He isn't walking or talking but he cruises along walls and furniture. He also wears hearing aids and is a cochlear implant candidate. He is my little miracle. You have a great site. I am a member of the Klessig family and was browsing the Web, looking for Klessig sites. Do you have Wayne Jens's wonderful history of the Klessig family? Do you know if CMV is in any way associated with Meniere's disease? Both of my sisters and I have occasional episodes of the inner ear disease, which, without warning, causes extreme dizziness (resulting in the inability to walk or even sit up) and, I've been told, hearing loss. I have noticed some hearing loss since the onset of the disease three years ago and the four episodes I've had since then. Of course, that could be part of the normal aging process, too, now that I'm well into my 50's. Best wishes and congratulations on your successful Web site. Mary Williams |

| Comments: | You have such a lovely site. I wanted to thankyou for sharing your CMV story. My little grand-daughter, Sydney was diagnosed with congenital CMV only yesterday. She is 7 months old. She seemed perfectly normal until her 6 month check-up when her doctor felt she was a little behind and ordered a CT scan. We understand that her prognosis is rather bleak. Hello, My name is Lisa Simpson and I am from Missouri. I found your website when I was researching about CMV. I just learned of this virus today, My brother in laws Grandfather passed away yesterday due to being sick for several months. He had alot of problems but one of the things they learned he was suffering from was CMV. WE had never heard of this condition, My husband and I were blown away to read about it and learn that 80% of the world has this virus although it can lay dorment your whole life. And to know that we or our children may have this. I have read alot of your story but did not see anything about when you found out you had it and how you came to know you had it, Like symptoms or being sick... I would like to know how you found out that you carried this virus, It is wild but I also have read that it really is common and that you can have it and never show syptoms or get "sick" from it. I hope things go well for you and your family and would love to hear from you. Mr. Allen ( bro-in-laws grandpa was 83 years old and they arent sure how and when he contracted the virus but think it could have been from a blood transfusion he had a few months ago and it really made him sicker because his immune system was so damaged from his emphysemia and everything else he was suffering from. He has been a healthy man all his 83 years untill 5 months ago and they are not sure what really was the final result of his death being that he had so much wrong with him. I just wonder now if contracted CMV was what finally contributed to his death. Well you and your family take care and you will be in my prayers.
