop to the nursing homes. From the first Monday encounter Scallop ignored Coco, Coco abused Scallop with dire threats and effectively assumed GIGANTIC proportions with the full bottlebrush look from the tip of her tail to her brillo wire whiskers. Coco gave up on Scallop on Tuesday - she was too busy showing off her remarkable skills on her tether to an adoring audience to worry about a creature as lowly as a Labrador. Coco was being cuddled, Coco thrived on attention. Coco was a star. The LABRADOR - what Labrador? Sometimes bedridden old people simply 'go away' leaving just the husk behind. They do not relate to any one or thing at all. On Tuesday Coco brought an old person who had once loved cats and spent her life surrounded by them back to say "Hello." Hands, with cobweb veins fumbled to cuddle the tiny Kitten that had been placed on her lap. Eyes opened and the head inclined trying to look at the love and warmth nestling against her. She said something unintelligible and smiled. For a moment the window opened and light entered a darkened and lonely heart. The two nurses who knew her so well wept - Coco purred and licked the arm wrapped around her. The moment passed and the old lady went away again. The miracle of a small kitten. Thankyou Kimlai for the magic Coco to surprise these elderly residents with joy. She will leave us for Hong Kong - to start another life. Her memories of it all will fade - ours will not. |

Kimalai Miss Aida Jay has settled in quite comfortably after adopting her just over 1 year ago. She has grown into a beautiful loving cat, who has the personality like the rainbow & will continue to be who she is & more, in years too come. Thankyou for letting us give her a chance in our loving home in Gladstone Park. Veronica, Fraser, Shaun & Sarah xxx |

| Comments: | We have had our baby girl Amber for 10 days now and she is just beautiful. The children love her and I think she likes all the attention! My other girl Jess isn't too happy about the new addition, but I'm sure they'll be the best of friends before too much longer. |

| Comments: | He is fabulous at Merrimu Disabled Centre - the clients love him. He is supervised for walks on his lead and he cuddles and purrs with the more severely disabled wheelchair bound clients. Have finally found a harness he cannot break - he is just so strong. O.K. you have bred a winner - beautiful, intelligent and resourceful. A cat with a purpose - to be trained with love to give severely disabled adults a focus to be loved. What a cat.
Regards Robyn. |

| Comments: | I have thoroughly enjoyed browsing your wonderful site and look forward to coming back for updates. We recently lost our beautiful brown Burmese, Milo, in a tragic accident at only 17 weeks. My children, husband and I were utterly devastated and have learnt the hard way that indeed, Burmese cats should never be let outside. But I'm happy to say we now have a gorgeous, cream boy called Mango, who is delighting us in his own adorable way. We still miss Milo terribly and would love to welcome a little brown boy into our homes in the near future. I just can't get enough of them!
All the best to your and your lovely babies. Amalia and Family Z from Sydney. |

| Comments: | Hi Peta,
Have spoken to you on several occassions re the beautiful Burmese breed. We are owned, loved and adored by 4 burmese of various ages in our home.Your website is not only a credit to you but so glorious to just sit and keep scrolling over the pages and have all the "remember whens" all our cats were kittens.I cannot recommend this breed highly enough. Everyone that visits our home certainly have a good knowledge of the breed when they leave us.I cannot imagine our lives without Burmese,no matter what colour or gender.Sadly we lost our brown boy very suddenly to the dreaded FIP last year at the tender age of 13 months. We never wish our hearts to be broken so badly like that again in our lifetime.Have now sent your website to many friends both local and internationally.May you continue to be blessed with such beautiful Burmese in your cattery.it was more than a pleasure to visit your site. Kinderst Regards Kerryanne |

| Comments: | Dear Peta
We purchased a brown kitten from you in March 2002. We named him Kai (pronounced Ky) and have been meaning to tell you how much pleasure we get from him. He is the most affectionate cat we have ever had and is incredibly intelligent and fun to have around. He learns new things with astonishing ease and is just delightful in every way. His papers are filed away but my son recalls that Kai's name on them was Kisami (or something like that). Kai lives happily in the house and never attempts to go outside. There was even a day that the front door was left open with nobody home for about 40 minutes and when we arrived home Kai was sitting in the doorway but making no attempt to go outside. It was almost like he was guarding his palace! I'm sure you don't need us to tell you the joys of owning a Burmese but we just wanted to let you know how happy we are with Kai and to thank you for making such lovely pets available. Kind regards |

Was told to look at your site as being a great example of a website for a Cattery. Whatever I was told did not prepare me for a truly amazing experience. Not only was I more than impressed in the web design but also the wonderful presentation of all cats and kittens and details pertaining to all. I have just e-mailed the link to my new website designer. |
