Congratulations, your performance was brilliant, as was your sister Naomi's and the other members of the band too.
Wish you were playing at the Joan Sutherland in Penrith where I now live.
Thank you for an unforgettable evening.

Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the Cat Stevens Peace Train show. It was fabulous. You were fabulous. The band was fabulous!!
I am the biggest Cat fan, have always loved him and will always love him.
Thank you for singing Father & Son, the way you did, with respect and authentically. The guitar bit in the middle was top class.
Thanks again and if ever you put the show on again, I have recommended it to heaps of my friends.

We were blown away by your concert last night at the City Recital Hall. The sound was fantastic and you really bought this remarkable artist and human being to life. It made us think of what really matters in life and after all, wasn't that what Cat was all about?
Keep up the good work!
Best Wishes

PS The song 'Morning has Broken' was also played on the guitar by a university student in London at our wedding in 1975

My husband and I had the privilege of attending the Peacetrain concert last night(April 18). We have both been Cat fans since our teens and Morning Has Broken was played at our wedding ceremony. Your concert honouring him last night was absolutely incredible. Every song; the storyof his life interwoven between his beautiful music and lyrics; it was just spellbinding. I was (and many people) very emotional throughout the whole evening. Your band were brilliant as well. And you did so deserve your standing ovation! Thanks for making our night incredibly special. I wish i could go again tonight!!
Best wishes

I went to see "Peace Train" with my husband last night at the City Recital Hall. It was the most amazing performance and I can honestly say that there would not have been one person in that audience who was disappointed. The way that you narrated the story of Cat Stevens and incorporated his songs was pure magic. I cried when you sang "Father & Son" and it means even more to me now that I know why he wrote it. You told the story of a warm, beautiful man with so much to give. Our loss of his music is someone else's gain. I cried even more at the end when you sang "Peace Train". Thanks again, Jacqui

Your knowledge and intriguing way of story telling as well as your beautiful voice blew my friends and I away. for a time i closed my eyes and I was there with cat stevens himself. My husband and i decided to treat ourselves to your concert as a 20th wedding anniversary rather than bestowing each other with a useless gift - we chose the best gift possible by attending your show. Your passion for cat's songs and life radiated from your heart directly into ours. amazing to say the least. thank you so much. we were on the phone to all our friends who couldnt attend the show. Please keep me informed of further shows in sydney as we will be relentlessly boasting of what an excellent show it was to all our friends and can guarantee attending with at least 20 more friends to future shows. Thank you, thank you for such an enlightening history into the life of our favourite singer Cat Stevens. Whilst I understand Cat does not endorse this show I am positive he would be proud of the way you conduct this show with so much passion. I can't say enough to thank you Darren x

It brought back so many memories of life back in the late sixties and seventies. Your vocal and musical performance, as well as your insight into Cat Stevens both musically and as an individual was spectacular. May I also say your musicians and singers were exceptional. We hope to catch the show again. You're a wonderful talent. Congratulations!

Comments:March 5th Launceston Princess Theatre.........oh yes....have always known I was a child of the 60's. I too closed my eyes like many others and almost believed 'the Cat' was on stage. Any advice please?????......after intermission a young girl sitting directly behind me (early 20's) chomped and chewed and rattled her way through packet of chips. After 4 interrupted songs and dialogue I asked her politely to hurry up as her noise was annoying. After the 6th song I asked her assertively to stop eating her food as it was ruining my experience (of Peace Train) and of those around me. She told me aggressively to "take my f.....tanty outside!!!" I channelled my inner 'zen'...jumped aboard my own 'peace train' and continued the Darren Coggan experience. Despite this small dose of 'theatre rage' from an ignorant and rude theatre-goer, I was on a high for days. It was terrific to see babes, young children, teens and adults share in this magical night. Awesome DC!!

Met you a couple of times now, lastly out at Windsor RSL, when you sang The Ghost of Fishers Creek for me (twice!). Many thanks, it's one of my favourites. My husband and I also enjoyed Quambatook. Have now booked 10 tickets for Peace Train at the The City Recital Hall. No doubt it'll be as good as, if not better than, Moonshadows, which we travelled to Melbourne to see. Looking forward to having the family with us this time, as I know they'll become avid followers too. Thanks again.

My wife and I saw Cat Stevens live at the Horden Pavillion twice. Last Saturday at the Merrigong we witnessed a brilliant performance by you and the talented musos and backup singers. We took our 28year old daughter with us ( she is a Cat Stevens fan) and during the performance told her to close her eyes as we did. We were transported back to the Horden some 38 years. Our daughter whilst not seeing Cat Stevens live now has a real appreciation of his live music.
Our warmest thanks for rekindling the past so vividly. You are a very talented performer . Keep up the great work

Just one little niggle. We were left with the impression that Cat packed in the music business all those years ago, which is true, never to be heard from again, which is not true.

I am sure you know that Cat has now started recording again, under the name Yusuf Islam. His CD "Another Cup" is available, as is a DVD of a concert he did in London this year.

The performance was typical of Darren's musical excellence and his humanity. The humour and entertainment throughout guaranteed a tearful, meaningful night - well done. Congratulations to you and Ken would wrote so much of the material. This performance following on so closely from Moonshaddows clearly demostrates your your talent and professionalism!
The show should be a must for all Australian's and compulsory viewing for all students studying war!
Well done young man!

Comments:Hi Darren,

I cannot tell you just how much my wife and I enjoyed your wonderfully crafted 'Moonshadows' Melbourne performance in mid-February and again a week later. Your performances and those of the band were so entertaining and faultless; as was also the choice of music with explanation and its musical direction by Naomi. I sang your praises amongst my friends afterwards, asking them to make every effort to see the performance before it left our shores! (If you have the strength, and if you decided to tour with it, I am absolutely sure that 'Moonshadows' would be a major hit and sellout in the UK and USA, ).

I now have a copy of your 'Moonshadows' CD and will also be exploring your other works. We wish you and the band the success you all truly deserve. Thanks again so much for giving us a chance to hear the wonderful Cat Stevens music and thoughtful lyrics that are just as relevant today as they originally were.

It was excellent of course. I left the Athenaeum Theatre on such a high that I'm sure I could have flown home to Sydney without the plane! Darren, his sister and other accompanying band members certainly deserve as many tributes for their performance as Cat Stevens himself. Well done.
