I saw them in the early 90's on "The MIX" tour in Birmingham, UK and will never forget it - although the association goes back along way (Radioactivity! was the first purchase!) I've just got EXPO2000 and want to reassure fellow fans that its still in the same mould - Only Kraftwerk could loop sounds and voices in this way! I give big up egg-sample: Orbital, Cybotron (check out 'Clear' from any good old-school DJ stock), and millions of others (some poor, some not). Find old 'Electro' tapes for early 80's high-octane mixes ('Tour de France', 'Numbers', 'Radioactivity' etc., etc., etc.). I have LP release from 1974, not listed in discographies that I have come across, called 'X-L-R-8'(Excellerate) that is compilation of tracks from first four albums (on Vertigo label). Still here? Go read 'Kraftwerk: From Dusseldorf to the Future (with Love)' by Tim Barr (Ebury Press ISBN 0 09 186490 9),1998. Laters... |

I am one of the few lucky one's who waited an hour after the show and got pictures of all their hardware (boxed up, though) being loaded up into trucks. Ralf spoke to me when he signed my shirt!!! He said, "Your pen doesn't write." I was like oh shit! Somebody anybody give me a pen that writes! Then it worked. Ralf and Fritz both signed my white robot t-shirt. I have a close up picture of Ralf as he was signing autographs. It is I guarantee the closest picture of Ralph anywhere you will find! Email me and I'll scan it to you. It all happened so fast. I froze when I saw him. He was right next to me!!! My lucky-ass brother is in the picture with Ralph. I was speechless when I saw him. RALPH IS KRAFTWERK. I will never wear the shirt.....hmmm, maybe at the next tour. |
