dal vostro corrispondente “Massimo Canestorto”

Ottimo esordio quello dei “TorinoTortonesi” THE KILLDADDIES a Tilburg, cittá di provincia nel sud dell’ Olanda dove è situato uno dei piu consolidati punkcaffè dell’ Olanda: il “ Little Devil”.
Il locale, al mio arrivo è gremitissimo e in trepidazione per le due bands in programma stasera.
Dopo gli olandesi SIDEKICKBOB tra l’altro molto bravi, attaccano i THE KILLDADDIES ed è subito delirio, Claudio e Pelli, rispettivamente cantante e chitarrista, ci danno dentro come degli indemoniati e Giorgiomaria al basso piu voce non è certo da meno, un capitolo a parte è il drumming di Manzio vero asso nella manica per quanto riguarda la sezione ritmica, che durante tutto il set risulta precisa, cattiva e impeccabile.
Il pubblico impazzisce, e le canzoni si susseguono l’ una dopo l’ altra, quasi senza sosta, sempre seguite da applausi carichi di energia.. La band riesce a creare fin dall’ inizio un ottimo feeling con il pubblico olandese, nonostante il fatto che il set sia composto da canzoni proprie e proprio per questo a tutti sconosciute.
Sopratutto durante l‘ esecuzione di “ I don’t like you” la reazione del pubblico è straordinaria!
Dopo ben 45 minuti di grandissima tensione sonora arriva il gran finale con tanto di bis (dedicato a me “the italian friend) e saluti a tutti i fans olandesi.

Il giudizio è univoco.Poche bands italiane riescono a fare quello che hanno fatto stasera
i THE KILLDADDIES in Olanda.
Punk rock is still alive !!!

When we got the spot at the local warehouse space for artist's it seemed like the most logical transition. Of course, I was just about ready to head back to college, but when the offer came up to stay at the BREWERY how could I say know. The first night there was spent with the previous artist's in there old room throwing T.V's off the balcony for films sake. Later we would get some shows one with a local band called the tigerlilies. I remember the night they called us we took one of the sculptures left behind and put it in their space as they lived there too. They were good times from the time we wrote on the wall to the rope swing and pool ladder to the balcony. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Not even a violin.

Grazie! Essendo un amante di dreampop e postshoegazer, le
vs. informazioni sono fondamentali, visto che allo stato,
le riviste ufficiali ignorano ( o peggio distruggono) i
gruppi "sognatori" e l'unica fonte di informazioni ad oggi
era l'aggancio con il magazine romano/ parigino Losing
Today e con la sua mailing list.
PS- Da angofilo quale ero, I Cranes, fino a qualche hanno
dividevano il mio cuore con Slowdive e pochi altri gruppi
britannici ( C.T, Lush, Field Mice etc); da quando ho
scoperto i giapponesi ed ho spaziato anche negli ex odiati
States, od in Australia, Svezia etc mi sono innamorato di
gruppi come Sugarplant, Hydroplane, Curtain Society,Club8,
Colfax Abbey Dorothy's melting .
